The W Chicago City Center is located in the heart of Chicago’s financial district, but also benefits from nearby shopping and attractions. The W Chicago City center is an historic property with contemporary flare. Evidence of the building’s history can be seen throughout, but W has added their own fun flare. Guest rooms vary in size because of the hotel’s age, but all rooms are contemporary in design ... more

The Scene Formerly the Midland Hotel, the renovated W retains its elegant gilded ceilings and inlaid tile floors. The dark, cushy lobby (nicknamed the Living Room) feels like a hip nightclub, with a resident DJ spinning tunes from the overlooking balcony. It's quite a scene, with more than half the lobby loungers coming from nearby offices for pricey drinks and potential pickups. Black-clad ... more

In Short Well-heeled businesspeople and couples dine in the divided dining room where linear, masculine, dark-wood accents are softened by plush burgundy banquettes and booths. The menu offers fresh variations on earthy, rustic Tuscan cuisine: A starter of creamy polenta with musky wild mushrooms gets a kick from peppery balsamic reduction; grilled dorado is sauced with a sherry-laced dipping ... more

Despite its location in the uber-hip W Hotel, ristorante we offers attentive and unstuffy service. The Tuscan-inspired menu includes options like three-cheese tortellini and spaghettini primavera, but favors steak house fare with Italian twists like a strip steak tagliata (with arugula, roasted tomato, shaved Parmesan and extra virgin olive oil). All the steaks come seasoned with a Tuscan rub and ... more

My husband and I went to a concert in Chicago and stayed at the W Hotel on Adams street. The location was excellent. Everything was within walking distance. The sears tower is only a few blocks away from the hotel and the bus tour is located in front of the the Sears tower. We highly recommend this tour. The hotel was nicely decorated with purples, blues, and black. Candles were lit throughout the ... more

Ignore the bad reviews written YEARS ago. The hotel room was very modern and clean. We checked in late Friday night and the lobby was buzzing and similar to that of a nightclub lounge. The "anytime/anywhere" service was great - we called and the staff brought our phone charges to our room from our car in valet!! This is not near night spots, but the staff is helpful and can direct you there. The locale ... more

Service was terrible. Not only was it extremely slow (at lunch), but our waiter was nuts. When I asked what the soup of the day was, he told me, but then went on a two minute diatribe about how bad it was. The food was fair--pretty unexciting, especially for the price. The best part of the meal was the lobby of the hotel, which you can see for free. For the price, this was a real disappointment.
