They have such good bar food, I've gone there even without drinking a drink (I know, right?). But first and foremost, the Slow Bar is a hip bar, with giant booths, brick walls and frosted glass windows. It can get crazy some nights, and packed in beyond the seating, but damn good cocktails and one of the best burgers in town keeps people coming back.

I've been to Slow Bar about twenty times and have only had one off experience. The service is always good, even when the bar is packed. Fridays and Saturdays it takes longer, but just order a bucket of Sessions and take it easy. The food is incredible (especially the burgers [they use Strawberry Mountain Organic Beef]). Great place to go. Not your average bar food. The foods great. How many bars can you actually go to and get a great meal. The hamburgers there are the best I've ever had. Very trendy, I love the juke box and the people there are very friendly.

The drinks are strong, happy hours is great, nice feel, music is perfect. All the hype, well it's just got all the right things in porportion. Other than that not unusual or very intresting really. Great for after work though. Oh but next time please don't leave me dry for so long.

unless you know someone. i was at slow bar with a friend and we were ignored and then curtly dealt with by the waitress....until the owner came to talk with us because he is friends with my friend. then she treated us like gold. it was unbelievable. since then, the service is always horrible. i guess i should only go there with my cool friend...but they have an amazing burger, so it is worth the needlessly ... more

Slow bar is the s@!t, it's got great staff and a more portland feel to it, it doesn't feel like im walking into a singles bar or a northwest fag bar, the sort of place that makes you wanna drink and call all your friends out to have a round even on monday or tuesday.

The service is most always great, but it's too smoky to stay for long if you don't participate. The place looks pretty cool (dark and lots of exposed brick) and the food is always excellent. One of the 3 best burgers in town. The juke box is a little bit Motorhead for my tastes, but if that your style it's fully loaded.

I love the slow bar, it's intimate enough for a date, lively enough for a group of friends to have fun, excellent music choices in jukebox. It's decorated like it should be a pretentious, scenester bar but it is not. Owner and staff are friendly, attentive and I feel welcome and comfortable every single time.

Slow Bar is generally great...depending on your bartender. If your there when the 'good' bartenders are working, the service, drinks and food are all stellar. But there are several bartenders I won't even go in if they're working, because I'll never get service (regardless of how busy it is).

This place has the best happy hour menu! You must have the salad. It is incredibly good. The pizza makes my mouth water. The staff, totally awesome. Atmosphere is terrific. Love the Slow Bar!

I was surprised to find this small bar with some of the best pub grub I've ever had. There also were these giant booths that made for great privacy. This is a very urban bar with a mostly dowtown crowd. The music came from a jukebox with a great mix of 80's Pop and punk. This is deffinetly my new favorite bar. See ya there!!!

We went in to scout out a good place to have a large group, and were severly disapointed. It took 10 minutes just to place an order, sitting at the bar, amongst maybe 8 people in the entire place. The bartender seemed more interested in talking with the cook, than pouring me a beer. I don't recommend the slowest bar ever.

This was our first time trying this place and were pleasantly surprised. Good drinks and a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the music selection tended to dip and we were also turned off with the loud "bouncer" who seemed to like drawing attention to himself. Otherwise the food was fine and the waitress was very good also.

You have to be an insider to get any service here.
The bartender made two horrible drinks, both went untouched, when I mentioned this he said "sorry it's what you ordered", which was a martini, and what I was served was a cup of cough syrup. We were charged full price had a below average cold fondue, very bad drinks, and non existent service. Save yourself $$$ and time, pass this place up.

Went to Slow Bar last night with some friends around 6:30 last night, and really liked the place. The burger I got was hands down the best burger I've ever had in PDX. This is my new favorite bar. It is a great place where class meets punk.

I like that I can order a cosmopolitan in a nice, clean, not smokey (really good ventillation) bar and yet I can play SLAYER on the jukebox. The best part is that despite its vicinity to downtown, they are still charging SE prices!

The SLOW BAR is the love child of a martini and a sailor jerry tattoo.
