The Parkview Hotel A Boutique Hotel Located in Downtown Syracuse New York. Chic downtown Syracuse. Those three words just go together don't they? Here are three more words: The Parkview Hotel. Our lobby and sitting area has a great big roaring fireplace large screen televisions and inviting couches. This is contemporary meets art-deco, funky meets comfortable and the end result is a boutique...
Room clean and good size. Staff very nice. Breakfast was good Had Internet connection problems which were a real inconvenience
My room was large and clean and even had a kitchenette.
The shower was one I had never seen before..two shower heads worked at the same time...a great massage!
Parking was and breakfast were included!
We stayed at the Parkview Hotel for a one night stop over on the road to Niagara. What a great decision! Room was clean, well appointed and spacious. Complimentary breakfast more than adequate, but the best part of the hotel was the knowledgeable and helpful staff who were very personable. The reception area and bar very very cosy with reasonable...
I came here for the weekend with my boyfriend and had an amazing stay. The beds were huge, and we both slept very comfortably. The room also includes a flat screen TV, and the option to adjust the room temperature. The hotel also had a nice bar and free breakfast in the morning which we both enjoyed.
i stayed here with my mom over thanksgiving/black friday weekend. we absolutely loved it. it's a very cute boutique hotels, with very nice rooms. it's in a great location, and it's steps away from downtown and our favourite restaurant, dinosaur BBQ. the man who checked us in was really helpful, and suggested an amazing pizza place for us to order...
I think too pricy for non season and non event night. The stuff esp those under 30ish are very interested in themselves, easy to read that as well as lack of professional sincerity. Food at bar was, doggy. Lack of security out front.
I stayed one night on business, the room was BIG, with a kitchenette and more windows than you can shake a stick at with nice shutters for privacy without blacking out the whole room, a nice touch. Strong Hearts Cafe is on the same block for any vegetarians/vegans needs, or just for great coffee (sans cow-milk cream). The staff was...
Friendly staff, clean rooms, and close to downtown and other amenities. The only downsides: noisy wall AC/heat unit, and slow wifi. The airport shuttle driver is quick and friendly. I would definitely like to stay here again in the future.
This was my second visit at the Parkview Hotel touring Syracuse University with our youngest son. There is a quaintness about this hotel that sets it apart from the bigger hotel chains. The rooms are a good size, beds comfortable, and very clean. The staff were very accommodating and even checked the weather forecast for our travel plans upon leaving....
A quiet location only 15 minute walk from anything you desire. This is modern comfort with old school quality and style. You will feel like you are in an old mansion. The public area is a rare treat for this old road warrior....spacious, good furniture. Oh, the bathroom tile will remind you of your grandmothers real tile. The showers are...
Wonderful older hotel close to downtown. We had a very nice room with a comfortable king size bed, The staff were very helpful in suggesting places to see and nearby restaurants . The hotel is walking distance to the Erie Canal Museum which was a wonderful experience. It has an extensive breakfast buffet with many delicious choices.
The hotel was clean, nicely appointed and convenient to highways. This is an older hotel that was very nicely renovated. There is plenty of convenient parking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi and breakfast are included!
This a nice place, with an "old school" decoration.
Location is good and hotel is clean. Fitness room is a little bit small and stifling.
However, price is expensive in regards of quality of this hotel.
Short distance to Syracuse University and the free breakfast is chef prepared, a great value!
Love this hotel. My daughter goes to school in Syracuse i always stay here if possible.
the room was clean and neat, little outside street noise to be heard. the room was a little cold as it was an end room and I stayed in February! I had to have surgery at Crouse hospital, it was just down the street from the hospital. It had a microwave, small refrig, dishware for in room eating (leftovers from going out to eat). Had to use the key card to get into the hotel from the back...
No major issues with the stay. Room was clean and it was an enjoyable weakened. Wifi was horrible and barely worked throughout our stay. Housekeeping did bare minimum. Otherwise great for an average hotel stay, and great location.
This is a nice clean boutique hotel in the heart of Syracuse. I arrived during a blizzard on the night of a SU basketball game and wasn't sure if the hotel would honor their "free shuttle" to/from the airport but they sure did and the driver was a godsend. He was so friendly and helpful despite the treacherous conditions. Once at the hotel, I was given a room but the air conditioner/heating...
Came back to the hotel late in the day and the room was never made. The staff were not too willing to make it right. Only one elevator working.
Not flashy, a comfortable stay while visiting my son. I will stay here again.
Friendly staff- quick and easy in & out Very nice clean rooms !
The staff as you walk in the front door were always greeting us with a smile and a hello. The hotel itself is beautiful, older building but with all updated accommodations. I LOVED the mattress. Don't know what kind they were but the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on in a hotel. Appreciated the constant shuttle service provided...
The hotel met all expectations, reasonable rate, very clean and updated rooms in a quiet area not for from Syracuse campus - check in- check out was very quick & easy and staff very friendly!
Was a outstanding older, very classy hotel. You get the feel like you're going out for a night in the 'cuse in a 5 star 1950s hotel. I loved this place, for sure plan on staying here everytime I go to the cuse.
The hotel is close to downtown, the university, shopping. The architecture is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable. Much better than most hotels of this older vintage.
Clean Noisy. You could hear all the doors closing. The maid service knocked several times very early in the morning on nearby rooms and was very loud. Someone attempted to open our dor n then ran away despite do not disturb sign
The best deal you can get in Syracuse. Nothing
Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Cozy comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Convenient location. Parking was tight.
Will definately stay here next time we are in the area!
This hotel takes me back to Florida, the Windows shutters the design with the kitchenette. This hotel make you feel homey the room is clean,i give the staff an A,i have nothing bad to say about this hotel. Resturant in the lobby, location is the best cause you're right downtown. Today is a snowing day ,the car service driver for...
Great room, very friendly service!
We had a great stay and got a great last minute deal on Hotels.com, I would highly recommend the property even at full price. It was in downtown Syracuse, quick enter/exit from the highway but not noisy from the cars. The fitness room, snack bar area and drink availability was a plus! Wonderful fragrant shampoo and conditioner. My only complaint, the shower was less than ideal, low water...
My son and I were visiting college campuses in the area. The hotel was centrally located with easy access to campuses.
