I used this company 2 years ago when they were out of New Jersey. Now they are a ""different"" company based out of Queens. Let me just say, this has turned into literally the WORST company to work with during your move. The ""people"" in the office are the RUDEST and ineffective resource. I moved a one bedroom apartment two days ago and my personal experience was marvelous! I was quoted 75 dollars per hour and that is what i payed for. They helped me packed and they put everything very careful in the truck. I was told by the office not to tip the workers but i couldn't help my self. Keep up the Good work Shelli Van Lines!

shellivanlines moved me last saturday despite the bad reviews i decided to go with the company because they were very polite on the phone. The whole job took only one hour and ten minutes but they billed me for seven hours after being assured the job should not take more than 3 hours. Worse experience ever. They repeatedly lied about the pricing up front and jacked up the price after they arrived at the destination and had secured signatures and our items. Their quote was $400 less than the next best offer but they ended up costing us over $1000 more. We even got police involved but once you sign on the dotted line with this company you're a victim. I moved with shelli and because of some reviews i was not going to go ahead with the move but i was convinced by the lady at the office the actual move was actually not bad at all i must say i was very surprised my move was last minute i could not find any one else to move me in such little time they really came and saved the day for me i wasn't over charged and my things were not damaged i'm very happy with them and i'd use them again any time.

Worst experience with moving company ever. This price is totally ripped off. The amount they charged is 4 times you can think of for a regular 10 miles move and when we asked they said unless you pay full cash they will take our stuff to storage and they will charge additional 100 dollar per day which is totally unjustified.NEVER use this company.They never gave proper quote before moving and they charged exorbitant price for Packaging material and attitude of driver and staff was horrible. Also they damaged(broken sheiling) my new apartment with the moving stuff and even he did not put proper screw on my Bed while assembling. so this is total fraud/cheating and will never recommend to anyone.

Worse company ever!!! I was given a quote of $65 and hour with 4 guys and a truck. No other charges...well what a lie!!! They showed up an hour early even though I confirmed a 9AM start twice the day earlier!!! When the ""forman"" gave me the papers to sign he told me COD or a cashiers check. This was a 3rd floor apartment to a 2nd floor apartment move, so it definitly was not an easy task but the guys sure made it look easy. All my items were transported carefully and everything arrived intact. The price was what I was quoted, so there were no hidden or extra fees. I was refferred to Shelli Vanlines Moving by someone I really didn't know in my apartment complex so I took my chances and everything worked out fine.

I secured Shelli Vanlines Moving to move a small amount of furniture and boxes to my Mothers home. I had a pretty good experience with them overall. I had them store the items for a month until i was ready to have them delivered. I was satisfied with both the office personal and the two movers who picked the items up. This was a fairly small job but still glad all went smooth from price to delivery and the price point being where they said it was going to be.

After reading some of the mixed reviews I was unsure what to take of it as some people seemed to have a horrible experience while others had a great experience. Very worst experience in my Life time. Over phone they told that they will charge $65 per hour. I asked them very clearly if there is any minimum charge and they told no. After they come they get some signatures and they fill in the incorrect date and they trap you and say you need to pay for 5 hours which is $420 otherwise pay a cancellation fee of $160. Please never ever sign their papers. They totally cheat people. When I refused to pay they took back my material.I lost all my items. Please never ever call this service. I'm going to make short and to the point.. They took advantage of an old lady that doesn't read English. The driver told her to sign a paper for deliver, "" she ask what that was "" and a driver who spoke Spanish told her just to sign and hurry up because time was running.. Once everything was loaded they told her she was to pay $1800 for 25 boxes and a dinner room table.. Since she wasn't't able to pay it I full they took her things. I recently used Shelli Vanlines for a move in the Bronx.

For starters the crew was on time and very professional. i elected to go with a flat rate to avoid extra unknown charges. All moving material was included. The crew assisted in packing and took care to cover furniture and personal belongings. The price for the move was approximately $850.00 for a one bedroom apartment.

With every move one can expect minor damage, even with the most careful of crews. As was the case a bookshelf was scratched, but overall i would not hesitate to call Shelli Vanlines on my next move.

Let me first start off by saying i learned a very expensive lesson! I originally had hire another mover however they ended up cancelling due to date i was moving.

I got a call from this company and they gave me a great quote or so i thought. She stated it was $75.00 an hour. All i was moving was my bedroom set, 3 boxes, a plant , 2 AC's and a microwave. THAT'S IT!!!

can't giive them even one star. The company is cheating customers in every possible way. They are not honest when give you a quote and so-called promotional rate of $65. When the movers come, first thing they say - if you cancel (because of the extra charges you were not prepared for) you have to pay $250 cancellation fee - basically give you no choice to decline them. I can't even say they were quick and efficient. Also they did not listen to what I said, and packed the items that I did not want them to. \r

I called to get a quote and they told me $65 an hour and no travel time, I even called a second time to confiirm ... Well like the others who have reviewed this, I was also taken to the cleaners by them. They charged me for taking the items more than 50 feet from the door $225 for blanked (I did not get to keep them) packing tape and 4 hours of travel time. The bill I expected of $365 became over $1,000. I was Peeny Wide and Pound foolish, I got other quotes that were higher, but included all of this. Do NOT use them. I am filing complaints with the BBB and the Attorney General's...

All of the negative reviews about this company are true. My fiance and I experienced it first hand last week. We were given a quote of $65/hour and it was emailed to us. There was no mention of any additional charges, travelling time fees, packing fees, or a 5-hour minimum. After our belongings were packed onto the truck, the ""foreman"" named ""Rob"" informed my fiance that there was a 5-hour minimum plus a 1-hour travel time fee. after reading these reviews I wish I would have do so sooner and I never would have booked this company. Now that I have read the reviews I am thankful they never showed up. I booked this company for my local move and the quote i was given was oly for days that my move was not schedualed. they knowingly told me a price that was not valid. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

My furniture was loaded in haste and will little care.

Once loaded and transported the moving crew held my furniture hostage until I agreed to pay an amount that I had never agreed to in the first place, and which was never stated on the quotes sent to me before the move date.

For example, the moving crew claimed that they had used 25 tape rolls for $5 a piece...They charged us $100 for using the elevator, $150 for having to use the stair case

They charged me for an hour travel time and a five hour minimum, something again, I had never agreed to. More...

My experience with Shelly Van Lines moving company was a nightmare. This moving Company never showed on my moving date, and when I called the company in a panic; I spoke with Shelly herself and her attitude was terrible, she did not care about my small job to say the least.Always check the company reference. During reservation with Shelly Van lines, she promised me the world, but gave me stress on a level you could not imagine. (BEWARE).

I am a believer that everyoe deserves a chance, but this company does not. I was ripped off badly. I was quoted $65 an hour which was suppose to include almost everthing. It took the movers about three hours to pack, it took us an hour and 30 mins to get to the storage area, it took them 3 hours( granted they could not use certain routes). When they got there, they gave us a total of $1490 due before we could get our belongings. Thye changred us for tolsl when was suppose to be included, they changed for ""long run"" $150.00.
