Smoking Room with a Queen Size Bed Microwave-Refrigerator-Freezer-Voicemail Signature room with 1 queen bed, smoking, microwave, refrigerator-freezer, 12 foot work center, two phones with dataports, voicemail, iron/ironing board, coffee maker, alarm clock
Absolutely dreadful was booked in for two weeks arrived to find it was closing in two day without letting us know .totally disgusted
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating,& definitely turned a potentially horrible experience into a more bearable one. Considering the price charged and the overall rating of the hotel on this website, I was expecting much better. Location is convenient. The rooms smelled musty, the carpets (both in the hallways and in the rooms) definitely needed changing. Some of the...
i stayed here for two night for a business trip. All other hotels were sold out. Defnitely not a great hotel and is very outdated but it was relatively clean for the most part (a couple of small hairs on the sink). It is just adequate if you need a place to crash and won't be staying too long. On...
The lady at front desk was very nice. Carpet was in bad shape walking to mg room, once inside carpet was worse. Many stains. Just felt yukky. I kept my shoes on while walking around. Wallpaper was peeling in a couple of places. Room lighting was extremely dim. Bathroom was old and furniture was very out dated. Felt like the 1980's. I won't stay there again unless Bloomington/ Normal is booked...
Can't belv. this is a Wyndham property! Based on this, I would be wary of staying at any Wyndham hotel! The entire hotel, including the rooms, smelled old and musty, the carpets were dirty, the bathrooms looked old. I even had to change multiple rooms - the first one had a leaky ceiling in the bathroom!
The only saving grace...
Our stay was good enough for what we needed. My family was passing through on our way to Springfield, and we needed to break up the drive. We just needed to crash when we got in at about 11:30pm, and were heading out right away the next morning. The room was ready, and the beds seemed clean. The carpets left...
Not a bad Hotel, staff was very friendly. I wasn't overly satisfied with the clean part, but I guess it happens from time to time.
Musty room, ice machine broken, almost no selection for breakfast, watered down coffee and orange juice. I could go on but this should say enough. I do not like to write negative reviews but this time I couldn't help it.
Reserved 4 Rooms
1 Room = Not cleaned by 9pm check in, received new room
Spider and bugs crawling on the walls
Smelled musty and like some one had been smoking in the rooms
Very nice accommodations. Good service.
Location\n\nSmoking room and odor smelled very strong\n\nrestaurants and shopping in the area so that was convenient. But smoking rooms were overwhelming with the smell of smoke. Pleasant surprise was jacuzzi tub
Comcast TV stations came in very clear. HBO. Most other hotels in the area have Direct or Dish with a lot of snow.\n\nI stayed 5 nights. On the 4th night someone pulled the fire alarm twice and it took a long time before they got the alarm shut off the 2nd time. Then there was a lot of noise in the hallways and people banging on the walls.\n\nContinental breakfast. Great TV. Nice 4 out of 5...
The hotel staff, eapecially Jasmine were very welcoming and helpful\n\nVery good value, excellent location, friendly staff
Our stay was not very positive. The hotel was completely booked up. I had booked my room about a week and a half in advance so it was nice to have a definite room. What was unfortunate is that the desk clerk gave us a room that some one else was staying in. When we entered the room the other guests things were scattered all over the floor. When finding this we went to the front desk again and...
The room's air-conditioning worked well and we had extra pillows but that's where the comfort level ended. When we walked in, the room literally stank, the best way I can describe it is like that of soiled laundry of a nursing home and the room itself was dirty. There was still a used washcloth in the middle of the floor...
I had a really nice time at this Howard Johnson. The room itself was very nice. It was large, comfortable, clean, and well-lit. The surrounding area wasn't so much a "neighborhood," but there were several businesses nearby. I visited a brewpub right around the block called Destihl, which had good food and great beer. There's also a nice little grocery store on the same block, along with many...
I enjoyed my stay. I had a problem with my room up checking in, but staff handled it very quickly. However, the breakfast options need some attention. My husband and I left without any consideration of eating the breakfast.
The majority of the reviews for this hotel were created BEFORE it was made into a Howard Johnson hotel. It was formerly Signature Inn, and all the reviews are pretty much identical.
Well, I'm here to tell you that things have changed!!! In the last four weeks, I have stayed at a Ramada Limited, a Baymont Inn (both of which...
Room had a hole punched in the wall. Light fixture was broken & hanging (my husband fixed that problem.) We asked at the desk for some extra pillows, we were told they didn't even have enough for all of the rooms. What? There is a Target in the same parking lot, we went over & bought ourselves some pillows. (Maybe...
The location was great. Near everything. The staff was very helpful.\n\nBreakfast was disappointing. Limited selection even for a continental breakfast.
Location\n\nThe cleanliness, age of rooms, smell of rooms.
