In 1955, Dr. Marvin Rothman opened the doors to Rothman Animal Hospital and began his dream of providing the highest level of veterinary care for the community's pets, including birds, reptiles and other exotic animals. As the first veterinary hospital in the area at that time to offer avian and exotic expertise, the practice quickly gained a reputation for high-quality, comprehensive medical care.In the early years of the practice, Dr. Rothman was a solo practitioner. He built the hospital based on a model of compassion for all creatures, and respectful understanding of owners needs and concerns. Educating owners on keeping pets well was just as important as helping them care for their sick or injured pets. As the practice grew, so did its reputation. Within a few years, more veterinarians joined Dr. Rothman, and today, the hospital is staffed by six dedicated, caring doctors. In its new, state-of-the-art facility across from the original location on Route 130 in Collingswood, Rothman Animal Hospital continues to deliver outstanding veterinary care and other services, under the direction of Dr. Mark Esser. joined by four other experienced veterinarians all graduates of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. With an experienced team of technicians and office personnel, they continue the tradition of excellence that Rothman Animal Hospital is known for.

Sloppy grooming, weak in cust service
I scheduled a cat grooming for the morning, and was assured my cat would be ready well before the end of the day. I called an hour before the end of the day, asking about the cat's status, and was told they'd need to break up the grooming into 2 visits because the matting was so bad.
When I arrived to pick up my cat, they hadn't touched him. They hadn't let him out the cage, hadn't bathed him, nor cut any hair. The groomer told me I'd receive a $15 discount off the grooming since I'd wasted my time.
I rescheduled for the next week, and when I arrived, the front desk asked for his paperwork for the third time, which I'd already faxed twice. When I went to pick up my cat later that day, the groomer had nicked his ear. There was dried blood in his hair. She also didn't cut his hair in a lion's cut, but shaved off all his hair leaving patches of hair on his legs, and the entire tail uncut. She also cut his whiskers off one side of his face.
I never received my $15 discount for the wasted time for the first "appointment". I complained about the cut, and the next day Sue called saying she was sorry for "the way I thought I'd been treated."
I will not go back to Rothman even though they're cheaper than my other groomer. They were weak on customer service, professionalism, and grooming.