Really great hotel, thick walls, homey decor, full amenities, great complimentary breakfast, the works. The double shower heads ate nice, there was actually parking, and there was a convenient shop in the lobby. I would come back to Syracuse just to stay in this hotel
We spent our 37th anniversary at the Parkview. Accommodations are superior for the rate. Several excellent restaurants within 0.3 miles and are easily walkable. Syracuse State less than one-quarter of a mile away.
We had a great time. The hotel was very nice and the staff was wonderful. I would go back anytime. Very close to downtown and the carrier dome for Syracuse games. I would recommend the Parkview to anyone.
From the outside, this may look like an older hotel but the interior has been nicely redone. The bed was large and comfortable. The shower had dual heads. We had a corner room so we had a ton of shuttered windows. Room was spacious. Parking is included behind the hotel, accessible from a narrow driveway or from the side street....
great location, comfortable room and super friendly staff.
Overall a nice three week business stay. Some of the staff were very pleasant and nice to deal with. Other staff were lacking approachability and seemed more standoffish. Nice rooms except no microwave. Had to use communal microwave in lobby. Refrigerator in room set to freezing so my leftover meals were frozen by the next day. WiFi spotty at best so streaming apps like hbo, Netflix, etc. had...
I stayed just one night here while my teen was visiting Syracuse U. This is clearly an old fashioned hotel that has been updated. The bathroom still seems dated in an intangible way, but it was done over creatively and was quite clean. The bed was luxurious and I experienced what "crisp, clean" bed sheets are. I felt the room...
very nice hotel.
only remark is about the breakfast : not good, not bad and little poor choice
I stayed only one night but wish it would have been longer. I got a wonderful deal here and it really exceeded my expectations. The room had a kitchenette and was overall very large and comfortable. I liked the unique toiletries in the bathroom and the best part was they had soy milk available at breakfast! I went down expecting...
This hotel is a bit dark and dim, room and bathroom are small. They do serve breakfast in the morning. Not in walking distance to Syracuse University.
It was a place to stay for the night. The hotel was conveniently located to where the train station was and everything else.
We had a good time in Syracuse. Hotel was close enough to campus to walk to basketball game. There are a few restaurants very close and a few others up on the hill at the university.
Staffing makes a huge difference. Checked in with staff who was absolutely amazing and welcoming. Experienced the total opposite of that the next day.
Older property that has been recently and very nicely updated. I stayed in a double room; amenities included a standard coffee maker, iron, ironing board, blow dryer, mini refrigerator, and free fast wifi. A free breakfast bar is included which has hot choices as well as breads, pastries, cereals, yogurt etc. The hotel also offers free shuttle service that will...
Nice to stay somewhere with character. Appreciated the flexibility with late check-out to allow me to complete a scheduled webconference. Thanks!
This hotel is not so impressive from the outside and parking is in the rear, down a narrow alley, but the rooms are a nice surprise. We stayed here one night for a wedding and only had about an hour to get ready for the event after we arrived at the hotel. It was nice to have such a large...
10-15 minute walk to Syr campus
Hotel was above expectations! Would go again if we come back to the area!
Clean rooms, newly redone. Our bed was comfortable. It was a decent breakfast. really good value.
The hotel was nice. Good parking proximity.
I loved that they allowed my dog. it was a little further from campus but still walkable.
Wonderful staff who immediately welcome you upon arrival. Most helpful with directions to various places and restaurants. Accommodating to request for additional towels. Room itself clean but in need of updates showing wear and tear . Air condition unit loud and outdated . Staff was very willing to change room which we declined. Breakfast exceptional . What makes this place so special is the...
This hotel we a hidden gem! Upon arrival and check-in the gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating and pleasant to speak with. We had a king suite on the 6th floor. I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the room. Our room had a kitchenette which included a microwave, sink, and fridge with ample counter space. The appliances were spotless....not even a crumb!
The hotel had great accommodations and the staff was very friendly but if you are there to attend the awesome performances at The Stage- it is a perfect location! A walk away from the theater, close by to various dining locations, as well as easy access to the highway and Armory Square. Little perks that make a difference - small market to quickly pick up water, wine or snacks, breakfast...
This hotel we a hidden gem! We decided to take a weekend trip without the kids and found this hotel to perfect. To me this hotel is not a great fit for families traveling with younger children simply because there wouldn't be much for them to do.
Upon arrival and check-in the gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating...
I attended a conference at the Crowne Plaza just 2 doors down. After comparing notes with the folks who stayed at the Crowne I found I got a much better night sleep staying at the Parkview Hotel. The room was clean & quiet.
I have taken a fancy to boutique hotels lately and have visited them from Spain to NYC and many in between and of course with Syracuse included. They seem to be more personal, easy to navigate and have loads of details that add up to a comfortable and enjoyable stay. As an interior designer, I am very keen to things...
The hotel is beautiful. It was a classy place to stay. We stayed at the Parkview the night of our wedding before heading to the airport the next morning. We could not have been happier. The hotel has a lot of character. It has charm of an old building but everything is completely new and modern. Loved it!
Booked this hotel as an express deal from Priceline. From the outside this hotel looks a little dingy but inside was different story. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Historic type building that has been nicely updated. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Didn't use common area as was only there for 9 hrs. Worth the money paid as express deals would...
My wife and i stayed at this hotel a couple years ago because we were attending a concert at the Syracuse war memorial. We had a good experience then and remembered that so we stayed here again for another show. Luckily the hotel was only a 10 minute walk to the venue. The staff was nice and helpful in helping...
We stayed here on business. It was very old fashioned, but in a great way. Very pretty, clean and friendly. We loved the he parking and breakfast. Wished the bar had more dinner items at night. Had a nice glass of wine by the fire in a he lobby, another group was enjoying a football game on the other side...
What a wonderful gem of a hotel this was. Had been staying at another hotel in Syracuse on a bi monthly basis but it was closed due to a raze and rebuild.
The Parkview Hotel was delightful!. It was very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was more than polite and accommodating. The room was large, comfortable and clean....
