I stayed at the capital for my first honeymoon night before flying out to Jamaica and had a great experience. Hotels in the same class, but newer just can't compete with the high ceilings, king bed sized elevator, marble floors, etc. because they are built to modern efficiency of space standards

This beautiful, historic building is deifinitely not the modern, amenity-filled hotel many travelers have come to expect. But that's not the point here. Some rooms are slightly small, all are tastefully decorated, comfortable, clean and the service is excellent

My husband and I booked one of the suites at the Capital Hotel for our honeymoon night. The suites are all located over the Hotel's reception/ball room area. It was not very pleasant or romantic to hear the Rock and Roll band underneath us playing during another couple's wedding reception.
