Help us make it rightThe Diplomat is a 1,060-room, full-service beach resort -- the only one of its kind in the somewhat desolate area -- loaded with amenities. The main building is a 39-story oceanfront tower surrounded by 8 acres of man-made lakes. A gorgeous bridged, glass-bottom pool with waterfalls, private cabanas, and a slew of watersports adds a tropical touch. Rooms are a cross between those in a subtle...
Westin Hotels and Resorts cater to families with children from the moment they step in the door to check-in, up until their vacation is...
The world-renowned old Diplomat Hotel, where the notorious (such as Al Capone) and famous (Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack) once held court, has sadly been leveled. A new, larger and more luxurious Westin Diplomat resort has taken its place. The signature restaurant, decorated in rich dark woods and leather, evokes the warm, posh feeling of a classic steakhouse. Everything, from all your...
What's Special About the Westin Diplomat: Trademark Heavenly Beds, soft earthtones and dramatic views lure guests away from the Fort Lauderdale strip. This huge resort has 209,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, a lagoon-like pool on the beach, golf course and spa. Guest Rooms and Rates: Rates from about $250.
Thirty-nine-story beachfront hotel with art deco accents houses 998 guest rooms on the Atlantic Ocean's edge.
Hotel wasn't the problem, the weather was awful. We stayed at the golf course location away from the crowd. Beautiful, but when the weather is bad not much to do. Nice spa, pool. I will avoid Florida for awhile.
Gorgeous lobby, pools and landscaping! Great restaurants (including Starbucks coffee) but pricey! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend it to all!
Beautiful hotel. Gorgeous pools and beach. Lots of chairs at the pool. Hotel staff very helpful. We had a wonderful time.
I LOVED this hotel. I was just looking for a quick weekend getaway and as soon as I walked in the place, I was charmed. It even SMELLED good in the lobby (like aromatherapy). Everything about it was lovely.
Very Friendly stuff and nice amenities. Definitely would return
I had a great time. I love the pool and beach option.
The service and attention by staff was excellent.
The Westin is a great resort. I loved the Heavenly Bed and the Heavenly Bath. The food was delicious (both from the poolside restaurant/bar and room service) and worth the high price. I recommend getting a room with an ocean view and balcony. The hotel gym is also great... view of the ocean and individual televisions/earphones provided for all machines. One drawback of vacationing here is the...
Excellent
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very accomodating. Loved the pools and easy access to the beach. Take advantage of the trolley because parking can be hard to find and expensive. The views of the ocean from the rooms isincredible and the balconies are situated so you can enjoy a morning coffee and not see any other rooms. The starbucks in the room was a great start to the day. There is...
Everything about this hotel is top notch. The only complaint I have is that the in-room internet service was slow and at not available at times.
Wonderful beach and great access. Great location. Super service. I read the other reviews before we left so I was paying attention to the items discussed and cussed. I was very happy with the parking. I was very happy with room service. I think when you go to a high class hotel you have to expect to pay a little extra. All in all this was a very special experience. This was our third trip to...
Super! great location, superb breakfast, beautiful ocean!
The hotel was great. Nice condition, modern and new which are things that we look for. Fantastic ocean view. Rooms were comfortable and the pool and beach areas were nice. I think that the surroundings weren't that great. Not a lot to do walking distance from the hotel but there were many restaurants in the hotel instead.
The Westin Diplomat was simply amazing. As you walk into the lobby you are handed a cold bottle of water for your refreshment. The whole lobby smells of their signature scent White Tea Aloe. the water falls and tall ceilings are amazing. The rooms are beautiful and the ameneties are great. The pool areas are fun and spacious and the staff is very courteous. I can not say enough of this hotel....
Friendly and helpful not to mention beautiful
Although it is a HUGE hotel, it was very easy checking in. If you have kids, it is awesome. Was staying with my son for a Dolphins game and it was perfect. Not sure my wife would like it as a "getaway."
This hotel is great for family or romantic getaway. We traveled with two toddlers and the staff and service were great!!!!! Definetly would go back.
beautiful hotel, amenities were fantastic...great pools, restaurants, little coffee shop, pool bar, beach small but clean...staff was amazing in their courtesy and friendliness. liked their "green" policy...skip room clean & get $5 towards hotel food! gorgeous lobby,,even the elevators didn't keep you waiting...great place!
Lovely hotel. It could use a coffee shop that is open all day....the sheet on the bed need to be replaced...they should have fitted sheets...inthe morning you awoke with a mass of sheets around you. The service is superb....staff very friendly - location good...pools wonderful. Loved it ...
Hotel is beautiful with a wonderful pool that accommodates adults as well as children. There are many restaurants from casual to elegant. Room was extremely clean and beds were very comfortable.
The hotel was amazing!!! Great customer service and a beautiful hotel. We were booked in a room with 2 dbl beds, and they changed our room last min to a king.. Very happy with our stay and would highly recommend to others.
Sadly, a very nice hotel was ruined by the staff as they did not get us checked in until 7 p.m. Then, the room we were given was not even the right room. However, the pools were very nice. But overall, this hotel is NOT up to westin standards.
I swear I wrote a tripadvisor review for this hotel but it is no longer here...I feel so strongly about our experience that I'm submitting again. Maybe I was dreaming the first time...or having a nightmare.
1. Management needs a top down makeover -- the front office personnel are rude, flippant, and pretend to care. If you aren't standing on...
the hotel is beautiful. The service however, is not on par with the quality of the hotel and expectations of reasonable service. We are staying in a suit on the 31st floor with 2 kids. Right next door there is a wild party going on by the members of the Reebok Global Brand conference, The hotel appears to be unwilling...
This was my 3rd stay at this hotel in the past 4 years, always in March. The hotel is interesting looking and has nice common areas. My favorite upgrade is the change in the coffee shop place in the lobby. They now make salads, sandwiches, and have a to go area with snacks and drinks. The downside is that it...
This is a huge and very busy hotel which ticks lots of boxes if you are looking for a week on the beach. The rooms are very nice, the lobby coffee bar is great with a good selection of breakfast items. Nice but pricey restaurant on lobby level. Front guest- very helpful but very busy, expect to stand in line...
Special pools, waterfalls, cabanas, seating, pool bar...its just everything you need right on the beach. Watersports available without leaving the property! Great for couples or families! The onsite restaurants are amazing! Sushi bar, steak and seafood restaurant, starbucks onsite!
I stayed here for 2 days for a public relations conference in room 1631. While the views from the room were terrific and the individuals who checked me into and out of the hotel were both incredibly nice, the concierge service is the most useless I have ever encountered. I approached them twice in a very friendly manner for suggestions...
My wife attended a conference here, and I tagged along. Great experience! The resort is beautiful, the staff is fantastic, the pools are huge, the beach is great, and rooms are some of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in! Will definitely return.
