VERY poor customer service

Unfortunately, I have to rate this local bike store as VERY poor. I have given them my business for the last six months (since I got into cycling) but will do so no longer. I recently tried to return a part that had been special ordered. I didn't actually approve that it BE special ordered (just thought it was out of stock) but when I tried to return it, I was told they could not take it back. I asked to speak to a manager to state my case. The owner was actually there (John). I tried to reason that I would be spending the return in the store in store credit and that it was not worth losing a customer over. John said: "You're not a customer, you're a returning customer", insinuating that he had looked at my buying history before coming to talk to me and that I buy and return too often to be considered a GOOD customer. While I have returned a couple of items (who hasn't), I've spent FAR more in there. John then said (and he's the owner mind you) "You're not welcome in this store." I was blown away. Clearly Richardson Bike Mart is only concerned with your dollar and not you. Well, John, I can assure you, I won't BE back. Fortunately, in Dallas, there are MANY other choices for good Local Bike Stores. I'd recommend PLANO CYCLING & FITNESS INC. if anyone reading this wants to have a PLEASANT buying experience. Richardson Bike Mart would rather you simply leave your money on the counter and be on your way.

Kevin (fairly new employee) guided us newbies through all the possible choices of bikes and equipment for us to return to the great sport of cycling. We could not have received better guidance even if Olympic cyclist Matt Baranoski.

I've recently purchased a Specialized road bike, along with several other accessories, from this shop. Being new to road biking, the staff members were very patient and informative in helping me transition into this different style of cycling. With an immediate location to test ride, and a complimentary …

Very rude employees and it's starts at the TOP. I've bought a bike there and I shouldn't have because of the negative vibes from management....taking my business elsewhere in the future. "People will remember how they made you feel" is SO true! I'm giving a one star because I have to.

First off, I very rarely write reviews. Today I went in to get my tubeless MTB tire seated and add some stans. The mechanic who helped me said he didn't know anything about tubeless tires and assumed I wanted a tube put in. I reminded him that I have a tubeless setup and just need some stans and their …

Walked in with my 7 year old nephew yesterday having already made the decision to buy him a bike. I just needed some help sizing him, since he outgrew his previous bike. We walked around that entire store for at least 20 minutes, tried to test ride a bike, spoke to two employees seeking help (blank …

If this place is good enough for Lance Armstrong, it's good enough for us. That's what we have to say about the bike shop that sponsored Armstrong's first cycling team. The place is huge and includes sections for clothing, helmets, shoes, kids, and even a fuel station for picking up protein bars. Basically, everything you need to have a happy ride is here.

Bikes by Trek, Schwinn and other top makers; as well as clothing, shoes, helmets, bike racks and everything else bikers of all levels need.
