PF Changs China Bistro

OK For Lunch and While At the Mall

Review Rating
PF Changs has decent Chinese food (not great gourmet Chinese food or like a meal at a dim sum palace) but it's good enough for a workday lunch or when you are shopping at the mall. Prices are affordable and the service is always bright and cheerful. The restaurant is pretty large, so I have never had to make reservations, but I hear it gets pretty busy at night. Parking is in the Media Center Mall or on San Fernando.

Even though there's the Gourmet 888 around the corner from this PF Chang's, we often lunch with friends that are not avid Chinese cuisine fans (unlike myself, who could happily live off authentic Chinese). So, for chinese, we often end up here. The selection is pretty varied and for a light lunch, I'll order a cup of the hot & sour soup (which is mildly peppery compared to Gourmet 888's) and the steamed shui mai. For something more substantial, I highly recommend the lemon pepper shrimp. Oh, and you can get brown rice here, which is kinda nice if you're in the mood for that healthy eating stuff. Service is reasonable here, haven't had too many delays.

Usually the cornerstone of newly-built shopping plazas, P.F. Changs army of Chinese bistros offer standardized Asian cuisine for the mall-bound masses. However, aesthetic details like ornate statues, dark stained wood and low-lighting, along with fresh food and options like brown rice, elevate this chain from total blandness.

In Short Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. Lazy service

We have been to other locations(Pasadena, Las Vegas) and they all have great service.
It seems that in this particular location they care less about customers. It will take 15 or 20 minutes till your waiter approaches you and takes the orders for drinks. Food is great just like other locations.
They need to train their staff better, they need to be more friendly.
One thing I know for sure, we... more

PF Chang's is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The food is always consistent and I've only ever gotten great service here! If there is every a problem, a manager will promptly take care of whatever you need. I've dined at PF Chang's all over the country and have always been satisfied. The restaurant in the Burbank Media Center lives up to the chain's reputation. It can get... more

Americanized Chinese food, cool ambiance

I've eaten at this particular PF Chang's a number of times (as well as others all over CA), and the most satisfying was a late lunch on a hot weekend, sitting out on the front patio with water mist spraying down. The food's pretty much the same at all the PF Chang's, and for chain-food you could do alot worse. Our service was horrible outside and it was a good thing we weren't in a rush. Inside... more

PF's newest location is my pick for the best in town. The Pasadena location is a close second. I can't say I've had anything on the menu that I didn't like. The shrimp dumplings are a must for an appetizer. You might have to wait for decent table, but my tip is to try the bar. Especially for a couple. My new favorite is the chocolate torte. It's not on the menu but ask for it ... it'll... more

Ever judge a restaurant by their patrons? Err...Let me rephrase that. Ever judge how good a Chinese Restaurant is by the number/ratio of Chinese people eating there? (smile) I know you have.... and right you should! From my experience... In the 160 seat capacity restaurant, I counted a total of only 4 Asians dining Saturday night. So for what ever that's worth... you can draw your own... more

New Chinese on the block. P.F. Chang's (yes, a chain) opened a new location in Corte Madera on Monday. Having enjoyed their food when in other parts of the country, I decided to stop in and see how this location measures up. We started with their steamed shrimp dumplings. These were served quickly, and piping hot and we would definitely order these tasty morsels again. The next two... more
