Cheap... and still not worth it

I live in Phoenix. It's a nice city with great weather and beautiful geography, but the Arizona Science Center epitomizes everything that's wrong with Phoenix -- the fifth largest city in the country but one that has virtually no high-quality cultural facilities. I grew up in Toronto, so my benchmark (the Ontario Science Center) is a high one -- but...

I've been to a number of science centers and science musuems and this was one of the worst. Although the museum is four floors there are very few exhibits on each floor. None of interactive exhibits are very interesting for kids or adults. They have a new dinosaur exhibit, with animatronic models, but they look cheap and poorly made, and...

We were in Phoenix area for Thanksgiving week and my niece needed to do a report on biology. We went to the Science museum so she could get this done. She had a good time as there were lots of hands-on exhibits to try out. I'm not sure I'd say any stood out more than others. The range of exhibits...

Excellent!!

The Arizona Science Center is very fun as well as very educational! They have some wonderful exhibits. We have been about 10 times in the past 3 years and are always very impressed. Our children are preschool age and we weren't too sure they would enjoy it, but they had a great time. They had a Sesame Street exhibit about the human body that was specifically geared for small children, which was incredible! There are new exhibits all the time. It's a fun place to spend an afternoon. Check it out!! The staff is very friendly and fun!

Am I missing something here?

While the museum did offer a few interesting exhibits, it is not conducive for small children. They had one area for preschoolers that was dirty and not well-stocked. I found all the exhibits a bit dirty in fact. There were several school groups there (despite it being summer); it was way too crowded and rambunctious for my 2-year-old daughter to enjoy. It does not compare to other children's museums we have been to throughout the country (Indianapolis, Salt Lake, Seattle)

Fascinating Exhibit

The exhibit was much better than I thought it would be. An amazing look inside your body at your muscles and organs. Displays of hearts, livers, stomachs, and other organs - healthy and diseased. My only complaint is how crowded it was. It was very difficult to see many of the exhibits with so many people crowding around. We went at spring break, so it may not always be so crowded. Also, we only wanted to see the Body Works exhibit but had to pay admission to the museum as well

Fun for the whole family

I recently visited the Arizona Science Center again. This time my husband and I took my 2-year old daughter since they had the "Sesame Street Presents The Body" exhibit. I was not sure if it would be to 'advanced' for her, but she seemed to really enjoy it and participated in several activities. She really loved the obstacle course, Hooper's store ,and dance with Grover sections of the Sesame Street exhibit. We all had a fun time and ended up staying there longer than we thought we would and enjoyed many of the other parts of the museum as well.We had a coupon from the Entertainment book to use so the cost was reasonable, otherwise a little pricey. Probably would look into getting a membership once daughter is a little older.

No kids in our group, and we still ran out of time!

Just a group of "ex-kids" decided to explore on our day off and we had a fun time ourselves. Many exhibits are aimed at kids, but there were plenty of interesting things to look at for us "kids at heart" as well as watch little kids have a blast at the exhibits. Everything is hands on. A friend went here with her son, but she found it boring, and thought her son just had an ok time. We just made it to the 3rd floor before the museum closed so we missed some exhibits. I would say I really liked the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago alot more, but this is the closest thing here in Phoenix. Entertainment Book had a "2 for 1 ticket" coupon, and parking can be validated if you remember to bring in your stub from the garage.

The Arizona Science Center is one definite must-go place if you visit Phoenix. We had our office community event there and the place is very beautiful. We got a nice conference room and all the staff are very polite and friendly. We had this private planetarium presentation and it was the bomb! Very informative and interesting. I'm gonna bring my relatives here when they come during thanksgiving.

We have been to the Arizona Science Center many times. Usually for class field trips. The kids love it there. They have so much to do, you can easily spend the whole day there without getting bored. The only drawback is the cost, I found it to be quite expensive.