The HVAC system in the room was not functioning properly. If it had been a warmer night, it would have been very uncomfortable.
The continental breakfast was aimed more at children and people who like sweets.
The air conditioning unit ran on/off all night and you could hear trickling water. It kept me up all night. The breakfast selection was limited.
This showed way better than the reviews indicated: very clean, large room with great desk/counter. Had a microwave and refrigerator and a nice continental breakfast. Very nice staff: completely full when we were there. Could walk to resturants.
Location\n\nNo hot water for 3 days. No manager was on duty. Staff was inept. They made no attempt to offer any compensation, even though they had said there would be.\n\nHas changed to a Howard Johnson recently and quality at all levels has gone down. Should be a one star. Can you get us some compensation for our having to put up with this?
Low price.\n\nA/C not working.\n\nCheap place to stay the night. A/C not working.
Hotel was as I expected but management can provide some edible breakfast, specially orange. It was neither juice or water.
My room was very big and the bathroom was greatly improved upon my last stay a couple years ago
The front desk staff was very nice and very professional\n\nThe room was old and not as clean as I would like.\n\nThe Hotel could use some updating and newer carpet, newer toilet etc...
Nice hotel over all, quiet hallways, clean room, average breakfast, and helpful staff. We were very pleased until we tried to adjust the air in the room. It remained stuffy all night, couldn't get it adjusted right. Although it's a good deal over all, we won't stay there during the months we need a bit of air conditioning.
location\n\nair conditioning didn't work and maintance man came up and said the fan would keep the room cool but it didn't and I said something when checked out and the person at the desk said ok thanks for stayin
NOT a thing\n\nThe hotel was supposed to have a pool, which was my complaint on the first hotel we purchased, it did not have water in, then we are supposed to get refund for that one and re booked and got this one, this one was the same. and stinky , old smokey\n\nThis moterl is very old , bad beds and stinky not a good place to stay, and the staff member was vaccumming one day and they...
location\n\nI had been there two weeks, and the same pieces of garbage were in the stairways ... (well travelled) and obviously never cleaned! \n\nThe location is good, the room is old and worn, but clean 'enough', just modify your expectations.... this is an adequate stay.
Location\n\nWallpaper was peeling down about a foot from the ceiling, halls smelled musty, carpets looked horrible\n\nLocation was perfect! My daughter and I went to a concert at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum and it was less then 10 minutes. We were also about a mile from the mall. Tons of restaurants within walking distance too! The hotel room itself, was musty and wall paper was peeling down in...
The location is great, it has a lot of stores and resturants close. The staff was very helpful and they were knowledgeable about the area.
Comfortable bed, good pillows, good room layout, friendly staff\n\nMy non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke.\n\nVery nice hotel -- albeit with 30 years of wear. Would definitely stay there again EXCEPT that my non-smoking room's wallpaper, ventilation system, linens, and wood surfaces were permeated with the odor of cigarette smoke. When I unpacked after my visit, I noticed the smell...
Front desk staff (Jasmine) was wonderful. She had my reservation all ready when I arrived. Easy check in.\n\nMy two requirements for a short stay are clean and no bugs. lol.. This hotel was perfect. It's located near Hwy 55 and near lots of dining and shopping. There were a few cosmetic flaws with the room but everything functioned as it should. Very clean and the bed was comfortable.
got a great bargain thru priceline\n\nif you book thru priceline, usually you get sent to the farthest rooms...so true here. The hotel clerk had no idea how to direct from my overshoot back to the hotel (went 2 miles north. He should be educated as to how to give a customer directions.\n\nWe got a very nice room for the bargain prices thru priceline.Lots of restaurants close to the site. Did...
The location\n\nThe hotel is pretty run down and needs major re-vamping\n\nThe hotel has been around for some time. The rooms are clean but very dated. For the price, it was alright.
Location is good.\n\nAlthough the hotel is a non-smoking building, for some reason I still smell smoke in my room an other public spaces.
The location was perfect. The staff was very helpful.\n\nIt is a good place to stay there is alot within walking distance and more if you drive. The rooms were clean and did not smell. The staff was very helpful was the request I had.
The rooms were a little better than what we expected. The staff was grumpy but were willing to help.\n\nThe Staff could have been nicer.\n\nOverall exactly what we needed and what we expected. We would stay here again.
Convenient location within the city I was visiting.\n\nRoom was old, outdated, and very far from the entrance/exit doors.\n\nDo not expect much from this hotel and staff.
It provided exactly what I needed for a good price.\n\nI'd like to see some options for an occasional meal.\n\nThis place was a low cost alternative for for an extended stay. I only needed a place to sleep, and this provided it.
Price was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. Clean, comfortable.\n\nExcellent price and location.
