I stay at the hotel that was excellent, front desk superb! The steak was perfect, the lobster was fresh, price was high but worth it. One of the best places in KC and love the atmosphere and decor of the place. Very much worth the money! Money well spent for a city lacking in the resturant business.

I snaged a great deal on a room and loved every minute of it. The hotel seemed pretty empty and the front desk staff very helpful. Adressing me as Ms. almost like I was a princess. The bed was SO comfortable and the room was exqusite! It was too bad I could only stay one night. Highly recommended to anyone wanting a nice hotel to relax and get away.

This place is fabulous. The food is wonderful and consistently high quality. The atmosphere is quiet and romantic. In my humble opinion it is one of KC's best kept secrets and that is a shame. For a 4-star hotel. I expect the air conditioning to work. Also, the buttons on the phone for "concierge", "room service", "guest services", etc. did not work. I pressed 0 finally and it took 3 calls and I waited over 20 rings and finally got someone. They mentioned a discount because the air was not working well. Hope to see it.

The hotel was beautiful; however, the 4 star room was small despite having an upgrade. The Kansas City downtown construction made the location of the hotel poor and the downtown atmosphere was not good. After the downtown construction is finished, I'm sure this hotel would be great but until then, it is a little bit of a hassle.

This is a beautifully restored hotel, walking distance to the convention center. Upon entering the lobby you feel as though you walked onto a 1920's movie set. Easy access to freeway. Hotel Phillips is an elegant, historic Kansas city hotel. Renovated in the earlier this decade, the hotel has a lovely European elegance and comfort that one does not find in other hotels. However, the hotel's recent renovation - and bedding - is showing some wear, and the rooms are not as clean as they have been in the past.

First room assigned had not been cleaned since last guest checked out. Room service was sub-par and over priced for what you get. Valet only on-site parking option. Room was on the small side (maybe because we had a corner room. We could hear doors opening and closing as well as people talking (not loudly) in the hallway. The staff (all of them) was great. My wife, two adult children, and a family friend all stayed in the hotel Phillips over memorial day weekend. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and we enjoyed the jazz bar in the evenings. Helpful hint: sign up for the rewards program to receive a room upgrade and free wireless.

Hotel Phillips is an excellent hotel for someone who simply wants a very nice room. There are few amenities and at this price, I would have expected more. This hotel did not meet our expectations at all for a 4 star rating. Our room was extremely small and the bathroom was so tiny that one could barely close the door once inside. I was really looking forward to a nice, hot bubble bath, but there was only a shower. The entire room only had one sink and mirror - which was inside the bathroom. The parking situation with valet-only was pricey and inconvenient. There needs to be another option. Also, the amenities were not up to par with what I expected based on the star rating and description.

Excellent downtown location, easy & convenient valet parking if you're going to be coming and going, plus great service right inside your hotel if you need a nice meal or cocktails at the other bar. Rooms have a stylish, remodeled feel.

Hotel Phillips is not a 4 star hotel. It is nice but nothing special. It is very convenient for downtown kick business needs. The bell staff is very friendly and energetic. The dining is pricey and slow service. Rooms are small, yet nice.

The hotel was nice and clean and the rooms were comfortable and attractive. There were certain things that seemed to need updating in the lobby, maybe some painting or fixing-up of the elevators is in order. The restaurant on 12th was not good at all--the appetizers were terrible.

This hotel is in a historic building in downtown Kansas City. Would have been really interesting to see this place in it's day. Elevators are small but very interesting. Rooms are nice, beds are excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean but very small. I would recommend this place.

This hotel was okay for a night's stay if you do not want any amenities and are there just to sleep. The rooms were not very large and needed renovating. New carpet, wall coverings, etc. It was not quite the deal I thought I was getting. The lobby was pretty and the building itself had some historic charm, but did not offer much otherwise.

It is on the national historic register and it has a beautiful art deco lobby and surroundings. The room was equally sleek and the service was impeccable. I plan on going there again.

This hotel made me feel content: The room itself made me feel like I had gone back in time to a more elegant and chic time.
