Food was good, but service was the pits by Teresa S. at InsiderPages

We had our wedding reception at La Posada. While the atmosphere was fine and the food was great, we suffered in the customer service department. The valet managed to wreck my Dad's truck into our car, the baggage handler who moved our gifts stole $500 worth of our gifts, our honeymoon suite was given to another guest, and our toilet overflowed in our downgraded room. Even after a rather lengthy letter to La Posada, we received none of our money back and did NOT receive an apology for the comedy of errors that occurred during our reception. Their insurance did finally pay, after three months of fighting, to pay the $2K of damage to the two vehicles. I would not recommend.

An original Hilton hotel built in 1939 under Conrad Hilton's direction, the hotel is a museum in itself. The historic rooms are fashioned with southwestern detail, from the hand carved wooden headboards, to the Pueblo Indian rugs. All guests rooms will let you step back in history with all the comforts and technology of modern day times.

This was a Fodors Choice and we were excited about staying in a charming downtown hotel. WRONG Old - certainly but poorly run. No guest parking lot. Downtown was very noisy until midnight - 2am our time. Restaurant service beyond poor. Skip this "choice".

La Posada de Albuquerque

Located in Downtown Albuquerque and within walking distance to movie theaters, restaurants, art galleries, night clubs, comedy clubs, the Convention Center and the beautiful KIMO Theater, this modestly priced hotel gets our recommendation. Built in 1939 by owner/designer Conrad Hilton, La Po, as locals call it, was the site of his honeymoon. It is deservedly on the National Registry of HIstoric Places. From the beautiful Moorish brass and mosaic fountain in the lobby to its handcarved corbels, handmade furniture and Mexican tile floors, this is a one of a kind hotel. The 114 rooms also have handcarved furniture and the bigger rooms at the top of the 10 story hotel have large windows looking out across the city with a view of our breathtaking Sandia Mountains. Amenities include access to a health facility, a restaurant and a popular lobby bar that features live music.

We loved this place!

I went to La Posada with my two teenage children -- a girl, 13, and a boy, 15. We loved this hotel!! We loved the ambience of the time it was built. The restaurant was good, although some more ordinary fare would be nice for kids

Charming Space

My husband and I stayed here for two days and loved the traditional setting of the southwest throught the hotel and our room. It is definitly not a luxury hotel but more of a quaint cultural atmosphere with friendly faces. We arrived early and the manager was so kind as to get us to our reserved room promply. Overall, we were delighted by the character and ambiance of the La Posada!

Old time flair lacks modern amenities

I really liked the decor of the La Posada. The lobby is really beautiful and at night on the weekends they serve drinks and free mexican stlye snacks. However, it was the middle of February and our room was very hot. We had to leave the windows open just to mellow the temperature. Also, we had reserved a room with a King size bed, but realized half-way through our stay that it was really a Queen. So, the stay was not as comfortable as I would have liked, but the service was grand and the furniture was beautiful

Noisy Nights at La Posada

The greatest problem was noise. On two nights the noise (from people and motorcycles and cars) from the club scene a block away kept us up until 2AM when the police, announced by their sirens, finally arrived

Rooms are small and need to be remodeled. Two inch gap under door so you can hear every person passing through the hallway. Walls are so thin I could hear the guest in the next room talking on the phone for two hours. (Evidently he was having marriage problems). The carpet was so filthy i was afraid to take off my shoes. This is a tired old property that was probably remodeled in 1930

A classic Southwestern hotel from the 30s.

An elegant venture into the late 1930s with tiled showers, large rooms, southwestern architecture, especially the lobby. La Posada far surpasses the plastic incubators passed off as motels and hotels of today. We actually had brass keys to our room, not those little plastic cards of today. If you are looking for clean, comfortable, and unpretentious setting this is it. Highly recommended for those wishing to step back into the quality of the 30s. The downtown location provided a variety of resturants and night time spots.....a positive change from the other areas of Albuquerque. Of course the room charges via Yahoo! Travel made our stay possible!!

Conrad's is an excellent restaurant! In the historic La Posada Hotel in downtown Albuquerque. Chic interior...cloth table cloths...excellent service. The dishes are not only delicious, they are attractively presented. The "second best" hotel restaurant (in my opinion) only to the superb, Rancher's Club at the Hilton on University Blvd.