I must say I'm surprised it only had two stars. The staff was welcoming. It's obviously a family-friendly place, but my room was wonderfully quiet.\n\nNo.\n\nThis hotel is in a terrifically convenient area, and there is shopping and a variety of restaurants nearby. I wish I had had time to shop!
The quietness.\n\nthere was old food left in our refrigerator fromt the previous guests.\n\nNice hotel. Would definetly stay here again. Great price.
good place to stay, clean, quiet, and nice people. but... def could use some glasses instead of foam cups. can't booze properly w/ foam...
The overall stay was nice. However the room had an odd smell of urine. They eithther had an animal in the room at some point or something i would rather not think about.
Clean, quiet rooms. Lots of space to work.\n\nBreakfast was brutal-looking.
location\n\ndirty carpet, the room didnt smell fresh\n\nThis hotel is definetly not a 2 star hotel!!! This hotel needs upgrading BAD!!
I loved the location. It was also much fancier than what I expected it to be at th price. Greatest value.
I was pleased with the hotel staff and the overall condition of the hotel, but the rooms need some major attention. We had problems with the heat in our first room and the staff was really good about getting us changed to another room. But the overall condition of the room needs a major makeover. It was not bad enough for me to leave but I will say they need to redo the rooms.
The room was a good size, but the shower was really tiny.\n\nThe free continental breakfast was a joke. They ran out of bagels an almost out of cereal in less than an hour, and there was no place to sit.\n\nDon't count on eating breakfast.
It was nice.. They were filling up fast due to the snow storm. Check-in was pretty efficient. My room was clean and comfortable.
Value. Was quite surprised.\n\nNO\n\nWonderful Value. All very clean. Morning food was nice and abundant.
The fitness center could have more equipment. I at least expected one treadmill or elliptical. Only one person can work out at a time.
The Kiwanis Club of Normal meets here each Thursday morning,:45 am. Stop by for free coffee and donuts and learn how you can help change the world!
Wonderful Staff, nice warm room, decent breakfast, good firm beds.\n\nnothing.\n\n10 out of ten!! Excellent location with many stores within walking distance. Would definitely recommend.
The hotel was fine for what we paid. We were expecting it to have a pool...it did but it was outdoors! This was the main reason we stayed at a hotel at all this night instead of driving 50miles home...was so we could swim. I am a little ticked off.\n\nWhile we were eating breakfast, the manager and his front staff were arguing about why the trash can was not emptied. I just wanted peace...
Nice rooms. Helpful staff.\n\nContinental breakfast had great fruit (Granny Smith apples and Clementines) and good bagels, but would have appreciated fresh donuts rather than packaged pastries.\n\nGood location. Great value. Comfortable, clean rooms. Nice, firm pillows. In-room refrigerator, microwave, full-size iron and full-size ironing board.
I read the reviews.
Problem was, I had already booked the hotel.
I thought: "Am I going to get the big bug room?" or "Am I going to sleeping on a ice block?" or "Maybe Dolly Parton will be singing in the lobby--It's an 80's hotel ya know".
The theater of the mind had kicked into overdrive. Thankfully, upon arrival,...
We booked here for the fact that they had breakfast. First morning, we wake up and they have NO food. so of course now have to go pay for breakfast elsewhere.. 2nd morning was even worse.. had a sick daughter and they called my room WAY before check out time and said "Oh we were checking to see if you were still there as your sign on your door said do not disturb". And that someone had "already...
Awful! There were bugs in the bed, heat didn't work, no running water. When asked to be moved to another room they sent my guests to a room/storage room! There were stains all over the furniture and bedding. Checking in was a disaster as they couldn't find all of my guests names. I had to look through the computer screen...
Location was good, covenient,\n\noverall it was below standard, the bathroom was not clean(hairs in bathtub, water coming out of the tub was dirty and there was dirt or rust or something falling out with the water, carpet was dirty and I did not feel comfortable in this environment.\n\nGreat location,
reservec queen size bed got a double bed instead, room was extremely warm and would not cool down, bathroom sink faucet was not working properly, should have been noticed and taken care of if it was cleaned on a daily basis, ok but DEFINITELY not worth the price!! bathroom door was also beat up on bottom, and bathtub scratched and worn!!!
Clean and comfortable and i got a great price\n\nno\n\nclose to the airport, clean rooms, nice atmosphere
Our hotel room's shower did not work properly. You had to hold the lever for a while in order for the shower to turn on. Then you either had to leave the water on all of the way towards hot or all the way towards cold otherwise the shower turned off.\n\nThe hotel was in a nice central location but I do not recommend staying there. It is older and the room was not up to cleaniliness or even...
Says it has a pool. So I book it. Negative 10 degrees, and they have an outdoor pool!