The hotel is fabulous and most of the staff friendly. The front desk seemed under staffed with long lines and frowns to go with. However once get past the unfriendly front desk, the rest is great. This was our first stay, let's hope it was an isolated incident. We had a double charge on the room for $800, brought it...
My wife and I stayed here while I attended a business conference in the attached convention center. The convention center is first class. The facilities are clean and attractive, the service by the wait staff during lunches and breaks was excellent, as was the food. I would recommend it for anyone planning a conference.
With regard to the hotel, there...
We booked two nights and paid for both nights in advance. We also confirmed our room the day of our arrival letting the hotel know we would not be in till very late, we arrived at the hotel at 3am just as we had informed the hotel that we would. We checked in at valet, went to the hotel desk...
I'm a tagalong on a business conference for this trip. The hotel room is very nice, two walls of windows, room 730. The view non existent, but I don't complain. The bathroom is spacious, separate water closet, rain shower, and a large tub. Odd placement of light switches, just a minor annoyance.
The food and drinks here is expensive. So...
This is the second time I have visited the Westin hollywood for a conference. On that front the hotel does well as it has great conference facilities and it is a very large hotel that can accomodate large groups. The downside is that when checking in/out at the beginning or end of the conference there can be long lines and...
We only stayed at the Westin Diplomat one night as we were flying in the night before a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale. Given just that one night's stay, our time there was excellent. Beautiful lobby, amazing pool and perfect ocean views. Christopher at check-in was courteous, funny and just really made us feel like we were at home. He...
World class hotel located midway between Miami and Ft Lauderdale. This is my fourth stay and I never cease to enjoy arriving to gracious service and a luxurious reception. I get to my room,
eager to get poolside and a stroll along the lushious sandy beach. The Diplomat has a relaxed
atmosphere maybe due to the fact that is not in...
This hotel has very poor treatment for Starwood Platinum members. SPG Gold/Platinum check in line was non-existant. Received no upgrade to a premium room, and was placed in a basic room on one of the lowest floors. Instead of having an a view of the ocean, I had a view of HVAC chiller equipment. Wait time to speak to a...
The Diplomat is a great hotel if you are looking for something that will allow access to both Ft Lauderdale and Miami. The Hotel itself is wonderful with plenty amenities and a great staff. Plenty of parking across the street with a little shopping setup too. I get a rental car when I go to Florida and the Diplomat is...
If you are required to hold a meeting for a big group, you could do a lot worse than the Westin Diplomat.
This is a big and decidedly uncozy facility. Notwithstanding the size, the service and available amenities were more than satisfactory. Room service options were acceptable. The accomodations themselves were more than ample for a business traveler without being...
Overall we had a nice experience. We were there 2/27-3/3 for convention/vacation. Unfortunately we had cold weather so couldn't enjoy the beach as much, but hotel doesn't control weather. Rooms were clean and nice with great views if your ocean side. Beds were awesome. Our only complaint was slow service in the restaurants. At Rivals we set our stop watch...
My boyfriend and I took his kids to the Diplomat for a quickie overnight "vacation" & had a blast, the pool is BIG & comfortable & the staff was very nice & accommodating. We enjoyed lunch pool side & the breakfast room was great....til I ate Zabrina's blueberries without asking...don't ask :)
Once again a great experience at the Diplomat.
Beautiful suite.
$30 + tip taxi to/fro airport for this short visit instead of insane car rental prices and the near $30 valet charge per night....
Pools were nicely heated despite the chilly morning temps. Beach area groomed nicely.
Food at Rivals, Splash and the breakfast Buffet was overpriced as most things...
I stayed at this hotel on 3/2/13 for business. I liked it so much, I am returning with my family the third week in April. The hotel is spotless. Rooms appealing and bed so comfortable. The beach is a stone's throw from the pool area. You can catch the water taxi to downtown Ft. Lauderdale too. Since there is no...
Hollywood seems a little "beat down". The hotel was nice, but even at the conference rate it seemed a bit steep for what it is. Had a nice room with a balcony, clean, comfortable, just as it should be. Pools were nice as well as the beach.
I visited the Westin Diplomat for a congress in October/November 2012. I preferred the hotel, because the congress was hosted there, but the rooms were very expensive. Because the hotel was fully booked, there was zero choice in room types and I even could not get a sea view room. Apparently there are plenty of people or organizations prepared to...
There are not many beachfront hotels in the Hallandale / Hollywood area, and not many of this size, structure and quality. Had to say it was a little too "Las Vegas supersized" for my taste but no worries, it is a true modern Florida hotel atmosphere.
Got upgraded to a junior suite or of the sorts, with an ample living...
This was my 4th stay at this Westin and will go back the next time I’m in or around Miami. Not much around the hotel but if you are planning on not going anywhere this is a great place for a conference, family get away or a romantic weekend..
As we have family very close by, we stay here about twice a year, as there is nothing this nice in the immediate vicinity. The place is beautiful but dysfunctional. That lobby is one of the most stunning ever. And also the only location with free wifi, so there's always tons of people on their laptops in the lobby. But...
The most beautiful Hotel I've visited in my life! Everything is done to perfection! Lobby was huge - service was second to none. Marble everywhere, infinity edge pools and fountains... Waterfalls and double decker pool - WOW! I thought It was a nice to call the service desk and to have them answer me by name - great touch. Room...
We booked this hotel from a 3rd party site, and stayed one night, prior to a cruise in Ft. Lauderdale. Let me say, the hotel is stunning. The grounds are stunning. Service and Rooms also equally just as good.
Main Lobby, Grounds, Pool Area -
All very stunning, very well kept. I have uploaded photos to display the lobby and...
Rooms are very comfortable with enough space for everything. The pool is very beautiful and right on the beach sand. Staff is very polite and the restaurant and bar from the lobby are very nice.
The only problem is location. Hollywood is 30 min drive from Miami Beach or Downtown.
Stayed here in June of 2011 and just had to write a review on this wonderful BIG well run resort! I booked on the net to save a few $$ and it was well worth it! Stayed in an ocean balcony room WAY up on 30th floor! WHAT A VIEW, you can see up and down on what seems like...
Great rooms with great views.\n\nN/A\n\nGreat luxurious hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Amazing comfortable beds and well appointed comfortable rooms with great amenities. Beautiful swimming pools and beach access. Wish I could stay there for a month. Has a resort type atmosphere. A+++++
most luxury/beach front hotels write their own rules. Not here, I was able to get my room at a reasonable time, the staff was great and facility was a great place for a conference. I left two items in my room, and had them shipped back to me in no time. Club level and club was outstanding. pool looked good,...
I was here on a business trip. The property is beautiful and elegant- gorgeous pool, lots of beach views, nice bar area, etc. but I had very inconsistent maid service in my room. Several days I had breaks from my meetings and went to my room mid-day or early afternoon, and it still hadn't been made up. One day, it...