This is a private hotel with its best years behind it. It's obvious the owners have tried to keep it contemporary but there are subtle flaws that belie their effort: holes in the walls, peeling and dated wallpaper, torn up carpets, mold around sinks. In addition, the staff seems to have missed the memo that they are in the hospitality...
stay was for a med school interview. hotel was spotless and superb. room was enormous, nice and quiet, breakfast was great, staff was too
great location for visiting Syracuse University. Close to shopping mall and restaurants. Free parking a big plus.
Clean, quiet, and friendly staff. Located in close proximity to Syracuse University and within walking distance to Syracuse Stage. This was my first trip to Syracuse and I will stay at the Parkview again.
First time in Syracuse visiting relatives. Hotel is central to university, complimentary parking was a plus. Lobby was dated, desk staff seemed indifferent. Room was fine, clean, modern looking bed and furniture. Best feature was the free breakfast, woman who cooked the food was great.
We had a comfortable stay in our double queen room. We really liked the shutter style window blinds. They be open to let natural light in, but still maintain our privacy (even if we happened to be facing another building). Our room was neat and clean.
Saturday morning we had a problem with our tub draining, so one of us was unable to shower. The tub filled up with water and wouldn't drain at...
We stayed one night in Syracuse at the Parkview Hotel, while enjoying the beautiful foliage that New York has to offer. Front desk folks were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was as expected. All in all, a great place for family, including our Golden Retriever - and we would definitely...
Visited the University, and wanted a hotel that was close. The hotel is not pretty on the outside, but it was very nice on the inside. We had a room on the top floor with 2 double beds, and it was very nice. The free breakfast was convenient, and they even provide a free shuttle to the school (even though...
Excellent accommodations, pet friendly, good location, good breakfast, friendly, professional staff. Close to so much in downtown that was important to us to see, Erie Canal Museum, location of former Marcellus company. We look forward to coming back!
We wenter to syracuse for an event at the oncenter convention center. The staff was good about getting the shuttle for us. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel had a very homey feel. Initially the hotel was a little off putting just by looking at it but once inside it was very pleasant. Free parking is a huge plus. The WiFi was not all that great but we didn't come for the wifi. We...
My daughter and I stayed overnight at this hotel as they had a group rate for an Irish dance competition. We checked in late and our room was ready.
The room was clean and spacious. Definitely a non-smoker room which was great.
We had friends staying in a room across the hall from us and they reported it was noisy...
this is a lovely hotel we thoroughly enjoyed our visit it was perfect it had ample parking a great breakfast.
Nice, older style boutique hotel, good shuttle service, great complimentary breakfast. The room was large and very clean. Pricey but because we were attending a syracuse football game, the location and shuttle saved us a ton of money
Love the Art Deco of the hotel, built in 1926. Must say, and they are up front about it, not wheelchair friendly. But everyone is friendly, accommodating, couldn't want for anything else. Okay, the bed does slant down a bit at the head. They probably just need to turn the mattresses. When I go to Syracuse I stay here.
We stayed at the Parkview for one night as we were passing through Syracuse. When I first entered the hotel I thought that I was stepping into a hotel that was once one of the classic hotels of a bygone era. It has a classic feel to it. I was surprised to learn that, although an older building, it was...
Bed was uncomfortable. Floor I was on was very noisy. Parking difficult to find although it was free. Nice free breakfast in the morning.
Spent a view days in the Syracuse area, golfing and shopping( Destiny USA), picked out this hotel, really great place, close to city Center , and 5 minute drive to Destiny.
The rooms are clean well appointed, the staff are professional and very pleasant.the complimentary breakfast is great with hot and cold items.
Overall, great place for a reasonable price
room is big and comfortable
We have stayed at both the Parkview hotel and the Crowne hotel next door the difference was day and night travelling up from the Poconos in PA we discovered the Crowne to be weirdly shaped, the rooms to be small and the bathrooms not so clean, it was the exact opposite at the Parkview larger rooms great breakfast included with the price, not so at the Crowne which was expensive to eat at and...
I find the staff very helpful and supportive. I required a lot of copying which they were very happy to help me with at all hours of the day and night.
I have a service dog and they provided me with a room on the ground floor which helps facilitate care of my dog - quick and easy in and out.
They provide a pretty nice, complementary breakfast which few hotels give, with long hours. I...
This hotel location is perfect you can walk anywhere from here. We went to a football game and the walk was 15 minutes with a pit stop! Close to downtown and great restaurants
The down side is the age of the hotel and detailed cleaning in our room. Staff are courtiand knowledgeable so that is a plus.
Stayed at Parkview for convenience and proximity to Crouse Hospital. Staff was great, when desk attendent found out we were there for a hospital stay she reduced the rate. Good customer service to point that out!
Right next door to the Crown Plaza. Easy, close walking distance to nice Resturants, shopping, Armory Square and Syracuse University. Desk staff very pleasant and accommodating. Free hot full breakfast every morning. Nice amenities in bathroom
Courteous service. Decent complimentary breakfast. Corner room had the most windows ever for a hotel room. Shower had no tub. Just a small lip on the floor to "prevent" water from spilling out. Water still came out and made the floor wet which was annoying when using the bathroom later. On site parking available which was nice. Not very close to restaurants or shops. You have to drive to them....
Very comfortable, very clean and staff very accommodating. The breakfast bar was fantastic.
Our stay was brief, but the staff was friendly, the room was pretty and very comfortable. We had a chance to use the lounge and the free continental breakfast. Both were comfortable and the breakfast was better than most.
The staff friendly hotel very clean and comfortable. I like the atmosphere and location.
Very Happy with the room we had and price as well was Great. Comfortable bed, nice size room and bathroom. Overall very Happy.
While the room itself was fine, the bathroom was a problem. The drain in the tub was broken, there are no skid resistant tapes in the tub. I slipped getting into the shower and banged my other leg on the tub. Received nice large bump on my shin. Also, if there were grab bars it would be helpful. I told the desk clerk about this and she said she would tell housekeeping. Hope you take of safety...
We were leaving our son at SU for his freshmen year, we did not find space available at Sheraton Syracuse, so we reserved Park View.
As you could imagine the University grounds was full of parents and cars, so parking was difficult to find, then this hotel location was confortable becasuse it is 10-12 blocks away from SU
I stayed here for a weekend of football and a college reunion. The hotel was a very easy walk to the SU campus, even in a light rain. There is also an excellent restaurant a two minute walk away. The hotel offered reasonable prices compared to other places, and included a very nice hot and cold buffet breakfast. My king...
