On March 21, 2012 I went to South Chicago Harvey Auto Aution Sign in and was given a bidders paddle and a booklet with the rules and regulation. During the Auction I was reading the papers I was given and did not uderstand on of the Fees Tax and Documentary Fee So Question A couple of the workers many knew nothing. But one told me it was referring to Sales tax which was base on where I lived I...
I can't believe you went to an auction:You didn't understand the fees and costsYou Didn't understand that auction cars are dumped at auction for needing repairs beyond that are economically reasonable to fix. Those who buy inexpensive cars at auction are usually recyclers after parts. You didn't go once and not buy to understand the process and costsAuction cars are "as is" unless stated, and...
The people there do not have dealers in this auction with the public, therefore, there is no need for high bidding. The bidding starts fairly high and goes down. I'm sure the woman did not "mistake" her bid. I was ripped off by these people too. I do not think it is fair for you to blame the woman for this at all. Read my review posted the other day! It was 4 typed pages almost and it is going...
The company does not have all the hidden fees on the "paddle". Every person who goes to this auction gets skrewed. I am not disabled. I did ask questions...no one answers. There are a few fees included in the small print...nothing near what they actually charge you.
They are actually in Harvey, next to Dolton. What does your paper work on the sale say? My guess is you bid more than you thought, $3200 would make your math correct.
You are lucky they gave you back $100. Normally all sales are final and deposits are non refundable. They let you out of the deal for $500.
That paper is called a paddle, you raise it when you want to bid. Are you sure you...
I won a bid on a car for $2,100.00. Very shortly after I had won my bid, I was told by one of their agent that I must give him $600.00 deposit, and to come back later that day at 3:00pm to pay my bal. and get my car. Please understand that I disable and has some slight mental problem. also I am not a good reader. Before the Auction, they gave me this pice of paper and I thought it was a pass to...
I don't think there is anything that anyone can help you with. If you are disabled you should have asked for assistance before entering into a transaction that you did not understand. Sorry to say, but you are most likely out of luck. Consider this a lesson learned. Don't enter into any transactions before you (or your representative) reads all the terms and conditions.
