Other Reviews from the web
The last 2 reviews are spot on! I went to Johnnys on Mississippi last week and I know exactly who the reviewer was talking about. I stood at the counter for a few minutes waiting for service while the waitress was very busy and a very dirty and miserable looking person who I'm guessing was the manger mspencer was talking about made salads and didn't even glance my way to greet me. I've never...

Checked out the Johnnys location at 26th and Kipling, and was really hoping for a good slice of pie. Was greeted by 4 very loud teens who were too busy playing grabass to take an order, and when the young man with sweat shorts with his butt hanging out came over, he was clueless. Said the pizza would take 15 minutes and 45 minutes later a half cooked pie came to our table. My 9 year old...

Johnny's used to be one of my favorite places in Lakewood. Things have changed so much since Johnny hasn't been around. They have a new manager and I think his name is Phil and he absolutely ruins the whole experience. He has a terrible attitude, is extremely rude to the customers and employees and always looks filthy and disgusting. I'm not sure if he only has one shirt but it looks like...

I enjoying going to Johnny's for lunch when I get the chance. The slices are huge and NEVER leave hungry! The service is always spot on and talking with the staff is a real treat.
Pros
+ What is not to like. It's real food with GREAT serivce.
Cons
- Nada
Fugettaboutit - Johnny's serves up a real slice of the New York pie. I've been frequenting this place since it opened four years ago and still love it. It's the closest New York-style pizza I've found in the Mile High City
Pros
+ The real deal on pizza
Cons
- No beer on the menu

Pros

Cons

I love this place. I take my family on the weekends, or have his pizza for the kid?s sleep-overs. We have never had a poorly cooked pie. Johnny is good for our community. It?s nice to have his resultant in the neighborhood. Give it a try.
Pros
+ Johnny.
Cons
- small
just ok- Step up from frozen grocery store pizza. I would not go out of my way. I would go to the oven.
Nothing special to me. A little expensive for so little cheese and very greasy. Knots where hard. I won't be back, owner did not look happy at all? Must be the cost of flour?
Pros
+ none
Cons
- greasy pizza
I enjoyed the take out I had on a Monday. There were plenty of toppings and cheese on the pizza. I was reading some of the other reviews. I can not tell, but it looks like someone really is upset at Johnny. He makes good food, and in the past I've enjoyed our taks about NY. I had never had a bad lunch, or dinner.
Pros
+ Johnny. Good food for the price.
Cons
- Small place.
I usually don't write reviews, I usually read them. After reading the reviews of Johnnys, I feel compelled to write my honest opinion.
I love this place. The food, the staff, the atmosphere- they are all great! I find myself craving his pizza at least once a week.
I have yet to find anyone more genuine than the owner. His New York attitude and his simple generosity have helped more than one...

I went on a Friday night on a recommendation from this site. I had some concerns, because of the negative reviews. But I saw some good ones too. I then ordered large cheese pizza with knots. When I brought it home we were presently surprised. The pizza and knots were good. There was a perfect blend of the crisp crust, good tasting tomato sauce, plenty of cheese and not too much garlic (on the...

I always drive by and decided to stop in for a slice. To be honest, I was hoping it would be better. The slices they sell are not like what I remember in New York. The place is not much to look at and it was pretty empty. It wasn't the worst pizza I have had probably somewhere between Dominos and Pizza Hut. Oh well, I'll just keep looking.
This place is not only good; its great! I have seen other people talk a good game about their favorite pizza shops. When I introduced my friends to Johnny's, they all agreed that this was the best pizza. And the perk? They have reaaly good italian food also. If I want a calzone, this is the only place to get a proper "calzone". Forget the rest- judge for yourself!

I go here once, or twice a week. I get two slices of sausage, knots and a soda. The food and service are ALWAYS great. It?s a little small, but enjoyable. I read some of the other reviews. Why so much hate for joint? I have been to the over-hyped place down the street. It was ok, but I prefer John?s. He always nice and doesn?t rush the CUSTOMERS out to fill a booth.

I recently ate at Johnnys. Ordered pizza and a calzone. Pizza was NOTHING like Ny style pizza. It was dry and tasteless. Calzone was not cooked all the way and was not even close to good. The place is dismal looking and not clean and not (really) dirty.

I couldn't get to Johnny's for the first pizza giveaway, so a group of us headed there for lunch one Saturday afternoon. The place was clean, the pizza was fresh and tasty, and the service was excellent. I love being able to order pizza by the slice. I was amazed to read the review of spark6431. He complains that the food is horrible, but yet he admits he was willing to stand in line for nearly 30 minutes to get some. They burnt my first pizza. The second one camne out and i took it home. Got it home and ate it. ---- The sauce is no good, the crust was ok at best, cheese was rubbery and looked like little dots. they seem to always be giving it away for free as somekind of sports promotion. Thats a good time to get this pizza. Paying for this is just not worth it.

I enjoyed the pizza here at Johnny's. He does not ring his own bell, like some other places in Lakwood. He just makes good food. Make sure you try some of his knots. They are a nice start to a good piece of pie.

Being new to the area, I used to buy Johnny's pizza fairly regularly. However, the owner recently did a free pizza day since the Rockies swept the Yankees. True thin crust NY pizza with big slices that you can easily fold in half (like you're supposed ta!) and lots of stretchy muzz on top. And they make an anchovy pizza, so I don't have to wait till I'm back visiting family to enjoy the pizza I love.
