Art deco meets Moorish castle in this black-and-gold accented room that specializes in dry-aged beef (14 to 21 days) as well as lobster, lamb, veal, fish and chicken. Among the unique appetizers are a shrimp cocktail in which the sauce is made with a light marinara and the escargot that is accented with a tomato conncasse.

With a great lineup of free entertainment, plus the video jukebox lounge, two floors of gaming, several dining choices and one of the best vantages for the Fremont Street Experience show, Fitzgeralds is your lucky place. There's plenty of room to test the luck of the Irish at Fitzgeralds. It's the only downtown casino/hotel with two floors of gaming action. With more than 42,000 square feet,... more

The Irish theme was tastefully toned down, and gamblers still count on lots of good luck.

Opened in 1956, this 13-story tower, just north of the legendary intersection of Hollywood and Vine, is one of the city's most recognizable buildings. The world's first circular office building is often, but incorrectly, said to have been made to resemble a stack of 45s under a turntable stylus (it kinda does, though). Nat "King" Cole, songwriter Johnny Mercer, and other 1950s Capitol artists... more

Fitzgeralds recently got a new owner, the first African American to own a Vegas casino, an interesting bit of trivia. Positive changes have come in his wake, though at this writing, mostly in the public areas. Largely gone is the luck o the Irish theme... more

The old-Vegas-style 34-story hotel was the tallest building in Nevada for 15 years, until it was eclipsed by the Stratosphere Tower. Bright, recarpeted hallways lead to clean and comfortable rooms done in fall colors; the Fitz is gradually replacing the somewhat seedy dark-green room carpets.

This casino is done up in greens and golds, and the overall effect is not quite as tacky as you might expect, though the now near-total absence of any overt Irish theme means its rather forgettable. In fact, its rather friendly and with a medium... more

Great Gaming at The Fitz

We always make our way to the Fitz to play blackjack when in Vegas. The atmosphere is that of 'Old' Vegas instead of the one found on the Strip. When it comes to food Limericks steakhouse is a great bargain. The food is great and the price is right for the quality. The staff in the casino and the restaurant were courteous and helpful.

Limerick's is one of Las Vegas' well kept secrets. It is hidden upstairs in Fitzgerald's Casino. The service is excellent. The food is too. The Prime Rib is lean and prepared as you request. The seafood is also well prepared. My husband and I have eaten here several times. The maitre d and the wait staff treat you like family.

Went in just before closing and ordered Prime Rib. They must have wanted to get rid of the rest of what they had. I got a chunk of meat that was HUGE! I really suggest going in late. You get a lot!!