Location and staff.\n\nThe hotel was too old and not been taken care of. It made look like a very cheap hotel. The rooms were not cleaned. I saw dust piled up on a long brass lamp covers. The room also looked very old and the furniture and deco were out dated.\n\nIt shouldn't be rated as a two star hotel. It's not meeting the standards comparing other two star hotels.
clean and quiet, room had microwave and refrigerator\n\nThe room was clean and quiet, it included a refrigerator and microwave, which I didn't expect in a 2 star rated hotel. I was in town for work and had to check out quickly in the morning, so I did not have a chance to check out the breakfast options.
I stayed here as a layover on a trip from Illinois to Minnesota with my husband. We opted to stay here based on the price (cheap!) and what a mistake that was. The furniture was out of date, the bathroom floor was dirty, the hot water did not work (had to make a call to the front desk and was...
close to college hills mall\n\nhotel was very outdated. couldnt walk to more than one restaurant without crossing busy highway\n\nStaff was friendly and knowledgable. But the hotel itself was very outdated and old. The sofa in the room looked dirty & old and I did not want to sit it! the mini fridge and microwave in the room was clean and came in handy!
By the time you read this, it may already be a Howard Johnson's. The desk clerks (all very nice) tells me that the name change is coming. By being part of a now defunct chain (Signature Inns), it certainly keeps this place hidden. I'm guessing that the chain's original idea was to offer the amenities of a Holiday Inn in...
The double queen room needed the decor to be refreshed and the carpets cleaned. Not sure the bedspreads were ever cleaned. The ceilings had been spot painted and not very well. The paint was on the wall as well so it looked pretty sloppy. Wallpaper was peeling up at the corners. Breakfast was all carbs. No fruit and only 2%...
I arrived late and tired. Was checked in quickly and pleasantly. My room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast and coffee at the hotel were appreciated since my day started very early.
The overall experience was ok, nothing special. What kept it from pleasing or superb was the cleanliness of the carpet was suspect, the furniture finish looked old and dry, and the chair's fabric was getting threadbare. While the price was right, there are many other choices in the Bloomington-Normal area, and we'll be trying them in the future. We have stayed here before, and it was better.
Extremely good price.\n\nThe hotel is in desperate need of a remodel, but the price reflected that.
The price was great. We basically checked in, slept and got up the next morning to get back on the road.\n\nHotel needs upkeep and upgrades. The front desk staff said that the hotel was in the process of being bought by a chain which explains the lack of upkeep and upgrades.\n\nIt was what we expected for the price. Location was good. Hotel was quiet.
There was nothing outstanding about this hotel.\n\nThe linens on the bed were not fresh and clean. The bedspread was dirty.\n\nIt is difficult to look past the problem with the bedding. We did not get a restful night's sleep because the linens did not smell fresh. We attempted to complain to the front desk, but to no avail.
For the price this was outstanding.\n\nNo.\n\nIf you are looking to sleep cheep, this place is outstanding. It is clean and friendly, right on Veterans Parkway, computer, coffee and non smoking 1st floor rooms.
Rooms were decent. Front desk help could be quicker at check-in at check-out.
Who are these people giving good ratings to this hotel? Have they stayed in hotels before? Because this place is really kind of a dump. It's clean enough, I suppose, but the furniture is plywood from the 80s, the mattresses seem like they're just about as old, the pillows are flat as pancakes, the (pink) wallpaper is peeling off the...
I had a conference to attend and the hotel was nearby and the hotel where the conference was being held was quite expensive. The Signature Inn staff were very accomidating and provided service beyond what they needed to. The rooms are far from fancy but were clean and I was more than satisfied for the price.
I like nothing about this hotel.\n\nThey have the worst beds, I've ever slept in.\n\nThey have the worst beds ever. It's like sleeping on piece of wood.
Great place to stay . Breakfast bar was very good. Met all expectations.
Nothing.\n\nEverything. The room had bed bugs and was disgusting.
Carpet was spotted and very dirty. Pillows were shot. Bath towels were old and thin. TV remote did not work. Bathroom was clean. If it wasn't , I would have left. Carpeted stairway from lobby was dirty, stained. There was a hole in the lobby ceiling where it appeared water broke through it.
We enjoyed the visit to this hotel even though the decor could use updating. The room was c lean, comfortable and free of smoke smell. We appreciated the comfy chair and kitchenette. The desk could be useful for business travelers. Perfect location for ISU events. Our continental breakfast was adequate but could use some fruit. The desk staff was not attentive at check in. Instead of...
The beds were very uncomfortable. We have previously been satisfied with your hotels. Hotel amenities were at the minimum. But the location of the Inn was located at the right place for us. We would probably try it again in the future and another room would be fine.