Rude, short, and disinterested. Both ladies should be in a different line of work.
From the free decent wifi to the free parking this hotel is the best in town. The rooms were clean and the staff was eager to help. The hotels location was easy on off the highway and close to the campus
Room could of been cleaner and lack of amenities and quality in free deluxe breakfast for the price. Did not feel was worth the price that I paid and also would suggest arranging furniture to accessable outlets so can relax and charge our devices. Wouldn't been bad if were cheaper.
Very clean. Great price. Very nice. Loved the bar and love that it's close to downtown Syracuse! I High recommend it! It was quiet and the view I has was superb! The bed was really comfortable. I loved the breakfast bar in the am.
We had a kink studio, and our room was really big for the price. Had a little kitchenette. The bed was comfortable, the decor was nice and staff was very friendly. And the free breakfast buffet was a nice bonus :)
It's apparently an eco-friendly hotel.
Few negatives: found hair on the comforter, on the chair and on our towels....
This is our second stay here, and as the title states this hotel is good, but not great.
Positives first is that the front desk staff is outstanding and pleasant, and the shuttle drivers are great ambassadors for the property and the city.
Breakfast was better than average for hotel fare, and the staff did an excellent job of keeping...
When I made reservations at the Parkview Hotel I was expecting the same quality as my previous stays at the Skylar Hotel and The Genesee Grande Hotel. Unfortunately, it was not the case. We had to switch rooms because the air in the first was stale! The bathrooms were old and not updated as I would have expected, especially for...
We were there to see the baseball game.
We were moving our daughter into school and stayed here during that process. Very close to campus! They were so accommodating! They had no problem with me shipping I five large boxes with dorm stuff! Large, clean rooms. Definitely will stay there again!
Friendly, convenient parking, good breakfast
The ac was shorting out during the night. Otherwise it was a great boutique hotel
Hotel is centrally located and close to many activites. Parking is to the side and behind the building. A little difficult to get to - but adequate.
The rooms are very nice.
The Parkview is a wonderful and charming hotel. The accommodations were extremely clean and perfect location for walking the streets of Syracuse to great restaurants!
Thank you to a very pleasant staff.
Hotel is very nice, clean, quiet, excellent hot/cold continental breakfast. Scrambled eggs/biscuits and gravy, sausauge, one day, next day vegetable omelet, sausage, french toast, in addition to breads, pastry, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. In town two nights to visit LeMoyne College and the NY State Fair. Received very reasonable rate through Expedia. The immediate area is a little run down, but...
I stayed her for the weekend while attending some school at upstate hospital. From check in to check out the staff were so nice and helpful. The hotel was very nice and clean. I usually stay at the holiday in so it was a nice change to stay at a hotel like this. the rooms were decorated very nice. Was...
Walking distance to best restaurants and shopping.
Needed affordable hotel near Syracuse University. Park View had large clean room, great comp breakfast, bar, free parking and within walking distance to university. Would book again.
We were looking for accommodations in the Syracuse area for a simple overnight stop. This hotel fit the bill perfectly and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Stay was for a wedding. Parking is tricky.
Stayed 2 days while dropping daughter to medical school. While not as glamorous as a 4 star hotel it is quite chic and cozy.
My wife and I stayed at Parkview while we were biking the Erie Canal Trail. The staff was warm and inviting. They let us keep our bikes and gear locked safely in our room while we explored downtown Syracuse. Couldn't have asked for anything better. We would highly recommend staying at the Parkview.
I enjoed t clean hotel and the staff was personable.
We loved the hotel interior decor. Relative to other hotels we stayed, I will come back to this one. A couple of points, however; It was pretty warm the late afternoon we arrived, and the lobby, elevator area could have been several degrees cooler. The room outstanding, but (and a big BUT), upon entry to my room, I was confronted by a linen odor that I know from previous other hotel experiences...
Excellent experience staying overnight while doing college and back to school shopping. The Parkview has loads of character, which is what attracted us to try it out.
The rooms are cozy, clean and plenty roomy for the four of us. We got in fairly late (after 9PM), so it wasn't clear how busy it was - but the next morning the place was bustling - I make this point because everything was so...
The title pretty much says it all. Overall ahreat value.
I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the hotel considering how affordable it was. The breakfast was delicious and the room was very comfortable. The only "complaint" I would make was the location of the TV. It was placed all the way to one side of the wall, more in front of one bed. Maybe they could have placed it kitty corner for better viewing.
Nice hotel all around
The front desk employees were lovely, friendly, and helpful-nice breakfast, too!
This hotel was beautiful, and extremely comfortable, clean and had professional staff. The rooms were well appointed, beds delicious and pillows cradled your head. It was quiet and has a great lobby to sit and visit with business partners or read a book. The hotel rooms overlook the park and have a great sunny exposure. The complimentary breakfast was awesome and breakfast room was clean and...
Lovely hotel. Rooms were nicely appointed and comfortable and bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was good, staff was friendly and parking and internet were free. Perfect hotel for those who are exploring surrounding areas and looking for a nice place to rest at night.
Nice room with comfortable beds. Best night sleep I had in months.
Totally unexpected (in a good way). Charming little boutique hotel with very helpful staff, located in a great area. You can literally park your car and either walk or access the hotel's complimentary shuttle.
Very noisy in hallway. Blinds allow a lot of light in. Bed and pillows were tremendous.
We stayed here after the Krockathon event over at the NYS Fairgrounds - which were just over 5 miles away. Reasonable rate - that plus our tickets were cheaper than another hotel's "package deal"!! The Parkview is an older building but has been renovated within the last 5 years or so - plenty of plugs for recharging, nice tile work in the bathroom, a flat screen tv, and very clean. Close to the...
I Truly Enjoyed my stay, I would definitely stay again, Especially at the Awesome Price I got the Room for.
The Parkview hotel is fairly well appointed in the lobby, breakfast/bar area. There was plenty of parking located behind the hotel.
My room on the sixth floor on the south side of the hotel was satisfactorily appointed.
