Help us make it right
Their buses are ok but some look really bad and old. I hate that one day I was traveling to Ohio. The trip was long but what was worst was that I had to get another bus. Another day I was in New York City with my mother. We purchased tickets to go to Boston. Guess where we were? You are not going to believe it. Washington Dc. Yes true story here. They gave us other tickets to go to Boston but for real they should have given us free tickets for bad customer service. I mean come on the guy could not read the tickets? Boston and Washington DC are different. Of course we did not leave right away we had to wait for next bus which took a long time. The bus terminal in DC is so scary and unsafe at night. There was a lot of druggies if you know what I mean. I also no longer use Greyhound to go to New York City. I use Fung Wah Bus and Lucky star. It's $30 dollars one way with Greyhound and $15 dollars with Fung Wah and Lucky Star well you do the math. Check out my review of Fung Wah Bus lines and Lucky Star Bus lines. Truereview here to tell you the truth.
Gross! That about sums up Greyhound. I booked a trip from Philly to Boston. They failed to mention that there was going to be a layover in NYC which would make my trip another hour long. I ended...
Booked well in advance, this is the cheap way to go from Boston to Montreal. $37! (Flying from Boston to Montreal starts at $250) The new buses have Wifi and outlets so you can keep busy from a...
The bus got me where I needed to be, for a price that was fair and the schedules were great. The reason I am taking off stars is due to the crazy drivers who are not as bad as the fung wah but my...
OK, after taking to Fung Wah to NYC (along with livestock), the Greyhound Bus was a much welcomed improvement. This was before the Mega Bus (read my review). Yes, Greyhound employees do speak English...
A-OK is correct.I've had to take Greyhound west to New York several times, both in college and recently. That being said, I've never had a terrible experience, but nothing to warrant a great one....
I've taken the Greyhound Boston-NY several times. I hate taking the bus, and I only do it when I or my traveling companions can't/won't pay for Amtrak (as my boyfriend recently pointed out, a...
The "A-OK" for 3 stars really summarizes my experience. I was really afraid of my Boston-NY round trip after reading these reviews. Alas, I had already purchased my ticket and when Amtrak is more than...
Reasons to take Greyhound!!1. Your driver actually has a drivers license issued by a US State or Canadian Province.2. Drivers are drug tested3. If your bus crashes u don't have to worry about the...
For a higher price then the competitors, you expect to get more - you don't! Insted you need to print the discount ticket (which is still not cheaper then the other companies), verses buying one on...
I don't love Greyhound. I tolerate it. It used to be my only reasonably priced option to get to school from home (NYC-Albany). But as a college student, I didn't know better, and thus didn't care....
I personally have not had any problems with Greyhound, so I am surprised by all of the bad reviews. When I take it, it usually leaves and arrives on time. The only kind of negative thing I experienced...
Why would anyone ever take a Greyhound? Port Authority is awful, crowded, and heartless. More tickets are sold than there are seats on the buses, resulting in me having to wait hours to catch a bus...
Disclaimer: usually, the only kind of bus I take, is the one going to NYC.Having said that, there are only 2 reasons I see you would consider taking a Greyhound bus over Luckystar/Fung Wah: (1) Port...
I took Greyhound to and from NY in February and my experience with them was good.I had originally planned to take the Chinatown bus but a friend of mine from NY had talked me out of it because he was...
Smelly & overpriced
Everyone claims that Fung Wah is the way to go because of the cheap fares, but Greyhound offers the same $15 OW ticket price. And without the potential of spontaneously combusting en route. For the...
It's not America until you've taken the Greyhound bus and offered a stick of Wrigley's to a cute girl in the seat across the aisle. At least that was the American dream they sold us on TV in the UK in...
I used to take Greyhound a lot a few summers ago from Boston, to Bangor Maine. It was never on time, and they took the longest routes - i.e. 495 to 95?? Whaaat? No 93? No Rt. 1 at least? Then they...
If you charge twice as much as the Fung Wah, you'd better provide a service that is twice as good. Greyhound failed in this respect. Cost/Benefit analysis:1. Greyhound stopped at the nastiest fast...
I usually take the Fung Wah bus to New York from Boston. This one time my paranoid friend was too scared to travel on the Fung. Jeez, you crash one bus..Anyway, first off the bus always always always...
No travel experience, not even driving to Wyoming in a van with my grandparents, parents, cousin, and sister on my 9th birthday, has been as bad as my Greyhound ride from Boston to DC in the summer of...
I have a serious love-hate relationship with Greyhound. In my many years of schlepping between Boston and NYC, I have had terrible experiences, and also some good ones. It's always a coin toss when...
You know, I wanted to be won over by Greyhound's service after my experience with Philadelphia's Century 2000 Chinatown bus...
WIthout any other transportation, and not wanting to rent a car to drive to NYC, Greyhound is the only option for me when going to NYC. Fung-wah and lucky star scare me, and amtrak and limoliner are...
I'm speeding down the highway in a rickety old bus when a wheel falls off and the engine catches on fire! The bus roars to life with screams from the passengers..... I wake up in a sweat! Phew it was...
I decided to take the Greyhound bus from Boston to NYC because I kept hearing negative things about the Fung Wah buses (although the two times I took it were fine). Anyway, my Greyhound bus BROKE...
I love Greyhound. I go to NYC a lot these days to either visit the 'rents or hang with some U/F/C NY Yelpers, and Greyhound is the best choice on how to get there.Sure... you can take an Amtrak train...
I took the Greyhound from Boston to NYC 2 weeks ago for the first time, after taking both the LimoLiner and FungWah. Of the 3, I think the Greyhound is the best choice, when you weigh in cost,...
There is nothing special about my experiences with Greyound - they are perfunctory, at best. However, I can't really find much to complain about. Granted, they are not always the most comfortable mode...
Researched Fung Wah, Lucky Star, and Greyhound to get to NYC before settling on Greyhound. Fung Wah has had several accidents/incidents over the past six months. I didn't find much about Lucky....
I've taken Greyhound to NYC and Hartford. Its not glamorous, but beats spending $100 plus on Amtrak or a plane ticket. Tickets are first come, first serve. So, get to the bus station early and I'm...
Book on-line for $15. Ride on a bus whose driver has a license and experience driving in the USA. My ride from NY to Boston was quiet, on time, and never scary (a la the stories I've heard about...
Greyhound is really great. I use them to go from Boston to NYC and for a bit more money than the Fung Wah bus it is totally worth it. Also, if you want to leave on an earlier or later trip they'll let...
Safe. Reliable. Not that much more money than the Chinatown bus. You KNOW you're making it in one piece of you take Greyhound down to NYC. It's a lot more fun going down to hang out with my friends...
I took the bus this weekend to Syracuse, NY, already knew what I was getting myself into with a 7hr bus ride. But my ride there through the rain was ridiculous. It started out fine, until we got to...