This hotel may not earn awards for trendy decor, but our room was very comfortable and spacious. We found all the areas of the hotel to be clean, tidy and open. Our room included a small kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator and freezer. Very helpful. Also the corner desk unit was a plus for business-oriented trips. The continental breakfast was adequate...
Hotel staff screwed up reservation we asked for a non smoking room, but got put in a room that smelled like a bar. Hotel keys don't work in the door. Room is very dirty and many things are broken tht need fixing like the lock on the door which fell off as we opened the door. I felt gross staying...
Dated and old. Below average hotel for the area its located. Stayed a week for business. Air conditioner made horrid noise. Bidders beware. The ratings are outdated and not accurate for what you get. The price is average but the experience is poor.
Good for a night to sleep. Nothing fancy. Breakfast poor.
Not clean, not a hospitable staff, not ever staying here again.
For all parents of Illinois State students, look at other hotels in the area!!!! The price that they charge for this hotel is not worth staying here. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the school however the rooms are in a desperate need for remodeling!!! Our room had wallpaper peeling off from the walls along with serious water damage on the ceiling. Also, the comforter on the bed looked like...
I couldn't get past the idea I was back in the 1980s. No new fixtures or furniture. Old wall mounted air conditioning/ heating unit was loud and ran all night. Breakfast was sufficient but not inviting as everything was covered in plastic wrap.
We book a room with two double beds for my daughter and I. When we checked into our room, it had one old looking bed in the room. I went to the front desk and the manager told me because I booked not directly through the hotel I was guaranteed a room, but not the room I paid for. I went back to the room and looked at the bed again and decided we could not stay in that room. I went back to...
When you walk in, it feels right out of the 70's. However, the lobby looked dated, not worn. I looks cared for. The room was the same, dated, but very clean. Nice amenities and spacious. We had a third person, and while they were fully booked, the did everything they could to accommodate us. The desk staff were all very...
I spent 4 nights at the Signature Inn. After the first night, I wished that I had spent the extra 10 dollars per night to stay elsewhere. The hotel appeared dated and run down. Looking past the brass and florescent colors decor, there were areas in the hotel that were in disrepair. For instance, my particular room had wallpaper that was peeling off the wall and there were areas of the carpet...
The hotel was not maintained very well. The lobby was good. But the rooms were dingy and dirty. Could not stand the smell. It smelt like a old basement in there. Free breakfast was the worst. I understand it is free but that doesn't mean you serve crap. There was absolutely nothing and what was served was old and bad. The house keeping staff was not very good. They did not do it regularly and...
I was very comfortable--everything was clean, too.
IF you are lucky enough to get a remodeled room, you will do fine. We weren't so lucky. Booked 2 nights so we wouldn't have to move the kids and so much stuff...our a/c went out the 2nd night. My husband (Mr. Fix-it) brought in his own tool to fix it, since even the knob was broken off. With no success, we had to move rooms. They do serve breakfast - as long as you're comfortable asking for...
My stay was perfect . the price was great
TV started out in color in the evening, was black and white by morning. The entire hotel did not get ABC, desk clerk said they had requested it but they hadn't gotten it yet. The dead bolt lock on our door broke in half, just trying to close it...real secure.
good place, clean environment no body can smoke in the hotel and that's something good especially for none smoking.
The whole place smelled like cigarettes as if the just made it non smoking in the last few weeks. The hotel was pretty run down. Staff was friendly but there is only so much that they can do.
This was a perfectly suitable hotel. I don't know WHAT those who rated it low were thinking. Must be hoity-toity hotel regulars that like only the "newest" and freshest hotels. I found this hotel just what i expected for the lower price than all the others hotels in the area.
The hotel staff is very nice. The rooms smelled like mold, especially in the bathroom. Carpet in front of the fridge was very stained and smelled funky. Needs an overhaul. For the price I thought the place would be alot nicer.
met our needs, good location, easy parking, large breakfast area
not enough pillowsCarpets dirtyair quality difficult to regulate
I tend to look at the picture of the rooms when I am renting a hotel. Based on what the beds look like is how I choose my hotel. The picture that is represented does not match what was found. The pillows were very flat and the bed was extrememly hard. They do have nice showers and a good breakfast but next time I will go someplace else.
April 25 checked in to Signature Inn, Bloomington, Normal for attending a funeral.
10 years ago, this hotel was good. If you are visitng this great area, it is best to have a reservation well before the date needed. I normally stay at the HIExpress, but needed a handicap room this time, chose Signature Inn after visiting their website, etc....
The hotel location is very good, but the rooms themselves are rather dated. The bathtub was cracked and there were many spots where the finish was missing. There was a crusted stain on the counter by the bathroom sink. I would overlook these things, however, if the bed and pillows weren't so uncomfortable. The pillows were way too thick and hurt my neck. The bed sloped down towards the center,...
