My husband and I stayed at the Hermitage for the first night of our honeymoon. It exceeded our expectations! It was a luxurious and relaxing stay. The staff at the hotel is extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We had breakfast in the Capitol Grille, and that was delicious. The Hermitage is an outstanding hotel! The minute you are greeted at the door by friendly, helpful, smiling bellmen and then walk into the magnificient lobby you will know you are in for something very special. The lobby is just gorgeous and makes you feel you have entered a palace. All the staff are friendly, helpful, and eager to please.... more

This hotel is the only choice in Nashville. The service is fabulous and the food in the Captial Grille is wonderful. But watch out for king bedded rooms. Two different king bedded rooms I stayed in were connecting. This means that one of the "walls" is actually a door that goes into the room next door. Doors do not muffle... more

We stayed at the Hermitage for two nights over July 4th weekend, and while we found the hotel clean and comfortable, I would not give it a five star rating. I've only had the burger plate for lunch. The burger was dry, hard, and partly burned around the edges. Not even like a juicy burger from McDonalds or Hardees! The fries were limp and cold, though the iced tea was good. Too expensive for a bad lunch! I've given them the benefit of the doubt on several occasions, and, alas, there was no improvement whatsoever. Will not try lunch there again.

Great old historic hotel. Ask for a renovated room as those are nicer than those that are not renovated. A great view is the view that looks out at the capital. Also, the Capital Grill in the lobby is terrific. If all the restaurants on the dining list are better than it, Nashville must have great food.
