Good Place to Get Dinner Before a Movie

Review Rating
The Farm has a good selection of healthy food. Although sometimes crowded, the Farm is generally a good choice if you are either shopping in the Grove or want to see a movie at the theater. (The Farm is next door to the theater, so you just walk through a wall to the ticket booth.) The Farm's cuisine is generally American with salads, burgers, wraps, seafood, etc. but they also have some Pacific flourishes on the menu. Definitely get one of their chocolate brownies a la mode for dessert!

In Short The Farm's two locations share the breezy charm and airy appeal of a Hamptons farmhouse. While the Beverly Hills location is a tad more spacious, the Grove opens into the art deco-inspired lobby of the mall's elegant cineplex. Comfort food gets saucy on this California-influenced menu. Ahi is served three ways, like with tomatoes and scallions dressed in a soy vinaigrette, and ... more

Good eats, in a cozy corner

The Farm at the Grove in Beverly Hills is cozily nestled next to the movie theaters in eye-shot of the fountain. The food is good, and the staff friendly, with regular check-ins. Every time I've gone, the food tastes very fresh.

Terrible service! This means Staff and Management.

In short six of us went here to celebrate our friend's birthday. We didn't mind waiting 70 minutes for a table. We were excited to get drinks and check out the menu. We were greeted 10 minutes after we sat. We ordered drinks and after waiting 15 mins started getting a little angry. We grabbed the Manager and explained. Not only did he not believe us, but he kept waiting even longer. The Waiter had ... more

Great breakfast and lunch items

The Farm has a great location, central in the Grove and right next to the movie theater. You can choose indoor or outside seating, where you can watch the water fountain. The menu takes classic breakfast and lunch dishes and usually puts a creative ingredient or twist in.

Great food but hostess is always a b!!!!!!!

Great food. I will give them that, but on every occasion (3 times) the hostess has been a raving b!!! She seemed irritated that she had to seat us. When we arrived at the table she threw the menus down and walked away!!!!

Pretty Good Food, slow service and boring atmosphere

I went here for brunch on a saturday and it wasn't too crowded but the service seemed kind of slow. The brunch menu was large and featured a nice array of exciting looking dishes. The food was creative and tasty, however it was not the best I've ever had. Everything on the menu was also pretty expensive. The atmosphere is nothing special or wonderful and it was pretty noisy.

Outstanding Hamburger

Unlike some of the other reviewers, my experience at The Farm in The Grove has been great each time I've been. Their hamburger is phenomenal! I had my last one with gruyere cheese (you can choose from a number of cheeses), and I thought it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Their Ahi-Three-Ways Salad was pretty great as well. Yeah, the ambiance is kitschy in a way...but hey, it's called The ... more

We came to the Grove location after hearing some people rave about the food. In reality, we were greeted by the reception lady who appeared like we were disturbing her busy day of standing around. After we were seated in the patio area, we waited about 15 minutes before anyone came out to ask for our drink order. Then the waiter disappeared for another 20 minutes after we ordered. Mind you, the ... more

Not worth the money

The Grove Location is overrated, overpriced, and just not worth it. It took our waitress forever to greet us and bring us drinks on a non busy Saturday afternoon, and basically disappeared for our entire meal, only showing up to drop the check. The food was only ok, and just not worth paying $40 for brunch for two.

Pros

+ parking

Cons

- , poor service, bland food

This place is great! We walk over there for lunch frequently and they have, by far, the best hamburger I've ever eaten. The attention to detail with the food is excellent. Service has always been good. It is a bit pricy for comfort food, but I've never been disappointed.

Pros

+ Food, Ambience

Cons

I was recently at The Grove and on my way to the movies, we had 30 minutes to kill, so I wondered over to The Farm. I had heard about it on several occasions. It really is cute inside, looks like a barn. The girl behind the to-go counter told me we could bring food from The Farm into the theater. I decided to just get one of their huge brownies and a blended coffee drink. We returned after the ... more

Overrated - Overpriced

Eating at The Farm at the Grove was decidely like eating at a Ponderosa in a mall in Des Moines for 4 times the price. It's was badly overlit, and the "farm" chatchki seemed more appropriate to a Honey Baked Ham than an upscale eatery. My burger was overdone, and the meat was fairly tasteless anyway. Despite the paucity of patrons our waitress seemed far more intent on chatting up the bus boys ... more