This place should not be called a hotel...it is a motel all the way. My bedspread was stained, as was the carpet, and the bathroom floor clearly hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. When I took the bedspread off because it was stained there was nothing covering the yellowing box spring. The shower barely turned on and the mattress and pillows were horribly uncomfortable. Besides the fact...
Stinky and foul smell in the room. Kitchen is not clean and breakfast is not good.
Again poor maintenance.I tripped on carpet entering the elevator. Had to have a new key each day, be
It's an inexpensive, older hotel in a college town. Located near a few grocery stores, a Starbucks and plenty of restaurants. It's fine if you're just planning in sleeping there. It even has a microwave and a fridge in the room!
The hotel staff at the front desk were very nice but this hotel has not been updated and the rooms are dirty, stained carpeting, cob webs etc. We went out and purchased our own blankets and pillows to use in the room. We were very tempted to just sleep in the car. Couldn't wait until the sun came up to check out.
Friendly staffgreat locationmay need to upgrade mattresses-not very comfortablebut good size rooms
Me and my family stayed over parents weekend, the staff was awesome and helpful. I initially booked the reservation thru an outside vendor the reservation was all screwed up; however staff at the Signature Inn went to and beyond to assure we were well accomodated. The hotel definitely needs some work - overall this establishment is ok, We will defnitely...
I had a wedding at the Chateau in Bloomington and when their hotel reached capacity, they recommended the Signature as a "sister" hotel to get a room block. I did read the reviews before I booked the block and most reviews said "okay for one night." Well...MANY of my guests who stayed at the Signature used the word "disgusting" to...
This hotel was very cheap but the inside of our room smelled like urine, the wallpaper was peeling off at the ceiling. The ceiling had multiple repairs and had a bad paint job. It's in a good location though for ISU parents.
Rude hotel staff and the place is a dump.
This place has been in Normal for a while now. Although a clean room, needs major updating including the beds, bathroom, etc... Convenient location and a decent deal for the quality.
Staff was very couteous and helpfull. We rented a car within walking distance and spent 3 full days exploring the area for Family History Project.
We reservede a room for three males 2 months before our book date. When we arrived they had a room with one bed and no cotts available. If I reserve a room for three people I expect the room to at least have two beds..When we asked the staff where the ice machine was she replied she didnt really know..(its only three floors).
I book a single, non-smoking room for the weekend. However, upon my arrival, the hotel claimed they had no reservation from me. When I produced my orbitz confirmation number, the hotel explained that orbitz must have forgotten to send the reservation information. After about thirty to forty minutes, the desk clerk returned with a fax she had received from orbitz with my room confirmation...
The 2 day stay at the hotel was really great. no issues and close ti ISU campus
I help my friend move to Bloomington and we stayed over at this hotel. The room is big , clean and nice with affordable price.
Hotel staff was pleasant, but found dirty towels in room when I checked in. After asking the hotel staff to take care of them while I was out, they did not do it. Would look for another hotel next time I am in Normal...
Room was fairly clean... but had a broken recliner
Our yearly trip to Bloomington for the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Location was great; only minutes from the Ewing Manor. We were close to restaurantsRooms were quiet and clean. This year on Sunday night there was a softball tournament and also a conference going on with lots of people in the lobby and hallways. Once our door was closed, we heard nothing. Only complaint -- another chair...
The price was right. The room was adequate for one night. I will most likely use this motel as future stopover on my "Route 66" trips. It is a little over half way to Chicago. Breakfast was good. Place was clean.
We were doing a triathlon about 20 minutes north of Normal and since Normal was the biggest town to it, we chose this hotel because of the closeness to the interstate and event. We were extremely pleased with the cleaniness, and help and what we really wanted - quiet so we could rest. Food and shopping and mall were close by and most within walking distance.
the location was not that greatthe hotel seemed dirty.not a 3 star-maybe 1 1/2
We spent one night there on our way to Chicago. Room was clean, quiet and a decent value. Staff was friendly. The mall and restaurants were within walking distance, about a half mile or less.
Easy to locate. Near restaurants and shopping. The pool was what we needed. The price worked for us.
great place for a quiet getaway..lots of food variety and shopping
This hotel is a dump. Our "non-smoking" room reaked of cigarettes. The first room we were given was already occupied, the room that smelled was number two. The breakfast was unedible. I would not pay over $35 for this room and I will not stay here ever again. There are plenty of other hotel rooms available on Veteran's Parkway every bit as convenient
The hotel was close to the state university for the Special Olympic events.
We were in town to attend the special olympics, the staff was very helpful finding our way around town. The room and lobby were neat and clean and they served a nice breakfast. Could use a second or third waffel iron
Excellent accomodations, service and amenities conveniently located near Illinois State University, shopping, and restaurants.
