Editorial Reviews from the web

An old-fashioned Irish pub inside the glass-and-granite confines of downtown Minneapolis' Towle Building.

In Short Step inside and you'd almost swear you were in a pub on the other side of the pond. Large lunchtime and happy-hour crowds keep the friendly servers busy. Nab a cozy table near the stone fireplace and you won't care whether anyone pays attention. Aside from the expected Guinness, Harp and Bass drafts, Finnegan's Irish Ale and other selections are on tap. Black and Tans and... more

Poor Service and Unimpressive Food by anonymous l. at InsiderPages

Kieran's is a regular spot for several of my co-workers due to convenience rather than quality. Lunch is adequate but nothing special - service is typically slow and the restuarant unclean. Happy hour on the outside patio is a bit better to experience.

Great place in the city!

The food is some of the best I've had in Minneapolis. It's very reasonably priced and the outdoor seating is key. No complaints. Great service and amazing food.

Great Irish Pub by Jane M. at InsiderPages

Kieran's is a great Irish pub in downtown Minneapolis. Quality live music. It's a popular place--lots of patrons. In the summer, there is outdoor seating. It has been referred to as the gateway to Irish culture in the twin cities. I'd have to agree. The folks at Kieran's support many local Irish events and contribute to celebration of the Irish heritage/culture right here in Minnesota.

Really cool decor and easy to find. Friendly staff, great music, and open-mic sessions too. It's definitely a place to check out if you're visiting the area for the first time!

food good, love the patio and selection on menu. Great parking and location. Service was great also. I would go back again and again. I also like the food selection and location to go out to night clubs

I love Kieran's for the food, music, service, atmosphere, etc... Catching the Tim Malloys on a Friday or Saturday night makes the weekend just that much sweeter. I wish there was a bit more room to sit in the main room but really that's my only con (and not a big one). I recommend it to everyone!

Wonderful atmosphere, great food and excellent service. During the
summer they offer seating outdoors. My husband and I go there often
to meet friends, and we really enjoy the live bands and on occasion the
live dancing. I'd recommend this place to everyone looking for
a fun night out in town!

Great food (had the fish & chips, hubby had the corned beef
and cabbage) Long Island's that'll knock your socks
off. Irish music was a treat and the service was great. Note: not
for those looking for a quiet secluded spot.

The Twin Cities do Irish pubs right. There isn't a single
one where you don't get what you expect. Kieran's is
no exception, and my choice for a drink before or after First Avenue
shows. Great bar, good pub grub, authentic ambiance and good
Irish music. If you're going to be a barfly, I'll take
places like this over the trendy bars any day. It has personality.

Fun place to go to sit around and talk, good burger and beer place
to sit around with friends and relax in downtown mpls. Not so loud
inside that you can't hear anyone yet still a fun atmosphere.

Kieren's is a great Irish pub. In the summer they have indoor and
outdoor seating which is something you don't see much in a downtown
eating establishment..makes it easy to enjoy the wonderful
Minnesota summers. Food is great, but I think they need to lighten
it up in the rooms. It is a typical old style bar, but I like to see
what I am eating.

Good pub food. Bangers and mash and pot pies are good.
