You don't go to the Rio Grande for the food (although the chips, salsa and guac aren't bad). No, you go for the unbelievably tasty -- and potent -- margaritas. Enjoy them on the patio.
WHY WE LOVE IT: Tableside guacamole means you decide what goes in it, and a multiple margarita styles mean no one goes thirsty at Carlos Miguel’s, a casual and festive Mexican place where families and large groups co-exist. Best margaritas in Denver - hands down. The lunch menu is good considering this restaurant is best known for its marg's. I always get the chicken burrito with green chile (mild) because the hot salsa will melt your tongue.
The service was poor. If its not happy hour, the margs are 6.50 a peice. Although it was strong, it wasn't very big for the 6.50 charge! The chips and salsa were ok, but we only got a few big chips and then the rest were crumbs. Our water glasses remained empty. When we asked if we could special order something, the waitress acted like it was a huge hassle and didn't want to help. Its not...
