Information about this business (2)

The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum began with one small artifact, a Sekhmet (lion goddess) statue, which stood on the desk of H. Spencer Lewis, the founder of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC. In the 1920s AMORC supported the excavations of the Egypt Exploration Society in Tell el-Amarna (Akhetaten), the city of the Pharaoh Akhnaton. In 1927 H. Spencer Lewis conceived public collection. In 1929 AMORC...

The Egyptian Museum at Rosicrucian Park has been a fixture of San Jose life for so long that it is difficult to conceive of a time without it. Hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors to Northern California have experienced "history coming alive" through the exhibits, tours, lectures and other activities at the Museum. How did this landmark come to be here in the Valley first known for...

The Rosicrucian is associated with an ancient Egyptian educational organization that strongly advocated belief in the afterlife and reincarnation. Less morbid artifacts include Egyptian jewelry, pottery, and bronze tool collections. The Planetarium features shows at...

This museum is relatively small but it contains lots of artifacts (many are replicates) and even a tomb chamber replicate! Check the workshop schedule (weekend only) before hand and make it a half-day event of much fun for kids and adults alike!

Wonderful opportunity to "visit" Egypt

We have been taking sixth graders to the Rosicrucian Museum for many years. It provides a wonderful glimpse into life in ancient Egypt. It isn't just for students, however, as there is plenty to engage even the most ardent "Egyptophile".

Surprisingly good

A small museum but fascinating. The original mummy is the biggest attraction while copies of the Rosetta stone and Hammurabhi's code are almost like the original. Definitely worth the couple of hours I spent here.

A good day of family fun

We took our boys, ages 4 and 8, for a day of fun over the Christmas school break. We went during one of the treasure hunts. Unfortunately, they got a little hungry and cranky during our visit since you aren't allowed to eat inside the museum and there is no snack/cafe area. They loved the tomb and found every excuse...
