This 4 star hotel has a location that can not be beat. The room was large and the bathroom was very large. For a 4 star hotel, however, I was not impressed. The lobby was not impressive, nor was the room decor. Very middle of the road. Our room smelled of smoke, and we were told to have the ionizer... more

If you are visiting Baltimore's Inner Harbor, it's be tough to beat the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel. It's a first class hotel with first class service and accommodations. It is expensive. I got a good deal via a Marriott Rewards member email. Note that valet parking is $36 a night as of this writing. Yes, that is competitive with other hotels... more

Took a side trip to Baltimore from DC Stayed on July 2nd for 1 day. I stayed at the Renaissance 7/6/08-7/9/08. This hotel is in a great location, right across the street from the Inner Harbor area which has lots of shops and restaurants. I was in meetings all day at another hotel so I did not get a chance to check out everything the hotel has to offer. The staff I encountered was very... more

I stayed at this hotel with my family on July 4, 2008. It was incredible! The whole hotel was clean and beautiful, including our room. My wife and I recently had a wonderful “weekend getaway” in Baltimore, and one of the reasons why it was great was because of our stay at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. This was our second stay in five years at Renaissance Harborplace. We hadn't been to the inner harbor for at least 15 years and thought it would be nice to take a quick overnight getaway to see some sites, in particular, the Nat'l Aquarium. The location of this hotel is wonderful. Exactly what my wife and I expected during a trip to Baltimore. However for the price and rating of the hotel, I expected a bit more. The room service food was below average in my opinion considering the premium you pay for such luxuries. Also depending on the room you get, many of them are a fair walk from the elevators. Excellent location, In the middle of It all! Comfortable, luxurious beds but the rooms need to be sound-proofed! You can hear the noise coming from the hallways (not good when you're trying to have a good nights sleep)! The rooms and bathrooms can use some updating and renovations as the decor and furniture are a little outdated.

I had a room that was a serious hike from the elevator. Seriously. The room was clean but small and when ordering room service. It was worth what I paid and I would stay there again for that price. I've read people got it for as low as $75 a night.

The location of the hotel without a doubt is excellent. The housekeeping is questionable. I spilled salad dressing on the bed throw expecting housekeeping to change the throw the next day. They did not change the throw and place it back on the bed. A 4 star hotel would have changed the throw and not placed it back on the bed.
