I've stayed here twice on business, and I would say it's typical of the converted "boutique" hotels you'll find in other big cities. The first time I stayed in a weirdly pink room with a run-down bathroom. The more recent time my room was smaller, but chic and looked brand new. I stayed at this hotel for a girls weekend, the room was huge and had every thing we needed. This Hotel is close to shopping, theatres, the Art Institute, and all transportation. Very well priced for the location, I will stay there again.

For a dowtown hotel, the prices are reasonalbe. The location is great too - close to shopping, theatre and restaurants. Although the rooms are very small, the charming decor makes up for the size. The style is very hip and funky and the staff is friendly and attentive. Great hotel for the value.

I stayed at the Hotel Allegro for Valentine's Day weekend 2004. Although it is an older building, they have done a great job converting it into a fun and funky boutique hotel. There are still older fixtures in the bathrooms from the 1940's but I considered it very quaint.
