The margaritas are hallucinogenic but the food is atrocious. The interior is very cool though - filled with kitsch. Sharon Tate had her last meal here.

The decor at El Coyote is a combination of fake-peeling-plaster and authentic Mexican folk art. What draws thousands of people to this unpretentious landmark, including fraternity guys, blue hairs and Hollywood rockers? It can't be the food--countless gallons of refried beans and rice laden with glutinous orange cheese. It must be the margaritas, the fiesta ambience and the prices. Those bent... more

Come for the margaritas. Stay for the margaritas.

It's a fun, loud party atmosphere at this longstanding classic. Hollywood wannabes, men in shiny shirts and those just looking to quench their thirst happily coalesce into a vivid margarita-fueled blur. Bright walls, waitresses in long, ruffled Mexican dresses and cheap eats add kitschy fun, but really, everyone... more

it's definitely not the food, but the crazy atmosphere and those scratch margarita's! Great for large parties to celebrate any occasion and inexpensive too.

You don't come here for the food. . . my friend's dragged me here to eat, AWFUL stuff. The ambience is interesting though but, this place is mainly for drinks although I wasn't impressed one bit!!!

Go for anything but the food

The Yo is a great place to hang, meet friends and have mean margaritas. But don't expect more than that. The food is mediocre at best. American cheese on tacos? Come on. But after some tequila shots you'll probably think you're in Mexico.

How has this place survived?

About the worst Mexican food in LA, but for some reason quite popular. OK, it's kind of festive and has decent margaritas, but why can't they make better Mexican food!!!

house margarita, rocks on the side

Great for groups, margaritas that will have you calling a cab and professing your love to the security guard. Always a celeb in sight, and lots of people who wish they were.... Most are too drunk to notice. It's my favorite place to go, lunch or dinner.

It's fun but.....

Always have a great time here, especially with a group of friends. The drinks are fabulous and if you want an evening of fun, this is the place to go. If you're looking for fabulous mexican food though.... keep looking.

What's not to like? This joint isn't going to break anyone's budget. A dinner here, is under $10, and the drinks are pretty cheap, too. It's a great place to go after work. The only down side is at peak hours, the wait is unbearable.

Cheers to Kitsch!

Cheap (but good) margaritas and cheap, greasy food all wrapped up in a tacky but comfortable setting. El Coyote is a fantastic place to go for that old Hollywood feel.

A great place to go with friends

This has to be the best place to catch a buzz!!! The margaritas just creep up on you so you have to be careful not to drink more then 5!!!! The food tastes better as you keep pounding down the MARGS.. Over all this is the spot for a great hang!
