“Bad weather the problem”
Hotel wasn't the problem, the weather was awful. We stayed at the golf course location away from the crowd. Beautiful, but when the weather is bad not much to do. Nice spa, pool. I will avoid Florida for awhile.

Nice hotel, poor service
Sadly, a very nice hotel was ruined by the staff as they did not get us checked in until 7 p.m. Then, the room we were given was not even the right room. However, the pools were very nice. But overall, this hotel is NOT up to westin standards.

Very confortable
Rooms are very comfortable with enough space for everything. The pool is very beautiful and right on the beach sand. Staff is very polite and the restaurant and bar from the lobby are very nice.
The only problem is location. Hollywood is 30 min drive from Miami Beach or Downtown.

Exceeded expectations
Even though I spent 10 years living in SoFlo I never experienced the Diplomat. Service was excellent, rooms were great and the staff was everything you would expect from a high end resort. I played the golf club and they too were excellent and the course was in reasonable shape although I expected more for the money.
The hotel was perfect. It had great views of the intercoastal on one side and the ocean on the other. A nice marketplace in the hotel which opened early and stayed open late. Interior space was ample and provided lots of places to gather with friends.\n\nLoved everything about this hotel!
Def. a 4 star hotel/resort was very suprised when i got it while bidding on 4 star hotels in the area. stayed there only one night before going on a cruse. Would have liked to stay longer. Big and Busy
Stayed at Westin Diplomat for New Year's with the wife. You can always count on Westin for room quality (bedding, finishes etc) and this one is no exception. Walls were a little thin though - heard screaming kids and loud parents regularly. The resort is great if you plan to stay on the compound and use the cafe/restaurant/pool/beach. Westin is the BEST
Check in was a breeze. Rec'd dinner reservations for same evening with no problem. This is the best hotel ever -- always stay here when I can. Spa was amazing. Sent my adult children here for a birthday surprise and they also loved it. Highly recommend isn't enough. Only down side is it pricey for valet, beach chairs, etc. but it is worth it!!

Great getaway location
We actually stayed at the sister location, on Diplomat Parkway as it was the location of the wedding that we were attending. The location couldn't be nicer; a golf-course with a resort on it that is located in the middle of a city. I was verrrrrrry disappointed with our stay at the Westin. Hotel food is extremely overpriced. Our room was gross. Carpet was heavily stained, room was very very small. 2 people can not get ready in the bathroom at the same time! Bed linens were old and stained. Pillows felt like stuffed tissue paper. I rented Chiavari Chairs for my wedding reception which were very reasonable in price and they were gorgeous. I got married there so I doubt you can rent them if you are not getting married there but if you are getting married at the Westin Diplomat Hotel or the Diplomat Country club I highly recommend renting the chiavari chairs. They were $4 each.

Revitalizing getaway
It was a wonderful experience. The pools on the ocean side was beautiful. The golf course and spa were relaxing and invigorating. The dining was superb. Stayed here this week. Great hotel with comfortable rooms. The ocean view rooms (on a high floor) are definitely worth the splurge or upgrade. Wifi is not great, but the two level pool and easy access to the beach is fantastic. Pool is well set up with chairs all around. Food at the hotel is lacking, both in terms of casual and fine dining options.

I've had hit or miss experiences with Westin in the past year. The Diplomat, however, is one of the nicer Westins I've been to. The expansive, 2 level pool area is amazing. The fitness center is big, furnished with new gear, and overlooks the ocean. The downside was the wi-fi. Didn't work at all in my room. Not good for business travel.

