Have been living in germany for several years, but make sure every time I'm back home to stop in ... most of the time with a few non-ohioans in tow. I wear my 'if lost please return to luigis' tshirt with pride, and now a number of my freinds over here understand why!
Pros
+ all the food is great, but epecially the pizza and salad
Cons
- the crowds at peak times
I lived my whole life in akron so i've been to luigi's countless times. The cheese salad is the best. Everything else on menu (and i've had everything) is very "ok" and this is how everyone else i know feels also. The meatballs might be the worst I've ever had, and luigi's is famous in Akron ...but it's also famous for making you go straight to the bathroom.

Several people had recommended Luigis, so I had high expectations. They by far exceeded what I had in mind for a pizza shop. The food was great - be sure to order a salad with cheese! The waitress was very personable and the service was fast enough to make my two year old happy! Best value all around in Akron!
People eat at Luigi's for two reasons: the food and the tradition. As an Akron icon, Luigi's has been a favorite of both locals and tourists for years. The wall is covered with pictures of celebrity diners. The food is amazing. My wife and I have driven far out of our way to swing by Luigi's. And the price is pretty reasonable. Now the bad news: the service is sub-par, waiting for a table...

The salad dressing is simple oil and vinegar yet is so good. Don't bother getting a salad unless you splash out extra for the cheese. The pizza is too crusty for me (I'm a thin crust gal) so sometimes I get the lasagna; it usually takes four or five forkfuls to break through the cheese layer to get to the pasta. Yum. Other times I get perfectly done french fries with a side of mozzarella...

I have been going to Luigi's since I was a kid. I think some of the waitresses have been there that long! The food is great and inexpensive. They no longer have a smoking section, so the wait isn't as long as it has been in the past. The salad is delicious, although to describe it, it sounds somewhat plain. It is iceberg lettuce, sliced radishes and cheese piled high and dressed with...

Visited yesterday for the first time for lunch. The pizza was amazing. It was very crowded but only had to wait a minute for a table. I look forward to returning to try some entrees.
Pros
+ Great Pizza, Deal well with a crowd

This spot has the best pizza for sure! All of the food is good and the atmosphere is very friendly, it's comfortable and you can relax, also has excellent service!
PROS: open late
CONS:
This is a really awesome place to eat, especially if you like pizza and enjoy not having to empty your wallet out to get your family a quality meal. A large cheese pizza is only 9 dollars and they are of descent size with an amazing taste . A++++
they have the absolute best lasagna ever. i love there personal pan pizzas too. also there bread appetizers are delicious. the atmopsphere is totally great! they have shows and fun music. the waiters/waitresses are kind and i love the place alltogether!
Luigis is a great place to take your family for lunch or dinner. If you like cheese, I would HIGHLY recommend getting their salad with cheese, it is the best! My family likes their pizza and it's reasonably priced. Be prepared for a line to be seated, but it is worth the wait. The walls are filled with Akron history while you wait. Don't forget to get the salad!
Luigi's is an Akron favorite. It is located on Main Street, but it is separated from the rest of Main Street, so it can be difficult to find. One of the best things about Luigi's for our family is that it is open very late (until 3:00 a.m.). Although their pizza is highly rated by other Akron residents, it is not our favorite. I would rate their food as good, but not delicious. The...

Alyways seems to be a line to get seated if you are non-smokers. I am a smoker and get seated fast. The line seems to go quite smoothly and quickly for everyone. The raod in front is torn up, so it's not as easy to get to, but well worth the hastle! The food is fabulous! This has become my favorite italian restaurant!
Pros
+ inexpensive, interesting ambiance, fun
Cons
- , sometimes too...

If you can find it, it's worth every bite! The prices are somewhat high but the homemade bread and their salads are out of this world. If you like cheese and lots of it, just ask for extra on your salad or pizza and see how much you get! Their hand tossed pizza is outta sight and they serve beer and wine too. They are open late until 4am and lots of police hang out there so you feel safe in...

This may very well be the best Italian food in Ohio. Every time I am near Akron, I make a point to go under the "Y" bridge to this quaint little old-fashioned Italian eatery. Cheese cheese and sime cheese on the side. Don't get the gigantic salad unless there are at least 10 in your party, and even then expect to take some of it home.
One of the few real Italian restaurants still around. It has maintained i's excellent tradition of fine service and fine food throughout generations of my family!
The coolest place in Akron. The "melting pot" of downtown. The color of the city.
"My Luigi's."
