What the community has to say about Rooky Ricardo's Records

Information about this business (2)

Rooky Ricardo's boasts a stock of over a 100,000 LP's and 45's with new arrivals weekly! The records are categorized by genre and cover a wide variety, but store specialties are Soul, Classic Rock, Girl Groups and Oldies from the 50's, 60's and 70's. Standard 45's are still $2 each or 3 for $5 and LP's are on average $10-$20. Rarities in both formats have their own section for all the...

We specialize in basic and hard to find LPs and 45s. We separate by genre, catering mostly to soul, r&b, oldies, and rock. We put out new stuff most every day. We also have six available listening stations. Listen and learn.
Unfortunately, we no longer sell or repair turn tables.

I go to glass key next door on regular basis. I decided to drop in and I spoke to the owner. Really nice guy. He gave me advice on picking up a record player and told me about a few local shops...

The SceneThe SFPD put a stop to the wild monthly parties that were a Rooky Ricardo's tradition, but a visit to this vinyl-only soul, jazz, funk, blues and R&B shop still feels like a special event. There are barstools at the counter and vintage Formica kitchen tables where you can hang out, a wild cartoon mural of dancers with comically small heads, and a giant sculpture of Aunt Jemima holding court in the corner. The GoodsWith 50,000 singles and nearly a quarter of a million vintage LPs, odds are that Rooky has that '70s slow jam you've been missing. The big hits are there, but you can also...

The Extras

Check out the veritable museum of vintage portable record players along the side wall, then buy one of those old-fashioned oblong wooden crates to store your 45s.
