The Parkview is my hotel of choice in Syracuse.

The hotel is close to downtown, the university, shopping. The architecture is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable. Much better than most hotels of this older vintage.

Noisy. You could hear all the doors closing. The maid service knocked several times very early in the morning on nearby rooms and was very loud. Someone attempted to open our dor n then ran away despite do not disturb sign

We spent our 37th anniversary at the Parkview. Accommodations are superior for the rate. Several excellent restaurants within 0.3 miles and are easily walkable. Syracuse State less than one-quarter of a mile away.

The hotel had great accommodations and the staff was very friendly but if you are there to attend the awesome performances at The Stage- it is a perfect location! Great Art Deco Hotel

Average Rating

Love the Art Deco of the hotel, built in 1926. Must say, and they are up front about it, not wheelchair friendly. But everyone is friendly, accommodating, couldn't want for anything else. Okay, the bed does slant down a bit at the head. They probably just need to turn the mattresses. When I go to Syracuse I stay here.

Wet bathroom floor

Courteous service. Decent complimentary breakfast. Corner room had the most windows ever for a hotel room. Shower had no tub. Just a small lip on the floor to "prevent" water from spilling out. Water still came out and made the floor wet which was annoying when using the bathroom later. On site parking available which was nice. Not very close to restaurants or shops. You have to drive to them....

Unsafe bathtub.

While the room itself was fine, the bathroom was a problem. The drain in the tub was broken, there are no skid resistant tapes in the tub. I slipped getting into the shower and banged my other leg on the tub. Received nice large bump on my shin. Also, if there were grab bars it would be helpful. Parkview Hotel: an alternative to box hotels!

Average Rating

We loved the hotel interior decor. Relative to other hotels we stayed, I will come back to this one. A couple of points, however; It was pretty warm the late afternoon we arrived, and the lobby, elevator area could have been several degrees cooler. The atmosphere here was great and we were really hopeful that we had hit on a hidden gem. Our first hurdle was the 30+ minute wait for a salad and a sandwich. OK... I ordered the mediterranean salad, which was a basic green salad with a few olives...

Hotel room was Clean, but very old, built in 1926. Elevator was broken, had to walk the stairs. TV selections were very limited, like basic cable. The Cafe was very small & limited selection. No resturants within walking disctance.

Great hotel, cannot walk to downtown

Very nice hotel, but location was away from the downtown area which required getting into a car and driving. Serious elevator problems causing us to have to walk up six flights of stairs several times.

I reserved the hotel online, but when we arrived there, at 1 am, they told us that the room was already gone. But I already paid the room in advance, so I guess they were hoping that we will not show up and gave the room to someone else.So in the middle of the night they send us to a partner hotel and gave us a ok room there. But it was really anoying having to move again so late when one is...

The Parkview is in a very good location only eight blocks or so from Armory Square, an easy fifteen minute walk or a very short drive. Parking is easy in the back of the building, and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely stay again!

Good for short stay - expect to use the stairs

The hotel was pleasant enough - an older building that must've been renovated somewhat recently 9the last ten years?). The room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. My biggest complaint was that the elevator was out for the majority of the time and they put us on the 6th floor. When I checked out (after hauling luggage down six flights of stairs) this issue wasn't addressed at all - I...

Room is clean, comfortable & spacious. Hotel has a nice Art Deco charm. Cafe is nice quality. It's location to campus is perfect and it's a great value! Hope it's available for every visit over the next few years.

Great Taste and Atmosphere. I had a wonderful "chicken salad" sandwich and a unbelievablly tasty chocolate milkshake (they have a wide assortment). The meal came in around $11.00 and I just loved the place. Healthy food, a great atmosphere and I will definitely go there again.

Good location but the rooms are old. Heater doesn't work properly -- blasts hot then cold no matter what temperature you set. Would probably choose a different hotel next visit.

The desk service was friendly and helpful. I ate breakfast in the morning at the cafe adjoining the hotel. The egg sandwich tasted good and was priced reasonably. The room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find a kitchenette with dishes and a range top, as well as a cushioned dining set. I stayed in the executive, king-size bedroom. What I loved most...

Hotel was very comfortable and since we went to Syr for SU Musical Theater audition it was great to be just one block from the theater.

I stayed at the Parkview Hotel the night of December 14th. In the morning as I was preparing to check out, I saw a bedbug on the comforter of my bed. I caught the bug in a sandwich bag and called housekeeping. A maid was sent to the room to collect the bug and do whatever they do in this situation. The manager gave me a discount on the room (half price). The next day, the bites appeared all...

Pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong: - My room was next to the elevator, which was incredibly loud, and went up and down/opened and closed the doors though no one was riding it. I couldn't sleep a wink. - When I asked to change rooms, I was accomodated, but put next to a group of people partying in the next room until late at night. - The air conditioning in BOTH rooms was...

Parkview in Syracuse - Hello Bedbugs

The hotel seems nice. We were awoken at 8:45 a.m. on a Sunday morning by a cleaning person. Worse than that, we woke up to find a bedbug on our comforter that had gorged itself on blood all night. When it was killed, it was filled with the blood of either me or my wife (perhaps both).

I wanted a hotel that was close to Syracuse University but wasn't too expensive and this hotel worked out perfectly. The room was quite big and had a nice flat panel TV. The refrigerator was also handy. I only wish the room had queen size beds instead of full size. There was plenty of room for the bigger beds. I would still stay here again, though.

The staff here was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean, nice art deco tiles in the bathroom. The best part was the cafe off the lobby. They actually served decent food (nice pastries, veggie sandwiches, salads, specialty coffees) for not outrageous prices and the staff there was also very friendly.[...]it was a lovely place to stay. There's even a vegan cafe two doors away!...

I make it a point to stay at the Parkview Hotel every time I am in Syracuse for business. I really love how clean, and beautiful the rooms are. And for the price it can not be beat. Very impressed by how clean and new the rooms were. I think they've been remodeled recently. The room was large enough and very roomy in its organization. It's located very close to the highway, which was nice for us since we had to catch a flight the next morning. Even though it's close to a major road, it was very quiet and peaceful. Excellent place to stay.

We discovered this hotel as we were looking for a hotel within walking distance of Syracuse Stage and the Syracuse Drama Department Theatre. This fit the bill. Rooms are comfortable, a good size and quiet. The bathrooms could use more counter space, but that is the least of my worries. Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. We have enjoyed the hotel each time we have stayed.

The lady at check inn didnt seem all that nice, but other than that the hotel was really nice. elevators shut down at night so if i had to get anything from the car it was 5 flights of stairs up and down, which wasnt bad for me. finding food was a little difficult, but its all located on rt 5. although the hotel dining was decent.

The hotel is cool, just because it is a updated art deco building. There is parking right out back and access through doors with the hotel keys. The rooms are really nice, and a steal for the price. The neighborhood is alright, close to the University and around a lot of businesses so it becomes a ghost town after 5:00. Very safe though.

Nice and clean

Very nice and clean place. Staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms are very spacious and well equiped - though the flat TV-screen is a bit small for the large room. The only point I could criticize is the poor sound insulation of the sewer pipe from upper floors which ran through the room.

...when we booked the room they advertised free breakfast with the room. When we arrived they no longer offered breakfast with the room and would not honor what their add said at the time of booking. I found this very annoying. The hotel was otherwise nice but just the lack of curtesy was very much a put off.