Just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel. We checked in at approximately 1pm and requested a room with a view of the water or at least a balcony. We were told by 2 different people that the hotel was fully booked and they could not accomodate either request. Seriously, everyone had checked into the hotel by the...
From the moment we arrived all our needs were more than satisfied. Molly , the consierge was amazing. Room was spacious, more than comfortable and the bathroom was great, especially the soaker tub! The view from our balcony beautiful. Elevators were very fast and very little wait time. The pool and infinity pool were very clean and wonderful to play...
We came here for 4 days to de-Disney (cruise). Room was clean, modern and upscale with bathroom that has sliding doors over soaker tub opening into room; open the glass veranda door to listen to the ocean while soaking. Great 2 level pool area with infinity pool on upper level and larger pool on lower level with cabana rental, modern...
The staff was 5star. There public areas were fantastic.\n\nThe room was average in size and not a good view out the windows.
this hotel over exceed the best can't wait to come back but if want to continue enjoy your stay make sure you can afford valet to store your car and you have your own snacks and mini bar in room the bathroom so nice you can just sleep their?\n\nnothing everything was great!\n\nthis hotel is luxury !all the way i would not book if your staying one night cause will cry next morning you have to...
Our 3rd experience at the Westin Diplomat was as good as the others.
We got a room upgrade and were put on the 26th floor with a partial beach view.
Parking: across the street, for a fee
Internet: great wireless connection, for a fee
Attended a conference at the Westin. We chose to book through one of the last minute hotel travel sites - saved considerably off conference rate. Room upgrade to balcony with view of beach and bay. Extremely comfortable bed. Enjoyed our stay.
This past long weekend we visited Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood Florida. We were visiting with our 3.5 year old son. The resort property is beautiful with multiple pools and with its own private beach. It has multiple restaurants with child friendly menus. Also a quick cafe with many things like milk, salad, ice-cream, cookies and chips to go. The...
My husband & I needed to escape with out kids for a few few days and spent 3 nights here, We had been here before for a conference and knew we would like it. We got the grand deluxe room to get ocean view and it is worth the upgrade. The pool and beach are fabulous. It rained alot when...
the hotel was fabulous, beautiful and so ritzy. Loved every moment of our stay. The beach was beautiful but the cabanas were expensive. the pool very clean and refreshing, not crowded to suntan and friendly people. The staff were very polite & efficient.\n\nI wish we would of bidded on this one before, loved the location.\n\nthe only problem was that you had to pay so much for cabanas, you...
The rooms were very nice.\n\nEverything was an extra charge - EVERYTHING! Couldn't even sit on the beach for free. RIDICULOUS!\n\nI thought that this was the biggest waste of money ever. The room may be fairly reasonable but they offer NO amenities. Everything that you could possibly want is offered at an additional fee. Couldn't even sit on the beach. Don't go unless your pockets are...
it is a great property, great grounds.\n\nI have stayed here a few times, I would just say try to avoid the rooms on the corner with windows on two sides.
Beautiful hotel with a great location right on the long, white beach. Fast and courteous check in, room was very functional, spacious and clean with a wrap around terrace (stayed on the Club level). A/C unit was a bit noisy coming on though, especially when you were trying to sleep.
2 great pools, one with partially glass floor looking down...
We stayed here for 2 nights pre-cruise in Jan.2013. Upon arrival you will notice that this resort is quite impressive and the doormen and valet are very quick to help. Entering the lobby you will be taken aback by the lovely lobby with about 30 large palm trees, a beautiful water feature, lots of tropical flower arrangements and lots of...
This is a fantastic property. Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. I only wish the weather had been a bit nicer. We had a perfect room, loved the tub! The view was amazing. Watching the ships arriving and departing from both port of Miami & Ft. Lauderdale. The beach was never very crowded. You can hop on the Trolley right...
We got a great deal on this hotel on Hotwire. It was the destination for a meeting event and we could not have been happier that we secured the reservation. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. I don't get to South Florida often but would definitely recommend the Westin!
Have stayed at this facility once a year with up to 23 others for our annual tennis tournament. This year the hotel shut down the remote hotel, had moved the spa, got rid of newspapers to SPG members, disturbed me at 0800 to clean my room, had no towels ready for our group of 24 on the tennis courts, no...
Attended a conference at the Westin. Even though I booked two months before the conference, I did not receive the conference rate to stay two extra days and the reservation agent had to make 3 separate reservations to accommodate my additional days, and I was not guaranteed to stay in the same room. I had asked for a high floor...
Stayed at the Diplomat from 02/16 to 02/22.
Room was very clean and comfortable w/ a fabulous view. Especially loved the desk accents!
Due to its location and that we did not have a car with us, there were very few options in terms of food or beverage. I felt that the Westin took full advantage of this situation, charging...
We were fortunate enough to have an ocean view which was breathtaking. Service was great and the food was good. I was surprised that you had to pay for chairs and umbrellas at the beach. They aren't cheap, but worth it as the pool is very shady. Jetskiing is reasonabIe and offered onsite at the beach...$80 for a 1/2 hour...
Staying at this resort with my two small children and my husband is here on a conference. My first impression of this hotel was amazing. We were able to check in at 11am and we stayed in a suite (no balcony) over looking the ocean. The location is good since you are on the beach.
Here are some pros and...
Even though I spent 10 years living in SoFlo I never experienced the Diplomat. Service was excellent, rooms were great and the staff was everything you would expect from a high end resort. I played the golf club and they too were excellent and the course was in reasonable shape although I expected more for the money.
The hotel was perfect. It had great views of the intercoastal on one side and the ocean on the other. A nice marketplace in the hotel which opened early and stayed open late. Interior space was ample and provided lots of places to gather with friends.\n\nLoved everything about this hotel!
Def. a 4 star hotel/resort was very suprised when i got it while bidding on 4 star hotels in the area. stayed there only one night before going on a cruse. Would have liked to stay longer. Have stayed in the other 2 four star hotels in hollywood, this one is way better then them. Good luck bidding for it.
Public spaces, pools, beach location\n\nCar parking and WIFI is expensive\n\nExcellent hotel with great public spaces and pools right on beach.
great hotel\n\nparking fee\n\nno computers with free internet
The staff were exceptional in every regard. The design, features, space, attention to detail was all exceptional.\n\nThe beach was filthy. Littered with garbage, empty beverage containers and general debris from the sea. It was also a very disorganized space.\n\nThe staff were exceptional in every regard. The design, features, space, attention to detail was all exceptional. Sadly, the beach was...
Location, lobby, and gym are all great. The pools are spectacular and the beach is great.\n\nBusiness center. I just needed to print out a document and they want to charge $0.40/page. That's ridiculous. The Marriott down the street gives you free access to printers. Parking - the valet can be jammed up at times and you can\n\nExcellent hotel in the Hollywood area - in fact, it's the best by...
