Sofitel Philadelphia was a pretty good hotel. The room rates here are definitely not cheap. The food at this hotel wasn't bad, but it was undoubtedly overpriced. The staff weren't too bad. The location is good. The room wasn't very big. The bathroom was nice. The lobby was pretty luxurious.

Sofitel is a french chain of hotels. The rooms are large, comfortable, clean and generally very quiet. It is in a great location - right near City Hall and only a few minutes from Old City and the Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and Betsy Ross's house. The rooms do not have coffee makers.

I read the other reviews but went anyway.

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it! The service was polite, prompt, and professional. The food was excellent (I'd give it four stars out of five), and the atmosphere was Paris in the 20's with a slight modern touch.

Although, like these other reviews, there were few customers, it was 5:00 on Sunday.

Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

"We found this hotel to be delightful. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. The complimentary continental breakfasts were wonderful. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever had. Turn down should be after 6:00, however this is minor really. Service & location were perfect. Nice experience."

"Large room (about 13x20 overall footprint), large bath w. shower separate from tub, super bed, great staff. Unlike lower priced places, they do charge for local phone and internet. Housekeeping excellent. Location good for center city and tourist spots. Plenty of local restaurants at all price ranges. Would stay there again."

Got lost twice

"Rooms are nice. Beds are very comfortable. Pillows were too big and not comfortable. Food was below average, both room service and at the bar. Concierge provided limited verbal/hand written dirrections (no computer print outs, nor maps). "Not the biggest fan of Philadelphia, but the Sofitel is so incredibly awesome that it alone draws me back. The area is quite boring, but for a romantic getaway the Sofitel can't be beat. The bed will swallow you up in pillowy ecstacy and the layout of the rooms are fantastic. My beautiful girlfriend and I felt like royalty and can't wait to stay again!"