A Little bit shabby, but overall nice hotel, great location and excellent price. The staff was friendly.
We were going to Bloomington-Normal to visit my husband's brother that attends college there. We were only staying one night and were just looking for some place to stay, nothing fancy. The hotel was clean, but a little bit older. The breakfast included was actually really good. They kept things individually wrapped, which was nice. I hate when things have just been sitting out in the open...
We stayed here on our way through the area, and it was fine for our purposes. We had lots of options of restaurants to walk to for dinner. However, it was a good ways off of the interstate, I would have had a lot of trouble getting here without my GPS. The ice machines on two of the floors were...
My family was stranded in Bloomington late at night when our vehicle broke down in the rain. We were so fortunate to be close to this Signature Inn. Our 90 yr old grandma was sitting in the van, which was parked several blocks from the hotel. The desk clerk graciously loaned us her personal car to transport grandma to the...
It's nothing fancy but it's a great stay for a good price. The rooms aren't the best but the continental breakfast is great.
Nothing to really recommend this motel except the price. Maid left a dirty wash cloth in the shower from the prior huest
[...] The hotel was great and luckily got some cancellations at the last minute as there were no other rooms in town. We traveled since 4 A.M. to find we had no rooms, thanks to [...]. Due to some last minute cancellations the Signature Inn got us rooms although some had to sleep on the floor. [...]. My advice book direct.
This was a horrible experience. The room was dusty and the fridge did not work. I would not go back to this institution.
I was in Bloomington for outpatient surgery. The hotel was a mile or less from the hospital. Also, a huge selection of restaurants, shopping, etc. all within that same mile. So conveient! The hotel itself was CLEAN, and staff was friendly and helpful. One of the MOST COMFORTABLE beds I've ever found at a hotel.
Very clean. There should be more than two pillows on a queen size bed but it was comfortable. Also not enough soap in bathroom. Plenty of room and good breakfast included in price. Would not hesitate to book it again.
rooms are clean but dated, shower head could use replacement so limed up water flow was bad.
We were in Normal for Family Weekend at Illinois State University. This hotel was the perfect location, very clean, and nice lobby and rooms. My son even commented that he liked the comfy beds. The continental breakfast was better than most I've had in other hotels. I would say you can't beat this hotel for the price. I will definately stay here again.
Room was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast could use some sprucing up, but otherwise, a very nice place to stay at a decent price.
The hotel was fine. Friendly staff and a very convenient location. The rooms were a little out of date but clean. The breakfast was fine.
Its ok, but not worth the amount paid, I would have got lot better room, for the same price, external apperance looks ok, but inside its not.
Pricelined this hotel for $30 for the night and for that money, found the hotel adequate for our needs.. i know the hotel goes for twice as much as that for the rack rate so i guess one could say my expectations we not as high.
Anyways, the employees were all very nice. They did put us in a room...
The staff was great, clean room and a shuttle was available to and from both Normal Airport and Train Station.
I was looking for a place to spend 12 hours for some rest before my appointment. Signature Inn Bloomington Normal was about a block from where I needed to be. When I arrived I was checked-in in about 2 minutes and found my room comfortable, clean and well furnished. I had a cup of coffee from their breakfast buffet the next morning, I was very pleased.
Hotel needs a good cleaning and updating, top to bottom.
We came for the special olympics baskeball games, the rooms were ok and the staff was wonderful. They went over and above everything that we asked of them. I've not had such wonderful service in a very long time. Yes I would definatley recommend this Motel to someone.
The hotel I booked was not even substandard. The hotel was very old, there was severe water damage in the hallways, the rooms were musty and the photos on the website did not even come close to what condition the hotel was in. I am severely disappointed that I paid over $90 for this dump. I also found food under a piece of furniture when I moved it do yoga. There were also several pubic...
me and my husband has stayed at the signature inn several times, we usually stay on weekends because we go to visit my daughter who is in college at ISU. We have had a problem everytime we have stayed, usually the front desk associate will handle the problem, but on too many occasions i will ask to see a manager...
I booked the room for 34 bucks on Hotwire. They call it a 2 1/2 star hotel, which is pushing it. The rooms are clean-ish and very basic, but you do get a little fridge/freezer, which is nice. The bed was find and the pillows were a-ok.
There were no problems with the front desk staff, the heater and the...
The motel was sufficient for our needs. [...]
Just a lousy motel, third rate in every way. We had to change from our first room, even drenched in air freshener it stank of DOGS. The second room had a poorly cleaned shower, crushed M&M's on the floor, and needed to be mopped. The breakfast carb counter is welcome, how about you find someone to keep the area clean? I wouldn't stay here again, even if it was free!