There were two things with regard to room comfort that affected my rating. First, as others have noted, the in-window air conditioning unit was very loud. Second, the windows...
Upon arrival, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us as we are both disabled. First they moved use into a room that was close to the rear entrance where the handicapped parking was and the room was a handicap room. When we found several things wrong with the room they moved us across the hall to the other handicap room. The 1 thing they could not fix was the ramp going to the back...
Hotel was clean and cozy! I was very surprised on everything! Free breakfast was more than I expected! That was nice! I will stay here again!
We love this hotel! We try to stay here every time we are in Syracuse.
We usually get the king suite and it's excellent. My only issue this time was we got a standard room and it was a poorly designed shower.. It leaked all over the floor as the lip was short and so was the curtain. It really didn't impact our stay though and we will be back again!
Stayed here for a small family reunion. Rooms were nice, hotel was quiet and service was very good. enjoyed the stay and would come here again.
Passed by the city and lived in this wonderful hotel. From classic decorations to very clean and spacious room, everything is impressive. Price is attractive as well.
came for a university tour, very comfortable location wise and quite a decent hotel for the price.
We stayed there for 2 nights on our way to Niagara Falls from Manhattan. Although Syracuse has literally nothing to see, it was a good and relaxing experience to stay at Parkview...One more thing, the breakfast was delicious...
Worked well for an overnight on a family road trip. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms, and a decent breakfast. Winter Kale Salad at the Strong Hearts Cafe next door was excellent.
This was an excellent value for our money. The hotel is clean, safe, comfortable, well-equipped, and very pleasant. There is free parking in the back, which is always appreciated. No complaints!
My friend and I are from Central PA and DC areas. We chose the Parkview because of good reviews, price was more reasonable than the Finger Lakes at this time of year, it was close to 81, and was 1 hour or less to all the things we were interested in... Finger Lakes region, restaurants, spas, little day trips around Central NY, etc. We stayed for 4 nights. Housekeeping did a great job with fresh...
This hotel was wonderful. It was
Conveniently located near the highway and many dining options. The facilities were very clean and very spacious. Very comfortable place to stay.
The stay was fine. I have some feedback about housekeeping and recommend that you get tags for the doors that say do not disturb or housekeeping please. Our housekeeping person woke us up at 8:30 by knocking on the door, asked when we were leaving, when I didn't know she seemed annoyed and perturbed as if I was inconveniencing her (check out was at 12). Again she came back at 11:00 wanting to...
I stayed at the Parkview for 3 days and I really liked it. All of the people working there were very helpful. Also the rooms are very clean and their breakfasts are lovely! Plus, the prices are average)
I live the nostalgia of this hotel. I feel like I have stepped back in time but with modern day amenities.
Very nice hotel, located just off the highway. Large rooms with comfy beds. Clean and in good condition.
Free Wifi, free parking, and complimentary breakfast.
Only (potential) problem is the five or so steps from the front desk and up to the lobby level. But I was told that there was a way around this, by entering from a side or back entrance.
We stayed only a single night, so my review is not...
Great clean comfortable room.
Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Just an overnight but room was lovely, comfy bed, beautiful old fashioned bathroom. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful.
Rooms are sizeable, clean and the hotel is well located. Staff weren't familiar with local attractions, which was disappointing.
Nice hotel in an historic old building. Clean room, comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Ample free parking.
Wonderful service! Clean, comfortable and updated rooms. Highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Syracuse!
I was glad to have the breakfast. The free off-street parking was terrific. The location was close to the university. The bedding was the modern type, where u don't share a ratty blanket with all the prior guests. The soaps were all organic \n\nIt could stand an update. But in good condition.
Te Hotel was great, clean, easy and accomodating\n\nnothing
Strong Hearts shakes forever! Really, the vegan shakes are so off the charts you forget that no animals were involved in their making. There are tons of...
I teetered between three and four stars. But settled on three. I love a good vegan cafe! And I love the idea of vegan comfort food, milkshakes and French...

The staff was very pleasant. There was a shuttle for nearby locations.\n\nThe check out was not automatic.\n\nIt was a clean and large room. The staff is very pleasant. The location is a bit dreary at night, but lovely during the day.
My dog loved the hotel. Staff was kind and put us on first floor near door to make it easier to get in and out with fido. Breakfast Burritos were awesome! Good parking behind hotel.\n\nNice lounge area with gas fireplace. There was a bar, too.
Loved my room! Liked the layout. Funky shutters in windows instead of curtains. Morning sun was lovely\n\nBathroom was nice and large but hey, no place to put stuff. A stool or something would have been handy.\n\nHotel staff were all very pleasant and accommodating.
Beautiful room! Very quiet surroundings.\n\nThere needs to be a small table or surface in the bathrooms. Bed/mattress was not super comfortable, but nice
Free hot breakfast, retro style hotel\n\nOnly one elevator working, is the second elevator only for decoration?
It was a older hotel but very comfortable\n\nToilet was small\n\nGreat little breakfast, smoke free, nice and clean
Room was bright, clean and beautifully decorated. Great lobby area. Located close to every thing. Great staff.\n\nNothing bad to say. Loved it!\n\nGreat place at a great price.
The location and the fact that it's a very nicely restored old hotel.\n\nThe fact that there's only one operating elevator\n\nIt's close to an area that has some really great restaurants
I stopped here for dinner with my husband while we were on our road trip to Rochester for a wedding. The food here is amazing! I had the Portobello...
Everything about this hotel was great. Definitely worth the price and would stay there again without hesitation.
location and breakfast. What a treat!\n\nParking was difficult
It was close to Syracuse University and the room was relatively large.\n\nThe windows didn't open and the AC unit had a funny smell when it started. We were told it was state law that the windows could not open and the smell disipated.\n\nIt is a renovated older building, so the ceilings were high and the rooms were relatively sound proof. Our room was next to the elevator, but we were not...
Location. Shuttle Almost stole the bed and bedding. Never slept so well. Found on line. First time. Cannot wait to return. Dapper. Devon hot! Day trip to Auburn. Returned car to airport shuttle driver waited for us and took us to train station.\n\nNo no no\n\nService in restaurant excellent. Husband loved chilli. I did too! I never eat chilli
My room was spacious and immaculately clean. Very comfortable.\n\nThis hotel was such a pleasant surprise. It's an older hotel but it is beautiful. My room was very large and comfortable. The bathroom was huge and spotlessly clean. The complimentary breakfast was nothing special but definitely adequate. I was happy with everything the hotel had to offer.
