not a place for a romantic dinner

When you first walk in it has a night club feel, the tables are to close together for any romance and the music is too loud. The food was just ok the service was the best part.
I would try someplace else for a romantic dinner.

I went to Solefood the other day with a few co-workers to check out their lunch. WOW, I was blown away. For starters we walked in with no reservation and were sat right away, even with a very busy diing room. Our server, don't remember her name, but she was GREAT! Lots of great specials and a wide variety of sandwiches & salads. She recommended the "lunch box" which is like a sampling of 4 items ... more

Solefood is the spot

I went to Solefood for happy hour with my friends from work. Their drinks, 3$ appetizers, and bar staff was wonderful. When the bartender spilled my drink on the Bar, I think his name was Billy, he gave me a replacement, now THATS service. There seems to be lots of energy in the lounge, with the music complimenting the atmosphere. It seems like this is the place to see and be seen by local Philadelphians ... more

Great Happy Hour and Terrific Food

I went to Sole Food in the Loews Hotel the other night with some co-workers at around 6:00. I arrived to find out that they were having happy hour. All of the martinis were under $6.00, as well as there complete list of specialty cocktails. They also had $3.00 appetizers. I had the Tuna Tartar, which was amazing, the same as there dinner menu which costs $14.00 in the dining room. There were ... more

My boss wanted to take me out to breakfast for Christmas and suggested Solefood, I didnt know what to think because it's a seafood restaurant, however I was really surprised. They have a STARBUCKS bar in the restaurant this made my morning even better, which was a plus! For an appetizer I had a very large portion of fresh sliced mixed fruit, and immediately after we were finished our waiter brought ... more

I am amazed that this restraunt is even open. I have never had such aweful food in my life, literally. I ordered a dish that should have been asian pan fried noodle and lobster with tempura asparagus, but instead got an entire meal that was battered like fried chicken and deep fried. EVERYTHING (even my sweet potatoes and the lobster, shell and all). The badness was not with my meal alone, all four ... more

Terrific Food during Restaurant Week

For Restaurant Week there were a decent amount of choices. Out two appetizers were good: a very large bowl of good, if not great mussels, and a sizable caesar salad with very good calamari croutons (if you like calamari, that is). Our 3 entrees got uniformly terrific reviews: scallops & shrimp; halibut with turnips; and the filet of beef. Desserts were loved as well: chocolate grain, peach tart and ... more

Live entertainment?

This place shut down as Tellers and reopened as Sole food. They sporadically have live entertainment, and the one entertainer they used to have, Steve the pianist, never seems to play there anymore. When I call and ask about when he is scheduled to play, they are clueless and have no idea. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.