Beautiful ocean view, close to Gulfstream Park.\n\nThis is our favorite hotel in the Hallandale Beach area. We've stayed here numerous times and have always loved it!
The hotel is BEAUTIFUL! OMG I loved the staff. They made me feel right at home. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and most remembered me from the first day I checked in.\n\nI loved everything.\n\nThis hotel is very classy and upscale. The staff is very friendly. It was very clean and such a lively atmosphere! It was so beautiful. The valet parking staff was amazing. Everyone needs to...
Elegance!\n\nI would be hard pressed to find something!\n\nWe stayed at this hotel for two nights after a cruise in late January. We booked it with a great price on Priceline. It is without a doubt the most beautiful hotel at which we have ever stayed. We came off the cruise ship and arrived late morning. Although it was only 11:30 a.m., our room was ready for us. We asked for a room with an...
This resort is absolutely beautiful. It even has its own traffic light on A1A! Great beach...perfect location...easy to get around.
Great room, spacious!Fantastic oceanview and skyline! Great amenities!\n\nLoved everything\n\nBeautiful hotel, helpful and courteous staff.
Excelent hotel exelent staff very clean hotel fair parking price very nice ground and spa and they also have a adult swimming pool and sona hot or colt great hotel
Location\n\nExpensive over night parking charges.\n\nThe hotel forgot to clean my room...Never enjoyed any room cleaning. Therefore, dirty towels and unmaid bed.
We checked in late to the hotel and were told that the room we had reserved and paid for was unavailable and that the next morning they would move us that room. The next day came and after a couple of calls we were finally told that they were sold out and couldn't help us. This was our anniversary trip and certainly could have done a lot better than that!!!!
Staff was excellent\n\nHotel was nice, food was pricey but they offered a reasonable alternative take out at a place called "some assembly required" that eased the pocket burden. The location in Hollywood was just OK for a four star hotel. The surrounding town is a less than upscale. However, there is some good restaurants and the Gulfstream complex nearby offers some entertainment, casino,...
The people are very nice and helpful. The front desk staff (especially Courtney) were welcoming and accommodating. The fact I booked through Priceline made no difference. I'm sure I was treated just as if I would have booked through the hotel directly. I \n\nParking is expensive and a bit inconvienient.\n\nThis place is a great hotel. Extremely clean. Attentive and friendly staff. Very high...
great rooms great view great staff right on the ocean great for walks awesome enterance
and WESTIN always treat you great no matter how you booked the room\n\nall hotels and condos in the area not many local restaurants
This is truly a 4 star hotel, with a great pool area.
The quality exceded expectations\n\nno\n\nthis hotel was perfect in every way from the ocean views, to the huge pools, friendly and helpful staff, and large clean and comfortable rooms
Fabulous rooms with gorgeous views!\n\nFantastic luxury resort! Gorgeous views and outstanding service and amenities.
Great location on the beach. It was also the home of the Florida State University football team for the orange ball. It is a great place for people watching.
Wonderful property. Great amenities and pools. Rooms were spacious and first class all the way.\n\nThe front desk was understaffed 2 of the 3 times I went there.\n\nI highly recommend this resort.
Advertised hotel was on the beach but when we got there, we were told to go to another location about a mile away to a golf resort hotel which was nice also but not what was advertised
it was ok\n\nYes, the location. When we arrived at the above mentioned hotel we where told that we are booked in one of their other locations. Not on the beach.\n\nWhen you bid on a hotel make sure that there is only one in the location. Our bid was accepted in a Beach hotel when we got to the hotel we where told that we are booked in their other hotel far away from the beach. What a ripp !!
Stayed at Westin Diplomat for New Year's with the wife. You can always count on Westin for room quality (bedding, finishes etc) and this one is no exception. Walls were a little thin though - heard screaming kids and loud parents regularly. The resort is great if you plan to stay on the compound and use the cafe/restaurant/pool/beach. Just be ready to pay for it.WIRELESS INTERNET - costs...
Excellent location with a first class resort.\n\nI loved the hotel, jsut not excited about the view from the room. We were placed in the side unit which gave us a direct view of the condo to the side. Very hard to see the ocean or the water way from the room.\n\nThe resort as a whole is incredible. Just make sure you ask where the room is located and if it is what you are expecting.
great rooms and everything on site\n\nin winter when the building blocks the sun at the pool, it is hard to find a chair in the sun.
The staff was THE BEST! Awesome! Very helpful.\n\nNothing...everything was excellent\n\nThis was an escape weekend for my daughter and I, and escape it was. Didn't want to go back home. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Wonderful wonderful wonderful experience.
The upstairs pool is child friendly and heated as well as fake salt water. Which I thought was a nice change to chlorine pool.\n\nI would recommend if you are with child and you get a play yard for your child to sleep in to also ask for sheets and a pillow while at check in.\n\nI think this hotel is GREAT and really child friendly if you are a traveling parent. It is 20min north of south beach...
The ammentities at this hotel are the best in the location. The pools are great and the beach location is great. The staff at the hotel is extremely helpful and courteous. A great family hotel, a great place to take your kids!\n\nNope\n\nGreat Hotel for a family getaway!
Amazing lobby, exquisite rooms. The entire hotel smells amazing. Super clean.\n\nCheck in took a while. There is room for improvement on the check in procedure.\n\nGreat value, upscale hotel with great amenities and beautiful, spacious, clean rooms.
It is a beautiful hotel with wonderful, bright rooms. Always top of the line.\n\nEverything was great.\n\nYou must set time aside to enjoy the pool.
It was nice and quiet. It was a break from the noise of South Beach.\n\nThe breakfast buffet was just okay. Nothing special.\n\nTh staff was VERY friendly. Never had to wait for the elevator. The location was awesome. It is the perfect place to escape.
The interior of the hotel is amazing , staff is friendly , the lobby store is well stocked.
Our stay was part of a getaway package, and we paid less than the regular room rate. This hotel is first rate, and it's in a great location. We had an ocean view that was lovely. Staff was courteous. Overall, a great stay.My only complaint deals with the ergonomics of the bathroom. The shower stall has a marble base that sticks out about an inch further than the walls of the stall, and both of...
The location and room.\n\nLack of parking. Parking cost $20/day.\n\nHotel was a great location for what we were looking for - about 30 minutes from the airport. The major downside was the lack of free public parking. Parking was either $20/day in a garage across the street or $25/day by valet. We had rented a car and didn't know about this expense at the hotel.
WE loved the comfort of the bed, friendly andhelpful staff, location on the beach, and the exceptional food at the restaurant\n\nParking was not cheap\n\nWe stayed here prior to going on a cruise. We wish we would have skipped the cruise and stayed here the whole time
Pure class overall\n\nWas hard to get to. Had to pay to park. All the food was expensive!!\n\nThis hotel was like a little bit of heaven in a congested area.We enjoyed our stay. Would stay there again
I was at a conference for work. The facilities were excellent, staff was friendly and the dining was exquisite!