Clean nice property. Great staff. Wonderfull breakfast. Close to campus
Nice, very clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Better hotel experience than sister hotel Genessee Grande. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Professional & courteous staff, modern & clean rooms, convenient location
The room was beautiful. It is an older building but the upgrades inside the hotel are wonderful.\n\nN/A
Everything!! What a great hotel - we were very pleased and so was our daughter who visited us. She is frequently asked for hotel suggestions for visitors to Syracuse - she said she will definitely mention this hotel.\n\nGreat hotel - no complaints.\n\nExcellent location in downtown Syracuse. Convenient to restaurants and to the University. Room was lovely and very well-equipped.
Beautifully appointed room, very clean, friendly helpful staff. And the breakfast was very good! Will stay here again.
Very courteous, attentive staff. 24-hour mini-market in the lobby - so convenient and nicely stocked.\n\nNo.\n\nHad a delay of several hours between end of my business and my flight back to New York. The staff made me feel at home and saw to my comfort until it was finally time to go. The room was more than sufficient, given the price and the location.
I loved it all! The room exceeded my expectations and the breakfast was great.\n\nAlley to the parking lot was a little tight and made me nervous, but not bad.\n\nGreat and easy location, nice staff, beautiful rooms!
It was a nice, older hotel.\n\nOur ac died during the night.
Rooms were gorgeous\n\nnope\n\nIt looks old and "shady" from the outside but inside it has been gutted and is beautiful.
The room was very nice and the complimentary breakfast was very good.\n\nCity construction going on currently around the area\n\nStaff was courteous and room was very nice. Quick check-in and parking provided free in the back lot of the hotel.
The staff was amazing. The breakfast was nice too\n\nThe location had a lot of construction, the outside of the hotel looked old but the inside was clean and pretty, and no microwave in the rooms. The bar food was not good, he literally microwaved it right on front of us\n\nI would suggest it to anyone. Aside from construction it is in a convenient location, the rooms are clean and pretty, the...
Lots of character and warmth. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Environmentally Safe products and practices.\n\nATM at basement required a $3.00 fee for every withdrawal, I had to do two transactions and was only able to withdraw $60.00. First transaction allowed me to get $40.00 and second transaction only $20.00.\n\nWonderful staff and service. Breakfast was tasty and with lots of...
Gracious staff, great breakfast, loved having the shuttle service the driver was wonderful, room clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay at the Parkview again we were visiting the college the location is excellent.\n\nNothing
The hotel room was very spacious and clean. The continental breakfast was good. There is free off street parking as well as free wifi.\n\nI would have preferred 2 queens instead of 2 double beds...the room was certainly large enough for it.\n\nA very nice hotel. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Very satisfied.\n\nOld but in decent condition. Wasn't disappointed at all.
the hotel was very nice, staff was great and the shuttle was such a time and money saver.\n\nlack of amenities within a few blocks, drugstore, park, etc... Still a great hotel.\n\nStaff was great, very helpful.
Love the large rooms and spacious bathrooms. The decor is VERY nice and very comfortable beds !!\n\nNo. Great place !!\n\nGreat staff ! The young lady at the front..Sheneika... remembered me from last year. That was very impressive ! She did a great job getting me checked in.
Room was very clean and nice. Amenities were good and included breakfast was very good with lots of choices. A pleasant surprise for a free breakfast.\n\nWindow air conditioner was a little loud.\n\nHotel was conveniently located and with free parking, Internet and breakfast was a great deal for a clean room. Room was a bit smaller than expected but had a desk closet and chair. We would...
Intimate setting. Not a chain and not too big.\n\nNo\n\nLove availability of refrigerator. Nice to have a hot breakfast which is not as common for most hotels. Hotel provided free parking behind the hotel. There was more than enough parking spots.
Not close to a lot of eateries in walking distance.
The room was so fresh, beautifully decorated, and spacious. Breakfast was fantastic.\n\nJust the city location made me feel uneasy about parking or leaving anything in the car.\n\nWe enjoyed it thouroughly.
Continental breakfast\n\nFire alarm going off one a.m.\n\nQuaint, nice staff, decent rooms and pretty clean.
It is close to I81 so easy to get to and leave. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good and having Soy milk a plus!
Great hotel, great location, great service!
Very clean hotel and friendly staff, never had any problems and the rooms are always very clean. Stayed 3 times. Nice place
The free shuttle bus that takes you anywhere you desire within the downtown area and will pick you up again. \n\nJust the fact it wasn't very convenient to walk up to Armory Square but the fact there is a free shuttle negates this issue. \n\nStaff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.
More of a boutique feel than most commercial hotels. Beautifully appointment room with a very relaxing feel.\n\nNo\n\nI've stayed here a number of times over the past few years and am always impressed with the property and professional treatment from the staff.
Staff is polite\n\nSO NOISEY! Walls must be made of paper! My room was the furthest from the elevator possible (which is not very) and yet - I could hear (and was frustrated) by folks chatting at the elevator - and they weren't yelling! Adjacent rooms - could hear it all\n\nCute from the exterior - very mediocre interiors - not a peaceful place - situated across from a sketchy park in the...
Worst mattresses I have ever slept on. So soft that you fell off the edges and sank in the middle
Clean room with a comfortable bed. Free parking was nice.
The hotel was very nice and our room was nicely decorated. It is a boutique type hotel, not very big but very nice. Great hot breakfast included. Ample parking.\n\nHotel was over booked and we did not get a room with two beds initially, there are three in our family. I called ahead to be sure we would be accommodated. The hotel did eventually accommodate our needs and the front desk person was...
proximity to armory and university; shuttle use and accessibility\n\nTV is relatively small\n\nVery good experience.
The rooms were decorated very nicely and very clean -- thats the most important thing to me as I am always nervous about bed bugs- I had no problem hopping into this bed for a good night sleep - the location is a short 10 min walk from Syracuse university\n\nThe price was not bad p--- with tax -- but then again my work paid for it - I wouldve probably looked for a better price if I was footing...
