Pizza Week on What's To Eat LA: North End Pizzeria

brought to you by

whatstoeatla

Finishing off this pizza week on What's To Eat LA, we have North End Pizzeria (their website is down but the menu link is below). This spot is an interesting entry on to my list because it operates like a mega chain (in the good kind of way) and yet it isn't...though it has the makings to be such one day. I would classify this place as a place your office would order when they want to treat the ... more

Try their jalepeno and pineapple pizza...mmmmm!!!!! My husband had fresh garlic put on his, which was really great at the time, but after dinner, the smell and taste in his mouth became too overwhelming. So if you get the garlic, have them put a small amount!

Pros

+ Pizza! Salad!

Cons

- Garlic Bread with Cheese...has no garlic!

think crust pizza, mmmmmmmnnn!

Great local pizza delivery! They also have a small dining room for eating in. Their pizza in thin crust and very good, their meatballs are great and so is their eggplant parm. I don't love their pastas but you can't go wrong with the pizza or the sandwiches! If you like think crust you will love North End! I love their sauce so I always get an extra side to dip! Oh and their caesar is really good ... more

We've been ordering from North End for over a year now, and I've always raved about how great it is. Lately, though, it's really been going downhill. Delivery is slow, and considering we don't live far from the location, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a hot pizza every once in awhile. It also seems like everytime we order anything extra (a salad or soda), the deliveryman forgets and has ... more

As a recently transplanted New Yorker, all I heard about LA is that I won't find good pizza. WRONG! I love the pizza at North End -- it reminds me of home. We always order a thin and crispy pizza and it always comes just that way!

Pros

+ Good pizza, casual

Cons

- Takes a long time to

Yummy!

Great Pizza and Salads. It is a bring your own beer and wine place....they have decent outdoor seating. It's a little cramped inside. Delivery guiys are generally friendly and prompt. Overall a very good experience. Get garlic as a topping on the Pizza...soooooo good!

Pros

+ Tasty Food, Decent Service

Mmmmm, I'm so excited there's one in Burbank too! Reminded me of pizza I would find in Boston's North End. Thin crust that was just crispy enough and chewy enough with a sauce that makes my mouth water. We ate in and brought it home and each time it was great! Check it out.

Pros

+ Great Crust

Good pizza

Very pleased with this pizza, not the best I've ever had, but one of the best I've tried in LA thus far. We had this delivered, so it was not exactly piping hot but still warm enough. Employees very friendly. Pizza sauce is slightly tangy, and they put just the right amount of herbs and seasonings on the pizza. Crust not to thick, not too thin, though it is more on the thin side. I would order ... more

Simple reason to run to this pizza: Side by with Mulberry Street, this is about the only truly authentic New York Old School Style pizza you can get in Los Angeles. The beechin thin crust type you can fold over ( which is done to keep from burning your mouth if the topping is still real hot ). Where it pulls ahead of Mulberry in terms of LA's BEST PIZZA, is its superior sauce and toppings. Why are ... more