We arrived at the hotel (3555 S. Ocean Drive, Hollywood, FL), but we were sent to another location which is about 2 miles away from the above address. The package was sold as "sun and beach", but we were put in a golf course hotel. Later, we were told that it is a shared Westin property. Waiters/bartenders etc have been here for YEARS! They make excellent recommendations by asking the poignant questions. Consistently excellent steaks and all around great food. I have now eaten here several times and it's always good. Except for once when a server dropped hot creamed spinach on me. Fortunately, they had him taken out to be flogged. Just kidding, but the manager was SO obsequious afterwards I guessed they might have. Actually I love this place. Not worth it, stay away
I wanted to have a romantic day with a date for valentines and chose this place, it was a huge mistake. The overpricing on this place is too much, the rooms are not 4 star or four and half star which many sites claim. The rooms are small and most of the view is blocked by nearby hotel. The pool's sun is blocked by the building for most of the time as well. They nickel and dime you for all types of charges, parking, water, internet, and the customer service is slow and rude. No apologies on their end. Overpriced by a long shot, save your money and stay somewhere else

This place was almost great, just a little bit too pricey. I had the filet and I was disappointed to see that it was not dry aged since the price was so high. I decided against ordering wine since the alcohol was just outrageously priced. I would avoid this place and look elsewhere for fine dining.
A Big Disappointment!
Despite repeated notice at reservation, reception and sit down, the waiters and the chef served my first three items with forbidden (allergic) ingredients. It made me so sick I had to leave dinner before it was over, ruining my anniversary celebration. Way overpriced for the quality and presentation of the food.

The location is slightly isolated, but has been created into such an oasis of luxury that you don't need to leave the resort. An extremely modern multi story infinity pool overlooking the ocean complete with pay as you go spray tanning, a vast array of dining options, golf, tennis, spa, kid's activities and play areas, and much more.
The resort was beautiful, but my room was below par...there were stains on the floor and found trash on floor behind toilet. I did have an amazing view of the ocean and for the most part the food was very good. it is an odd location not too convenient to anything but if you are just hanging out there it is fine.

The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa on Hollywood Beach is THE perfect hotel to stay at for the ultimate in comfort and ambiance. The "heavenly bed" is unparalleled and the on the ocean view rooms are spectacular and breathtaking. We never wanted to leave!
This is my favorite hotel in the entire world. However, the service was not what it used to be. Front desk was difficult to deal with, made the simplest of things a long drawn out process. Had to call to get room cleaned. Was noisy due to construction. I stayed at the Hilton in Fort Lauderdale beforehand and would recommend it over the Westin Diplomat. Way better value.

The Best Hotel Choice in Broward County
Some people have started staying at the Hard Rock, but this hotel, with its sweeping architecture, great rooms and proximity to the ocean is a much better choice. I would definitely recommend it.

What a rip off. Don't bother!
My husband and I and another couple stayed last month for our anniversary. The customer service was awful. The rooms were EXTREMELY tiny for the price. The bars and restaurants inside the hotel were closed by 11:30. Nikki's marina was closed for repairs and THERE IS NOTHING TO DO within walking distance. We thought we would cram into our $570/night room and play cards or something. We then realized that there was not even a radio in the room. We asked if they had one they could bring up and was then told we couldnt have one because we might make too much noise.

This was the worst 4 star resort or hotel I have ever stayed at. The entire experience made me feel ripped off. I have stayed at many other hotels of the 4 star caliber and this one doesn't fit the bill. Price, service and environment were all factors.

What a Great Place to Bring the Kids
This is a fantastic hotel. Its architecture is lovely. The play of water in inside fountains and the two great pools are beautiful. We loved our trip and will come back again and again.
WOW
The most incredible hotel I've been to in any city. Over a quarter billion to build with 2 level pools with a see through floor. Incredible decor matched only by the views from the rooms. The beach was all of 4 feet wide at high tide - not impressive but no one went there. The only trouble is that it's built in a dumpy neighborhood. A shuttle will take you to a terrific golf course and relaxing spa.

BEST STEAK
I have eaten at almost every top steak house and would say this is the best Rib Eye available. The Mushroom side is also the best I've ever had. Wine has been marked up too much but that is not unusual at your high end restaurants. The wine list offers a great range of wines in price, quality, etc.