The hotel lobby\n\nNo activities\n\nPretty, clean, and overall a nice hotel. They definitely cater more towards the business traveler as food and drinks were very expensive. Also, parking costs $25 per night.
24 hr coffee store; business center; location; excellent staff.\n\n"heavenly mattresses" always a problem for my back; too soft. Prefer firm athlete's mattresses.\n\nExcellent hotel; best in Ft Lauderdale.
Very nice staff.\n\nAdvertised as a beach site, but room was at alternate location (golf course).\n\nOlder property in generally good condition with some exceptions (ancient TV). Very nice staff.
Overall, it was a great experience from the room to the service to the atmosphere.
Beautiful hotel, great location andhelpful staff.\n\nExcessive charges for long distance phone calls.\n\nWould have no complaints except the inordinately high charge for long distance calls.
The lobby was amazing. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable\n\nThe nightstand was not dust properly and was therefore a bit stuffy. But it was not that bad either.\n\nGreat Resort and I had a great time staying there. The guy that checked me in (Rohan I think his name is) was very friendly and made me feel welcome.
Location\n\nRestaurant prices high and especially breakfast.\n\nGreat location on beach. Well staffed. Not too far from airports. Superior convention facilities.
Very good location, excellent rooms.\n\n
The safe in the room would not open. I had a very important appointment at 7 in the evening. The hotel staff did not respond very speedily and took almost two hours to fix the problem, as a result I missed my appointment.
The view was magnificent. The weather was perfect. The people were friendly. I loved it.\n\nWe had to pay to park.\n\nI would definitely go again.
Very clean and right on the beach.\n\nHad to pay for WiFi and to use the room phone.\n\nWell worthto stay per night.
best place we have ever traveled to. recommend the hotel Westin Diplomat
Very nice hotel, clean and friendly staff. Pool is excellent and location on beach is great for walks.Poolside bar and restaurant is convenient and daily newspaper is a bonus. We will definitely go back.
Check in was a breeze. Rec'd dinner reservations for same evening with no problem. This is the best hotel ever -- always stay here when I can. Spa was amazing. Sent my adult children here for a birthday surprise and they also loved it. Highly recommend isn't enough. Only down side is it pricey for valet, beach chairs, etc. but it is worth it!!
The resort itself was fabulous! Attentive and courteous staff in a very clean and well-appointed facility! The surrounding area left a bit to be desired in terms of things to do outside of the resort. The Broadwalk was easily accessible via the trolley but while housing several restaurants/bars and shops was slightly trashy. From was I saw, this resort is the best thing in the area. The pools...
First off, my wife and I went to the hotel expecting a resort/spa atmosphere, however, the atmosphere was quite chaotic with unsupervised kids running everywhere. During our trip, 2 kids went missing because their parents and guardians were drinking instead of watching them. I was jumped on, splashed, kicked, and pushed in the pool because parents were too busy drinking to watch their kids. I...
Best pool and deck in the area. We could tell because we stayed at the 30th floor and got a pretty good view of the neighborhood. We also studied the area in detail before booking. Hollywood is an excellent location convenient to both Fort Lauderdale and Miami. The Westin is clean and modern as usual. The staff at the Diplomat are the nicest I have ever met in the world. And I travel...
The hotel was not that bad but there were so many kids there. Its more family ariented. If you are looking for a place with family atmosphere, then that is the place for you. Overall not bad!
Everything went fine after checkin. I booked the trip for the beach location. When we checked in, the hotel tried to say it was for the golf course location. When booking, there was a distinct difference between the two and I specifically made the reservation for the beach. We were told at the desk, that they don't guarantee the location. My husband had to talk to a manager for them to put us...
The hotel is beautiful...nice location and certainly one of the best pools I have seen...but too crowded
This was our first time in Hollywood on a meeting/vacation trip during June. We booked an ocean front room and it was worth every penny. Feels like we're on a cruise when we walked out on the balcony. Great view and the rainbow outside our balcony after a slight drizzle was an added bonus. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Extremely comfortable beddings. We could look out to the ocean...
Elegant hotel with a gorgeous view!
We actually stayed at the sister location, on Diplomat Parkway as it was the location of the wedding that we were attending. The location couldn't be nicer; a golf-course with a resort on it that is located in the middle of a city. We were a short walk away from a little mall with a Starbucks and Panera, but the hotel and the grounds were gorgeous. The hotel really is a destination for golfers...
I was verrrrrrry disappointed with our stay at the Westin. Hotel food is extremely overpriced. Our room was gross. Carpet was heavily stained, room was very very small. 2 people can not get ready in the bathroom at the same time! Bed linens were old and stained. Pillows felt like stuffed tissue paper. I will never stay at the Westin again, or Hollywood Beach for that matter!!
I had such a great experience from beginning to end with the Westin Diplomat. I had gone to so many places and nowehere else compared to the Westin. You get such a beautiful resort , great food and the best service. Terry Longo was amazing!!!! Anytime I had a question or a problem she answered and solved them. She was so pleasant to deal with. Planning a wedding can be very stressfull time...
The Westin Diplomat speaks for itself with its setting and truly stunning location. This review is more focused on the remarkably helpful, professional, detail-oriented, friendly staff you will find there. Malely Cowan was remarkable in her job - one tiny example out of hundreds: the day of the wedding, she personally arrived to my bridal suite to take care of last minute details we'd...
As a wedding planner, I work in many venues. I have worked at The Westin Diplomat numerous times and it is on the top of my list for many reasons. The resort is beautiful, and the food and service is impeccable. My last wedding there was with Terry Longo as the Catering Manager, and it was perfect down to the last detail. My bride and her family were thrilled and the whole wedding exceded...
I worked with Terry Longo, she is fantastic! very involved, extremely helpful and there for you. She was my "wedding planner", totally handled any issues (and trust me we had a florist debacle) with professionalism and made sure we had a wonderful experience. Everything turned out beautiful, i was extremely happy with the westin diplomat for my wedding venue. My guests loved it, they thought it...
A very good place to get married and a good services. Terry is the best!
I just got married at The Diplomat Country Club and I could not have been happier. The venue was beautiful and exactly the way I pictured it with the elegant and romantic theme filling the air. The staff was really nice and the hotel coordinator could not have been more helpful. We got compliments from our guests all night regarding the food and ambiance. It was definitely a night and...
I was elated to have our ceremony and reception at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa. The hotel is extraordinarily beautiful and the minute you enter, you feel as though you are entering a retreat. The wedding coordinator and all of the staff were helpful and professional. They eased us through the day with comfort and grace. I cannot thank them for the awesome service they provided. I would...