The place smells of dogs and smokers, had to change rooms. 2nd room was not well cleaned, dirty shower and bathroom floor need mopping. Surly desk staff on room change, just a lousy motel!
Very accomodating when we asked to change rooms. I doubt anyone could find a better room rate.
I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. I paid 200 dollars for two nights, and was denied ANY extra pillows by the front desk. The furniture was outdated and smelly and many of the appliances did not work. The vending machine AND ice machine was broken, and it appeared they had been that way for quite some time. No...
Although the location was great, I would not recommend this hotel! You do not get what you pay for. The appliances were incredibly outdated, the TV did not work, the vending and ice machine were broken (they did not have any others), and the cleaning crew never came by! Gross. I was even denied any extra pillows when I asked. I had friends who stayed at the hotel as well, and their keys stopped...
The rooms were overpriced, dirty, and very outdated. TV was broken, alarm clock did not work, and the bathtub actually had grime in it. Ice machine and vending machines were broken, and when I asked if there were any other machines, the clerk told me to go to McDonalds. They even said they didn't have any extra pillows or towels....
I have stayed at this signature inn several times in the past and everytime I stay there the staff makes it me feel like I am at home. Every thing is just wonderful. Al Selk
We were there for a good friend's wedding, and although we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, it was very pleasant when we were there. They surprised me by having a corkscrew available, when we failed to have an alternative to open a bottle of wine. The room was very comfortable, and the service was great.
I stay in hotels all the time and this was one of the best and cleanliness I have been to. The staff was friendly and helpful and the customer service was great. I look forward to staying here again.
We were only in the hotel to sleep.
All the staff is very friendly and very helpful and very quick to serve as necessary. The free breakfast shows clearly why it's free: cold cereal, milk, pre packaged oatmeal, generic waffles, white bread, bad coffee, poor quality orange juice, etc. The room was clean and pleasant, the climate controls work well. The wi-fi connection was weak in the room.
Was at this same hotel a few weeks ago and had a lovely, large room w/extended work area and chair and ottoman. This trip, the work area and room were much smaller, the chair for the work area had an arm ready to fall off, the coffee had to be unplugged (off button broken) and no chair w/ottoman. It's a decent enough place but starting to show its age.
Easy to see from highway(Veteran's Parkway). Next to mall and several eateries. Pool is surrounded by shrubs for privacy, but you are at a busy, noisy intersection. Nice touch to add breakfast. Clean, large rooms, but watch out for the moldy shower curtain.
The wall papers was falling off the walls, I coudn't believe it. The place has an overall bad smell, and a dirty feel. The staff was friendly, but not anywhere near enough to make up for the bad smell. worn carpet, outdated decor, cold pool, small beds. The breakfast is an average free hotel breakfast at best, a few cerals,...
As a business traveler, I have become accustomed to a certain standard. This property is substandard in everyway however the price didn't reflect this. My company booked this hotel. I was immediately concerned when I saw it wasn't a familiar name. I expected something along the line of a spruced up Motel 6 but it didn't even come close to...
We had a very pleasant time at Signature Inn. We came down on Labor Day Weekend to visit our son at ISU, and really enjoyed ourselves. Our family enjoyed relaxing by the outdoor swimming pool. The location is very convenient to everything, from shopping to ISU, which is about 2 miles away and the airport. .Each morning we ate a...
This was our first stay in a Signature Inn. The staff was very friendly. They had a very nice breakfast setup. The room was great! There is a nice comfy chair and ottoman, double bed and a large desk. The room also had a microwave and refrigerator. We only stayed one night, so we didn't get a chance to use the pool or the fitness room, but they both looked nice! The hotel is in a...
This hotel was pet friendly. The staff was excellent to humans too!
This is just an average hotel. My room was clean but tired looking. The AC unit is under the drapes and when you turn on AC or heat, the air blows behind the curtains delivering a musty, unpleasant smell and not much air movement. I used a lamp and a wastebasket to push the drapes to the window. The continental...
This is a convenient place to stay when visiting your student. The hotel is clean and quite. Free breakfast, including waffles and cereal, was included.
I got a good price, but the hotel is a little older. A grade below Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. Good location near restaurants.
I have stayed at this location for years and this is the first time that I felt that it is going downhill. The room was not very clean. The bathroom floor was dirty and the drain in the shower had hair in it. I was pretty disgusted actually. I will not stay at this property in the future.
My husband and I are both handicapped. We received a handicapped room.
It was dirty. We were there for four days. They never made the bed or changed the sheets the whole time, even when I requested it from the front desk.
The room was full of millipedes. I was bitten several times. The bite is not extremely painful, but...
Very Clean Hotel, Staff was always willing to go the extra steps to make my stay perfect. Great express breakfast, not the usual Dounuts and muffins sealed in plastic, but a very large selction of items all fresh.
