The Embassy Suites in Des Moines is a beautiful place to stay. The area is a safe place to take the kids and walk to the sites. The Capital building is only 5 or 6 blocks to the east and is a neat site to see at night with the golden dome all light up. The river front is also beautiful to go and look at. It was very easy to get to from the interstate even with all the construction going on.

Fantastic and beautiful hotel. In the heart of downtown Des Moines - close to many fine restaurants and to the Civic Center. The evening reception and cooked-to-order breakfast were wonderful. The staff was especially friendly and helpful. The room far exceeded our expectations and we had a great time. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

If you are in town for a convention it is not conveniently located otherwise the hotel is first class with large rooms, friendly staff and great complimentary breakfast and happy hour service in the evening.

I called the hotel and asked if they would give me a non smoking room. The employee I spoke with did but when I arrived, the desk clerk said they only had smoking available, even though there was a notation in the computer.This has happened to me the last two times. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again myself. Even when asking for a room change b/c our first room was across from the elevator and a bit noisy, the staff were understanding and found us a different room, matching our preference. Within walking distance to the Wells Fargo Arena, a great place to stay and walk to a show.

I requested non-smoking they did not have any available the night I stayed I requested double beds they only had a king available. But a fold out sofa which worked for our stay. Overall I was very satisfied with the room.