I am an Event Coordinator and had the pleasure of working with Terry Longo. I was more than impress on how organized she and the hotel staff were. They were all hands on from begining to end of the event... always with a smile and a solution to every or any situation.I congratulate the Westin Diplomat for having such great staff, that after all stand behind their name.Looking forward to more...
Very professional, know and think of all the little details. The coordinator Terry really cared and paid attention to all the details as if it was her own wedding!!!! Thank you so much everyone for helping us to make our special day so magical!!!
We loved the Westin Diplomat. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. They put us in a wrap around suite with a view of the beach and the intracoastal. The wedding was beautiful. The wonderful view and the people at the hotel made a great weekend for us. The food was great. I would definetly recommend them.
Beautiful Venue, Professional responsive Team, Delicious food - our ceremony was on North Palm Terrace and the reception was at the Hollywood Prime. Everyone was helpful and flexible. What a great experience. The only thing was,They did not have a complementary room for us and the rates for our block of rooms were not discounted. Their Presentation services forgot to set up AV at the hollywood...
My wedding at the Westin Diplomat was amazing! Terry Longo & the rest of the Diplomat staff were wonderful to work with & truly helped to make my wedding the wedding my of my dreams!
I have to say that I had a hard time reviewing the westin because leading up to the wedding I had such a hard time dealing with them it seemed like everything was a problem and I was always checking my contract to see if I was getting what I paid for. But the location I chose the golf resort was so beautiful and not so popular that everyone had been to a dozen weddings there plus I had signed...
terry was greati was very happy with the way everything turned out
If you are searching for a spectacular beach wedding, then the Westin Diplomat is the right place. Terry Longo, Catering Manager and Coordinator is extremely professional and most impressively she makes an honest effort to work and stay within your budget.
The service was awesome and the staff very helpful and with the best attitude always. A special thanks to Terry Longo for all the assistance and patience she had with all of us...you guys are the best!!!
I rented Chiavari Chairs for my wedding reception which were very reasonable in price and they were gorgeous. I got married there so I doubt you can rent them if you are not getting married there but if you are getting married at the Westin Diplomat Hotel or the Diplomat Country club I highly recommend renting the chiavari chairs. They were $4 each.
Our wedding ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful! The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Our special thanks to Carolyn Horton, Director of Catering, who went above and beyond our expectations and made this a very special day for us. Thank you, thank you! Beatrice & Giovani
The staff and the wedding coordinator at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa were absolutely wonderful. From the day I entered the hotel , it was like entering a spa. The great aroma that loafs through the air, the high ceilings with natural light streaming in, the lavish fountain in the lobby, and even the front door courtesy of the hotel staff is impressive. I knew my guests would love the...
It was a wonderful experience. The pools on the ocean side was beautiful. The golf course and spa were relaxing and invigorating. The dining was superb. You did not have to leave the resort for anything. Everything was at your finger tips. I would recommend this vacation for singles as well as families. There is something for everyone.
Good steakhouse, not the best for us, but definitely WORTH TO GO. Drinks are AMAZING - go for strawberry martini (and i don't even like martinis!) MUST have is KOBE BEEF steak, and that's what makes this steakhouse special. Sides excellent, and we do love caviar appetizer plate - even the price is steep $100 - it is pretty good. Service friendly and bartenders DEFINITELY KNOW what they are...
OK, but the valet parking was normally slow with the service, once even 30 minute wait.
All-around amazing hotel! Staff was friendly, location was great, and room was beautiful! Beach and pool were relaxing, gorgeous, and clean. Couldn't have asked for a better stay and would recommend to anybody!
I had the French Onion soup and my husband had the Lobster Bisque to start, both were delicious. He had rack of lamb and I had the Fillet. Again fantastic. Loved the White Chedar Mashed as well. Our waiter was very knowledgable and we enjoyed a lovely conversation toward the end of the evening after most of the other guests left. He was able to provide excellent information about the local...
Everything was fantastic! This hotel is the best! Pool and beach areas are very clean.
The lamb chops were incredible, the best I've ever had.
Good, friendly staff, location is perfect, great dining, pool, close to everything
good service, nice hotel, good envirment if you have kids but not for singles. the pool too busy with small childern, loud. better show up to the pool at 8 am other wise the sunny spots around the pool are taken.as a single person next time i will stay some place else.
We stayed between Nov. 17 and Nov 21. 2011.The Hotel Was Very Clean,Well Decorated and Staff Very Helpful. The Pool Area Was Clean And Beautiful. There Is An 1 Dollar Trolley That Comes By Evey 30 min. That will Take You Up And Down The Beach. There Is Also A Walmart , Grocery Store and Drug Store 5 Min. Away. I Have Already Recommended This Hotel To My Friends. I Will Come Back Here ..
Stayed here this week. Great hotel with comfortable rooms. The ocean view rooms (on a high floor) are definitely worth the splurge or upgrade. Wifi is not great, but the two level pool and easy access to the beach is fantastic. Pool is well set up with chairs all around. Food at the hotel is lacking, both in terms of casual and fine dining options.
Pretty good steak restaurant.
I've had hit or miss experiences with Westin in the past year. The Diplomat, however, is one of the nicer Westins I've been to. The expansive, 2 level pool area is amazing. The fitness center is big, furnished with new gear, and overlooks the ocean. The downside was the wi-fi. Didn't work at all in my room. Not good for business travel.
Easy in easy out. Valet was excellent. room excellent. Staff very attentive.
we got to enjoy a 4 day stay at the westin. the lobby was under renovation and the images on the orbitz and hotel website made it appear that everything was already done. a little misleading. but overall, only a minor detractor to the stay.a little on the pricey side.pool area a big plus.a solid "4" out of 5.
If you enjoy hanging around a pool this is a place for you. No chlorid in the water, great set-up and access to the beach.I also enjoyed the bed and super confy sheets. The hotel is a little isolated from the action but there's a trolley to the hollywood boardwalk.
hotel staff really cater to all your needs and make stay very enjoyable
The location is great...my only complaints are the construction in the lobby and that the cafe staff had not said the price of the breakfast buffet was $25 per person. I had thought that the hotel would have included breakfast considering the price of the hotel room.
The place is great and right on the beach but they make sure to gouge you for every penny they can. A couple of examples: We had to walk through the pool area to get down to the beach. Every, literally every, employee we would pass on the walk down would ask to make sure we weren't planning on taking our cooler to the pool. That's against the rules because it would eat into the margins they get...
We had a wonderful stay. The bed was super comfortable. The balcony and view of the ocean was breathtaking. We loved the infinity pool. It is a resort, so come prepared to pay resort prices for all your food and drinks. The location is good for them because there is seriously no close alternatives and taxicabs are pricey. The closest restaurants, etc, are about 1.5-2 miles away, which doesn't...
fine room with great view , parking (valet) is absurdly priced ($25) otherwise the service was great
Staff was great. Hotel was very nice. Can be a bit pricey but overall nice.