We loved the room and the bar/breakfast room! The food was very good at the breakfast
The hotel is in a great location if you are visiting Syracuse U, which I was. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are nice and clean. I have stayed at the Parkview a few times before and each time no problems. Breakfast is complimentary.\n\nNothing about the hotel I did not like but it would be great if there was a pool.\n\nThis hotel is a very good value and a very comfortable place to...
quaint, clean, good braekfast, friendly service.\n\nshower spray could be stronger\n\nwould go back.
Location was good for University visits or access to highway. Rooms are large, beds ok. Staff is friendly/accommodating. Free parking/breakfast. Breakfast offerings were fine.\n\nParking secluded, dark, small spaces...Can be tricky to maneuver around building. No roll away or cots offered (which surprised me). Neighborhood looked iffy to take a morning/evening walk. Thin walls, noisy...
The room itself was great - big comfy bed, mini kitchen which included a toaster, microwave, fridge, pots and pans, and utensils. The double head shower was also very clean. They have a shuttle service that picks you up and takes you places within a 2mile radius which is great except it takes 30 min to come get you and then sometimes if it already has passengers it takes you all the way out to...
My room was bright and cheery. The bathroom needed to have some counter space.
Park View Hotel is easy access off 81. It is warm and cozy colonel style with a morden update. Clean quiet comfortable for a overnight stay or two, the front desk was very accommodating. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise...a lil more than continental. The lobby has a see through fireplace, comfortable!
The staff were all very friendly and helpful giving insight on where to eat and what to see. Downtown, the university and Destiny USA are all about 5 mins away by car! The breakfast buffet was great...the coffee was actually good! We spent the day at Destiny USA and had a great time exploring downtown and walking through the campus. We had a fantastic meal at Alto Cinco and drinks at the bar...
Enjoyed the Reuben, quesadilla, and chocolate cupcake. But the service is really slow. If you go for lunch make sure you have an hour. Next time will try after the lunch rush.
We had a suite and it was excellent. Very clean and comfortable. Really nice bar with excellent food. Very conveinent mini market in the hotel. Would definately stay there again while in Syracuse!
Comfortable place to stay. Enjoy my stay.Nice Hotel.
Great, even for non-vegans. I like Strong Hearts's vegan chicken salad sandwich more than I like regular chicken salad sandwiches. They're tasty and hearty, yet not overbearing. Milkshakes are also delicious.
I was incredibly happy with my stay. I was anticipating one of the "pet" rooms on the first floor because of the online "deal" but I had a great room on one of the upper floors. Quiet and nice- fridge/coffee maker etc. Downtown location is nice. Convemiet parking. Good food close by. Very happy!!!
I was not very impressed. First they did not have my reservations. I proceeded to show them my confirmation and sent it directly the evening. In the morning, they still not have my reservations. Second the bathroom toilet was not very clean. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The TV did not work well. The channel kept cutting out when i was watching shows. NBC especially.Thats it.
A friendly and helpful staff. An old building with a lot of charm that has been remodeled and well kept. Located on a busy street, parking is in the back and gained by an aileyway at buildngs side. Wheel chair entry by back door, locked. Nice little coffee, snack shop on the main floor. Terrible marshmellow treats. Room was clean with newer mini frig, coffee maker, microwave. Bed was very...
It's a good combination of affordability and comfort. Bedroom was large and clean. Beds were good. Staff was friendly. Only downside was I could hear traffic from the street.
Strong Hearts is vegan owned and is active in the cruelty-free community and lifestyle. Eating at places like this is not only good for you and the animals but for the planet and the greater cause of it all. It is nice to support those who ‘get it’ if you know what I mean ;)
Booked an executive king room. Called before booking and was told there would be a pullout couch. Room did not have a couch at all. Needed another bed so they gave us a room with two doubles, which actually was bigger. Only difference from the king executive is a microwave, even verified this with the staff. Staff was great and the location was walking distance from carrier dome and a few great...
Ho Hum. My wife and I enjoy vegan and vegetarian food and whenever we travel we try to make a point of sampling at least one local vegan restaurant. The atmosphere here was great and we were really hopeful that we had hit on a hidden gem. Our first hurdle was the 30+ minute wait for a salad and a sandwich. OK... I ordered the mediterranean salad, which was a basic green salad with a few olives...
The hotel is very good! I take shuttle bus to downtown, compus..everyday! All the staffs are kind enough!!
Hotel room was Clean, but very old, built in 1926. Elevator was broken, had to walk the stairs. TV selections were very limited, like basic cable. The Cafe was very small & limited selection. No resturants within walking disctance.
Very nice hotel, but location was away from the downtown area which required getting into a car and driving. Serious elevator problems causing us to have to walk up six flights of stairs several times.
I was treated with courtesy by the staff from beginning to the end. We enjoyed our stay and would return based on the price. We still will look for the best deal.
I reserved the hotel online, but when we arrived there, at 1 am, they told us that the room was already gone. But I already paid the room in advance, so I guess they were hoping that we will not show up and gave the room to someone else.So in the middle of the night they send us to a partner hotel and gave us a ok room there. But it was really anoying having to move again so late when one is...
The Parkview is in a very good location only eight blocks or so from Armory Square, an easy fifteen minute walk or a very short drive. Parking is easy in the back of the building, and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely stay again!
The hotel was pleasant enough - an older building that must've been renovated somewhat recently 9the last ten years?). The room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. My biggest complaint was that the elevator was out for the majority of the time and they put us on the 6th floor. When I checked out (after hauling luggage down six flights of stairs) this issue wasn't addressed at all - I...
Good location, clean ,however, it is hard to park. And has no free wifi.
Room is clean, comfortable & spacious. Hotel has a nice Art Deco charm. Cafe is nice quality. It's location to campus is perfect and it's a great value! Hope it's available for every visit over the next few years.
Great Taste and Atmosphere. I had a wonderful "chicken salad" sandwich and a unbelievablly tasty chocolate milkshake (they have a wide assortment). The meal came in around $11.00 and I just loved the place. Healthy food, a great atmosphere and I will definitely go there again.
