En route to the center of the Grove, docked along Sailboat Bay and the marina, lies this revamped hotel best known as the hangout for the Miami Vice set -- drug kingpins, undercover cops, and other shady characters -- during the mid-'80s. Now it caters to a much more legitimate clientele. Service and style are bountiful at the Mutiny, which somehow has avoided the Nouveau-hotel hype and... more

The furniture was somewhat outdated but the sleeper sofa cushions were worn, dirty, and stained. I called to complain and someone who I couldn't communicate came up to make the bed. This was not the solution I was looking for. We were on the 3rd floor above the pool so the pool music starting playing around 6 am keeping me up. Not good. Plus my safe didn't work. (Security came and said it was... more

Great Location

We loved the location of the hotel. We could walk to all of the activities in Coconut Grove. We also liked that our family of six could all stay together instead of being split up into separate rooms. The view from our balconies was wonderful. It did take four requests before we got the extra towels we needed and housekeeping could have been more thorough. (The bathroom light fixtures were... more

The hotel was in a wonderful location, overlooking Biscayne Bay and walking distance to all that Coconut Grove has to offer. The accommodations were also exceptional. Having a two bedroom, two bath apartment with a full kitchen was very comfortable for our family of six. (Although the sleep sofa was not the most comfortable.) The view from our balconies was... more

Made reservations in December for a two night stay in March. Got a phone call while traveling to Miami telling us that the Mutiny had moved us to a "comparable" room at the Doubletree due to unexpected bookings. We had booked a suite with a kitchen at the Mutiny - at the Doubletree, we got only a room (not even... more

Pro: Excellent Location that is a quick drive to downtown Miami and 2 minutes to CocoWalk shopping/dining/entertainment area. Comfortable rooms with North/South views that have the bayfront along the Eastern aspect. The front desk staff is generally pleasant. Con: Overpriced. very limited guest ammenities. Fitness center is very small with outdated equipment. Concierges generally uninformed and... more

We never had problems during out stay unlike other posts, people have to understand that some condo hotels have limited service. This does not excuse room cleanliness, but we never had this problem. Overall hotel is nice and great location, rooms are big and beautiful. Pool are is small but a nice place to relax.

Stayed at the Mutiny the last week of June. It is about a 20 minute drive from MIA. The location is one the water in Coconut Grove and has decent views of Biscayne Bay. The hotel is located with a couple minutes walking distance of Coco Walk which is a nice collection of shops and restaurants. The hotel was gorgeous... more

Not a great place. Horrible beds, dirty dishes, rat poop on the floor. I was told there was a beach across the street. It was a harbor for docking boats. The front desk staff was rude. We walked in to a half roll of toilet paper and there was not another roll to be found. We had to use kleenex... more

Booked a 3-night stay through Hotwire four months before visiting for U of M graduation. Arrived at 7pm Thurs. and was told by the front desk clerk, while he was on the phone, that they were overbooked. No one called to let me know in advance even though they had my contact information. He said the Mutiny would pay for... more

Do not stay at the Mutiny despite the good location. The rooms are dirty and worn. It was rusted in places, the blinds did not work and the bathroom counter was all stained instead of white. The "hotel" (condo-tel) is in a good location and service is decent, except for the valet. Unfortunately I have nothing else nice to say about the hotel. The room was not clean, there was hair in the bathroom, and dirt all over the furniture. However, the worst part was the noise at night. When we checked in, the room was quiet. When we returned to the room for the evening, the permanent... more

As University of Miami football season ticket holders, we travel to Miami several times per year. We always stay at The Mutiny. Excellent value and very friendly staff. Location is great, with excellent views of the water, and right next to the restaurants, clubs and shops of Coconut Grove (no need to drive or taxi). The Mutiny is an all-suite condo hotel (one of the first in Miami, if I'm... more