It was great! The Hotel is beautiful. The staff is very friendly.
This stay was a girlfriends' weekend getaway for pampering and relaxation. The Westin Diplomat is a beautiful hotel with excellent rooms however the staff quality is inconsistent. The cafe baristas were rude and I had to beg for two towels for the beach. I was told there was not enough laundry to provide me with two towels. I don't appreciate having to argue and beg so I can put my head on a...
The hotel lobby is great. The food outlets are also great. The pool area trails behind the overall quality of the hotel. The rooms are not cleaned or dusted well.
very clean and comfortable rooms, and facilities. Beautiful pool.
The room was very nice (Delux king bed room with balcony) We had a partial oven view which was still a nice view even though it was ocean to our side and a building head on. Dinner and drinks were pricey at the hotel restaurants but rivals seemed to be reasonably priced. There is a 7 11 down the street (Aka where to get snacks or wine/beer for your room cheaper. Our advice is rent a car....
We had an ocean view room with a suite. The room was so spacious and well appointed. We had a "BEAUTIFUL" view. We felt very special from every encounter with staff. Our massage was "AWESOME." We felt like butter when the massage was completed. The massage staff gave us chocolate strawberries and champagne at the end to celebrate our delayed honeymoon. Would die to do this again! None of...
The resort was beautiful, clean and the staff was very helpful and freindly
Our first impression upon entering the hotel was overwhelmingly positive, and that impression did not fade over the course of our brief stay. Two smiling young ladies in smart pantsuits are on continuous door duty, and gave our youngest child a high-five upon entry. The lobby entrance is grand, with high ceilings and a virtual forest of palm trees festooned with ambiance lighting. Multiple...
We arrived at the hotel (3555 S. Ocean Drive, Hollywood, FL), but we were sent to another location which is about 2 miles away from the above address. The package was sold as "sun and beach", but we were put in a golf course hotel. Later, we were told that it is a shared Westin property. Very disappointed because we signed up for a sun and beach vacation, not a golfing getaway!
Waiters/bartenders etc have been here for YEARS! They make excellent recommendations by asking the poignant questions. Highest quality food; It's crazy to think that all of the local restaurants have access to potentially the same meat; yet they choose something lesser. Valet parking is validated! <3 <3 <3
Great service - leverage the concierge. The pools are beautiful and beach is right there - great location and hotel with large rooms.
A good but often overlooked steakhouse in the sea of me-too chains that have come to epitomize steakhouse scene. Excellent French onion soup, amazing steaks
The resort was great and highly recommend the ocean view rooms. Everything was great except for a couple items: 1) there isn't much to do outside of the activities in the resort - no place to walk to really (restaurants, etc.), 2) there's literally no shopping - there's a tiny gift shop in the resort, but that's it. No store out near the pool to pick up sunscreen or other pool/beach...
Totally overrated.
Perfect hotel, perfect location, perfect vacation.
Awesome family getaway with young kids. The hotel had it all! Pool, beach, good food, clean rooms, and trolley rides to the boardwalk. There was so much to do that we are going back next year. Looking forward to it!
Excellent meat and seafood. Over priced compared to other options. Good wine list. Would not rate it in t 5 steak house in southern Florida.
Not happy! [...] Booking displayed Westin Diplomat at South Ocean Drive Location and pictured that actual hotel but instead we had to stay at Westin Diplomat Golf Resort 1.5 miles away. The intent of our trip was to be at the beach not a golf resort!!
An excellent Steakhouse
Great food - especially the thanksgiving turkey dinner. Already planning next thanksgiving there next year!
Consistently excellent steaks and all around great food. I have now eaten here several times and it's always good. Except for once when a server dropped hot creamed spinach on me. Fortunately, they had him taken out to be flogged. Just kidding, but the manager was SO obsequious afterwards I guessed they might have. Actually I love this place. And the server wasn't decapitated after all.
We had a wonderful time at the Westin Diplomat. We were there to celebrate our 24th anniversary and loved the hotel. The room was lovely; the view was great; the hotel staff pleasant and accommodating; the food in the restaurants delicious. My husband really liked the golf course. We would happily return and would highly recommend to friends and family.
I just returned from a 4 night, 3 day stay at the Westin Diplomat. I went on vacation with my girlfriend and I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. Everything was perfect. It's a classy resort, with an ideal setting right on the beach. The weather was 85-88 and sunny each day. The ocean was amazing, extremely clean, clear water. The staff is very accomodating at the Westin. The...
The hotel is connected to a convention center and was at 100% occupancy while we were there although there was never a problem getting an elevator or finding a pool chair. Great facility on the beach. Friendly service other than the poolside servers. Geared to the business traveler (probably why the pool chairs were available - most guests were at conventions). Pool deck very small and...
The Hotel was lovely in every way. I wish the staff was more friendly.
I wanted to have a romantic day with a date for valentines and chose this place, it was a huge mistake. The overpricing on this place is too much, the rooms are not 4 star or four and half star which many sites claim. The rooms are small and most of the view is blocked by nearby hotel. The pool's sun is blocked by the building for most of the time as well. They nickel and dime you for all types of charges, parking, water, internet, and the customer service is slow and rude. No apologies on their end. Overpriced by a long shot, save your money and stay somewhere else
It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
Excellent service, provided by several members of the wait staff covering for each other. The restaurant was quiet, good for holding a conversation. As for the food: the foie gras appetizer was excellent, and the shrimps in the cocktail were huge and well cooked. The prime strip was very good, but I wouldn’t say it was much better than steaks I’ve had in less pricey establishments. My prime rib...
Good food, decor an excellent service, try the Foie Gras, the Rack of lamb, good wine list.
This place was almost great, just a little bit too pricey. I had the filet and I was disappointed to see that it was not dry aged since the price was so high. I decided against ordering wine since the alcohol was just outrageously priced. I would avoid this place and look elsewhere for fine dining.
Despite repeated notice at reservation, reception and sit down, the waiters and the chef served my first three items with forbidden (allergic) ingredients. It made me so sick I had to leave dinner before it was over, ruining my anniversary celebration. Way overpriced for the quality and presentation of the food.
This hotel was truly amazing. It is so nice. I went there on business and got a normal king bed room. When I got to the room, I thought there was a mistake and they gave me a suite. It had flat screen TVs, a pull out couch, a desk, huge bathroom, and an amazing view of the ocean from the balcony. I went down to the pool and got a cabana. It had a TV, table, and bed/couch. It also came with...
We ate at the bar as we usually do. Bar is very small. Brought a nice bottle of wine in Lancaster Estate Cab, I told the bartender I would gladly pay the corkage charge. I'm sorry we don't do that here. I asked the MOD and he told me it was a liability issue. Bone in Ribeye was good but tasted more like a pork chop. It was moist but lacked that marbled flavor that I enjoy. Cocktails are pricey....