Good location but the rooms are old. Heater doesn't work properly -- blasts hot then cold no matter what temperature you set. Would probably choose a different hotel next visit.
The Parkview was in a great location to the university and the staff was really friendly. The room was big and comfortable. We did have a hard time stabilizing the temperature in the room though...no thermostat.
Nice room; nice staff. Restaurant downstairs is not full service, does not deliver to room, only open till 9pm.
The desk service was friendly and helpful. I ate breakfast in the morning at the cafe adjoining the hotel. The egg sandwich tasted good and was priced reasonably. The room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find a kitchenette with dishes and a range top, as well as a cushioned dining set. I stayed in the executive, king-size bedroom. What I loved most...
Hotel was very comfortable and since we went to Syr for SU Musical Theater audition it was great to be just one block from the theater.
I stayed at the Parkview Hotel the night of December 14th. In the morning as I was preparing to check out, I saw a bedbug on the comforter of my bed. I caught the bug in a sandwich bag and called housekeeping. A maid was sent to the room to collect the bug and do whatever they do in this situation. The manager gave me a discount on the room (half price). The next day, the bites appeared all...
Hotel was a great and offered a free shuttle service to Armory Square. Room was very large and had nice decor.
Pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong: - My room was next to the elevator, which was incredibly loud, and went up and down/opened and closed the doors though no one was riding it. I couldn't sleep a wink. - When I asked to change rooms, I was accomodated, but put next to a group of people partying in the next room until late at night. - The air conditioning in BOTH rooms was...
The hotel seems nice. We were awoken at 8:45 a.m. on a Sunday morning by a cleaning person. Worse than that, we woke up to find a bedbug on our comforter that had gorged itself on blood all night. When it was killed, it was filled with the blood of either me or my wife (perhaps both).
I was helpling my daughter move after graduation. I stayed one night an was looking forward to sleep for a couple hours in the morning but was awaked with the sound of the vacuum cleaner in the corridor. But after that the hotel had been renovated and is beautiful, the staff super friendly.
Short drive to University , clean room , fast check-in/checkout.reasonable rate.
The limited food service is excellent and a first class restaurant is available in the hotel next door. The hotel has been tastefully renovated and has ample free parking and a very obliging staff.
I wanted a hotel that was close to Syracuse University but wasn't too expensive and this hotel worked out perfectly. The room was quite big and had a nice flat panel TV. The refrigerator was also handy. I only wish the room had queen size beds instead of full size. There was plenty of room for the bigger beds. I would still stay here again, though.
Hotel was in a great location in Syracuse. Rooms were spacious, clean and new.
The staff here was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean, nice art deco tiles in the bathroom. The best part was the cafe off the lobby. They actually served decent food (nice pastries, veggie sandwiches, salads, specialty coffees) for not outrageous prices and the staff there was also very friendly.[...]it was a lovely place to stay. There's even a vegan cafe two doors away!...
I make it a point to stay at the Parkview Hotel every time I am in Syracuse for business. I really love how clean, and beautiful the rooms are. And for the price it can not be beat. The location is right near the highway and very close to some wonderful restaurants. The in house cafe is also quite good for those who do not want to venture out- but it closes a bit on the early side. I look...
After attending Syracuse University for undergrad, I knew the Parkview existed but I hadn't really heard much about it. I recently visited campus for a weekend and was delighted to find the Parkview advertised for significantly lower rates than then other downtown and campus area hotels. The service was great and the location of the hotel is very convenient (pretty much equal distance between...
Hotel was nice, located a few blocks away from campus. Stayed one night. I would stay there again.
this hotel was great. the staff was attentive and friendly, there was a free shuttle that took us downtown, and the rooms were large, modern, and clean.
Very impressed by how clean and new the rooms were. I think they've been remodeled recently. The room was large enough and very roomy in its organization. It's located very close to the highway, which was nice for us since we had to catch a flight the next morning. Even though it's close to a major road, it was very quiet and peaceful. Excellent place to stay.
Great location close to downtown Syracuse and Syracuse University. Spacious rooms with kitchenette updated bathrooms and very quiet. The hotel is Art Deco style throughout, and gives a feel from an era gone by. The coffee shop is excellent.
We discovered this hotel as we were looking for a hotel within walking distance of Syracuse Stage and the Syracuse Drama Department Theatre. This fit the bill. Rooms are comfortable, a good size and quiet. The bathrooms could use more counter space, but that is the least of my worries. Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. We have enjoyed the hotel each time we have stayed.
i was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel!!!! The towels and linen were very clean and i enjoyed the comfort of your beautiful king size beds!
Walking distance to university and hospital, quiet, clean, wireless in all rooms, great cafe on premises
The lady at check inn didnt seem all that nice, but other than that the hotel was really nice. elevators shut down at night so if i had to get anything from the car it was 5 flights of stairs up and down, which wasnt bad for me. finding food was a little difficult, but its all located on rt 5. although the hotel dining was decent.
The hotel is cool, just because it is a updated art deco building. There is parking right out back and access through doors with the hotel keys. The rooms are really nice, and a steal for the price. The neighborhood is alright, close to the University and around a lot of businesses so it becomes a ghost town after 5:00. Very safe though.
Very nice and clean place. Staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms are very spacious and well equiped - though the flat TV-screen is a bit small for the large room. The only point I could criticize is the poor sound insulation of the sewer pipe from upper floors which ran through the room.
Everything was spotless and the staff very nice and efficient. Our only problem was that the blanket and linen for the kingsized bed was not kingsized, so they pulled out and exposed the mattress, an unsanitary situation.
Parkview was a suprise for the price. Very friendly staff in a beautiful old bulding restored in great taste. The location is great for downtown stays with easy acsess to the hi-ways.
hotel is great for no frills but real nice stay. bathrooms are REAL nice. rooms are large. Staff is courteous. Parking is free! price is right (always could be lower!).
The Perfect Hotel for Syracuse University Visits. Good Location, Nice clean and refurnished Rooms. Reasonable rates and good parking. Thanks for a nice stay once again.
...when we booked the room they advertised free breakfast with the room. When we arrived they no longer offered breakfast with the room and would not honor what their add said at the time of booking. I found this very annoying. The hotel was otherwise nice but just the lack of curtesy was very much a put off.
