In the heart of Riverwest lies a humble grocery store/café. What makes Riverwest Co-Op unique is that all their products are either vegetarian/vegan, organic, and/or local. As well as groceries, they sell all nature friendly cleaners, beauty products, and other home goods. Attached is also the café that serves vegetarian/vegan friendly soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts, again with organic and local ingredients. They also have many specials such as "Pizza night Saturday" and "Taco Tuesday". We forgot one minor detail; the whole place is run by volunteers! This ensures that the prices are low, and stay low! Next time you think about going to Whole Foods or Outpost, consider stopping by Riverwest Co-Op and support our community!

Bottomless coffee! I love it, plus soy milk creamer. Friendly workers, noticed a sign that said if you work in the kitchen for 3 hours you get a free meal:) A very "Eastside" thing to do and I'm not sure how I feel about it, it's a little on the negative side for me, I don't want just any bum making the food I'm going to put in my body. Riverwest Co-op not only has THE BEST VEGAN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES I have ever tasted, they have such a wonderful selection of vegan Brunch items. Their veggie tofu scrambler has tons of fresh veggies. The fair trade coffee is delicious as well. Can't wait to try it out for lunch or dinner soon.
