Lolla Artists Dish On Favorite Chicago Spots

Third Roots Pizza Location?; Ramen-San Extends Opening Special; More

LAKEVIEW—Despite a report stating that a Lakeview expansion is a go, representatives of Roots Handmade Pizza are stating that a deal is not in place for a third location…yet. More to come on this story surely. [DNAinfo/EaterWire]

RIVER NORTH—Ramen-San is extending their opening day deal of half-price ramen through this coming Thursday. It's a good opportunity to sample what chef/partner Doug...

A Ben Schiller Bar is Heading to Lincoln Square

More than 10 months after word broke of a planned Roots Handmade Pizza location in Lincoln Square, it turns out that The Fifty/50 Group's Quad Cities-inspired pizza spot isn't the only thing coming to 2200 W. Lawrence. Cocktail guru Benjamin Schiller (The Berkshire Room) will also open a bar next door, RedEye reports.

Castle Gets Four Corners Expertise; 2 Sparrows Metropolitan Dinner; More

Piezani "welcome" this West Town pizzeria, cheering its "unique" scissor-cut pies that are "done to perfection" with Quad Cities–style malted crust and a "wonderful alternative to deep-dish"; affordable American fare like salads and sausages extends the menu, and while a "massive" all-Midwestern beer list is considered alone "worth the visit", the "large" space and "comfortable booths" also...

Roots makes my favorite pizza in all of Chicago. Actually, now that I think about it, Roots makes my favorite pizza in ALL THE LAND. I just love this stuff, even if it's more expensive than other pizza options in the neighborhood. But who cares about  money when it comes to really, really fricking good pizza?

besides awesome pizza, they have delicious chocolate cake.

Love the Quad-City style! The crust is not too thick, not too thin and the sauce is so flavorful with just a little kick. You can try something crazy like the Taco Pizza, but I'd suggest just building your own (can get pricey though! ). Also, the mozzarella sticks are amazeballs. Nice ambiance with great big booths and big beet selection!

Mediocre overpriced pizza pretending to be fancy and high class. I don't understand how this filler crust, no taste sauce pizza survives in Chicago
