They are the worst towing service I have ever had to use. I had no choice is using them My car was stuck on the Palisades and this is the company they send to tow.My car was towed 13 miles to their shop. My bill was $336. What a rip off.He was quick to take my money but couldn't be bothered to send me a copy of my bill. I needed a copy of the bill to send to AAA; Had to call a number of times before he would respond to me. The owner was abusive on the phone. He told me if I kept calling him he would rip the copy of my bill up and I wouldn't get anything. I don't know how a company like this stays in business.

Our truck was a a DOT check point in suffern, ny the cop claimed that our truck had to be towed back to our yard that was 5 miles down the road and that we HAD to use Rich's towing they charged us $1,100 to tow it from suffnern, ny to sloatsburg, ny which anyone can google map its 5 miles down the road!The guy claims they get $850/hour ..who gets that kind of money an hour! RIP OFF!
It sounds like your truck failed a DOT inspection, so we can figure it is a Comercial vehicle. For them to say it had to be towed it sounds like you had some violations that were serious enough where they were not going to let you even drive it 5 miles.
Was any part of that $1,100 for the "violation(s)"?
If not there should be maximum fees they can charge. If they are charging more than...
sorry to hear of your bad luck . my suggestion would be to file small claims if they wont negotiate a FAIR price. that price is absolute highway robbery . even a judge will laugh at that rediculously ballooned charge . here in ny it would cost no more than about $100. !!!
Just kidding, sure be a shame if one of Rick's (no affiliation) babies got vandalised.