Service was superb, nice looking place but the food left a lot to desire. I am a restaurant owner myself so im much more forgiving than most people. Prices were way to high for the quality. My wife and I had the surf and turf, a mini filet (not dry aged at all just out of the plastic bag) the lobster tail was large and tender but just about to turn bad and had "that taste" so not so great. The...
Very good fish and steaks
My favorite steak house in south Florida.
The hotel was wonderful. They had fantastic restaurants. The steak house was pricey but worth every penny. The hotel had a great pool with cabana's for rent.
I live in the Western Broward County area and my family was looking to get away for the weekend without driving too far so we decided to check in at the Westin Diplomat. It is one of the newest hotels in the Hollywood/Hallandale area. And it is a top class resort! It is visited by many celebrities by all the newscasts I've seen but unfortunately I didnt see any on my visit. The beds were very...
The Westin-Diplomat is a fantastic place. It is located right on the beach, with access to the Intercoastal Waterway. The outside pool is spectacular, with private cabanas if your interested. They offer golf, a spa, fitness club. It's a…
The room was leaking and dripped on my daughters head all night. There were plugs that did not work. The housekeeping is the worse I have seen in a very long time, especially since they are out of season. The room service quality was poor. The valet left our car unlocked for 5 hours, while it sat out front. The sushi bar food was below avaerage at best and the service there was horrible. I...
I watched that hotel being built when I used to live there and was excited to go experience it for myself. The hotel is lovely and big and the rooms are nice. Upon check in I asked the front desk for an ocean view which isn't the room I reserved (apparently). They accomodated sans extra charge which was a great beginning and they also gave my daughter a backpack from the kids club. I was...
The location is slightly isolated, but has been created into such an oasis of luxury that you don't need to leave the resort. An extremely modern multi story infinity pool overlooking the ocean complete with pay as you go spray tanning, a vast array of dining options, golf, tennis, spa, kid's activities and play areas, and much more.
The resort was beautiful, but my room was below par...there were stains on the floor and found trash on floor behind toilet. I did have an amazing view of the ocean and for the most part the food was very good. it is an odd location not too convenient to anything but if you are just hanging out there it is fine.
Extremely busy hotel for business events and weddings etc. but tourists might find this a problem. No reasonable priced cafes or restaurants.
Guest did not leave a comment.
Restaurant choices are not very good.
The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa on Hollywood Beach is THE perfect hotel to stay at for the ultimate in comfort and ambiance. The "heavenly bed" is unparalleled and the on the ocean view rooms are spectacular and breathtaking. We never wanted to leave!
This is my favorite hotel in the entire world. However, the service was not what it used to be. Front desk was difficult to deal with, made the simplest of things a long drawn out process. Had to call to get room cleaned. Was noisy due to construction. I stayed at the Hilton in Fort Lauderdale beforehand and would recommend it over the Westin Diplomat. Way better value.
Yes, I have stayed here before and like it very much.
Some people have started staying at the Hard Rock, but this hotel, with its sweeping architecture, great rooms and proximity to the ocean is a much better choice. I would definitely recommend it.
My husband and I had our wedding at the Diplomat, and though we loved the decor and the location, as well as the luxury, we had several expensive wedding gifts and envelopes with money in them turn up ""missing"" at the end of the night. When we contacted hotel management about the problem they told us that they were sure no one on their staff had taken anything - and then suggested that our friends or family may have stolen the items! We were very insulted, to say the least. They refused to let us see surveillance video of the hallways and ballroom, and did not compensate us at all. We...
If you like paying through the nose for glitz and rude staff, this is the place for you! Aside from the painfully tacky facade, the hotel itself isn't bad. Rooms are nice enough, well worth a couple of hundred a night--too bad they cost 3 or 4 times that. The lobby was pleasant, pool & beach passable (though there's not much beach left). But the prices! $7 bottles of water, $13 for SLOW internet service (it's another $5 for LAN-quality speed, and it's til next noon, not 24 hours worth), $85 steaks, $2.50 a pop for toll-free calls. The food wasn't bad; it just cost twice as much as it...
Had a great dinning experience with a group of clients. The best steakhouse in Broward County. Definitely on pricey side though.
I had a conference at the adjoining Westin Conference Center and I brought the whole family. We had visited several years ago, before the hotel was hit by a hurricane and it has been restored to the exact same condition. - Rooms are great! Last time we had an ocean view, but this time the kids were bummed to see we were on the city side. However, when we walked in at 9pm and saw the lights of...
My husband and I and another couple stayed last month for our anniversary. The customer service was awful. The rooms were EXTREMELY tiny for the price. The bars and restaurants inside the hotel were closed by 11:30. Nikki's marina was closed for repairs and THERE IS NOTHING TO DO within walking distance. We thought we would cram into our $570/night room and play cards or something. We then realized that there was not even a radio in the room. We asked if they had one they could bring up and was then told we couldnt have one because we might make too much noise.
Fantastic restaurant! Walked in one night and even though HP was crowded we were accommodated right away. From the amuse bouche to the last morsel of food, everything was perfection!
This was the worst 4 star resort or hotel I have ever stayed at. The entire experience made me feel ripped off. I have stayed at many other hotels of the 4 star caliber and this one doesn't fit the bill. Price, service and environment were all factors.
Pros
+ the pool
Cons
- maid service, prices, management
From Kahlil : I really enjoyed myself, the people inside the hotel were very friendly, and the concierge was very friendly. Next time I will make sure I rent a car though.
This is a fantastic hotel. Its architecture is lovely. The play of water in inside fountains and the two great pools are beautiful. We loved our trip and will come back again and again.
The most incredible hotel I've been to in any city. Over a quarter billion to build with 2 level pools with a see through floor. Incredible decor matched only by the views from the rooms. The beach was all of 4 feet wide at high tide - not impressive but no one went there. The only trouble is that it's built in a dumpy neighborhood. A shuttle will take you to a terrific golf course and relaxing spa.
Pros
+ Decor, Room size, Amenities
Cons
- , Neighborhood
I have eaten at almost every top steak house and would say this is the best Rib Eye available. The Mushroom side is also the best I've ever had. Wine has been marked up too much but that is not unusual at your high end restaurants. The wine list offers a great range of wines in price, quality, etc.
this is a very nice hotel, i would really commend this hotel to anybody, room service was perfect had no complaints people in room service was very nice.
The old one was bulldozed and a totally new, modern facility built. Great accomodations, excellently appointed rooms. Excellent restaurants ( although the prime steakhouse is somewhat pricy), but a choice of others on premice. Good club floor with full breakfast, cocktail hour, later petite fours etc. New pool and outdoor facilities. On the beach. Well trained accomodating staff. A pleasure
Pros
+ new rooms, convention facilities, self contained
Cons
- pay parking daily, expense, daily fee children
