I've stayed here twice on business, and I would say it's typical of the converted "boutique" hotels you'll find in other big cities. The first time I stayed in a weirdly pink room with a run-down bathroom. The more recent time my room was smaller, but chic and looked brand new. I must say I am no expert, but I loved staying at Hotel Allegro. The prices were reasonable compared to other hotels, and the uniqueness of the place made it a very favorable stay. The location is convenient, and the service was great. It was our honeymoon, so they even comped our parking. Our room was great, and being in downtown Chicago during the xmas season was fun.
