Staff was super friendly and accomdating. Free pick up from the airport and our room was ready early despite a sold out weekend. The restaurant food was ok, not bad, not outstanding. The drinks and desserts were very good. The beds were VERY comfortable with down everything. Internet was a dissapointing $13. These days most places I stay have free... more

This hotel is a delight. We stayed over the 4th of July holiday weekend. The front desk staff is bright, professional and courteous. They answered all our questions, and if they did not know an answer they knew where to go to find help. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was kind...and even left us extra... more

The Des Moines Marriott Downtown Hotel did everything right during our June week

The Des Moines Marriott Downtown Hotel did everything right during our June week-end stay. It is one of the few skyscrapers in the city, with 31 floors and 415 rooms. It is located in the center of downtown a few blocks from theaters, restaurants, and festivals (farmers market, art fairs, etc.). The rooms are spacious (about 25 by 15 feet)... more

Was in town on a leisure trip for one night and booked this hotel via priceline for $55. For people traveling to Des Moines -- large hotels, particularly those downtown, can often be booked for weekend stays for as little as $50 through sites like priceline. While I do not use priceline often, I have booked the Renaissance, West Des... more

I booked a stay here recently on Priceline. I had stayed before so I knew what to expect. Parking was $14 and Internet was $13. Eeek! On the other hand, there is a free shuttle to and from the airport for those who need it, although you are expected to tip the driver. As many have noted, the hotel is... more

Nice stay for business at the Marriott

Spent three nights on business at the Des Moines Marriott. Check-in was a smooth process along with the valet parking. I did think $17 a night for parking was steep for Des Moines since that was the same amount I paid in Memphis two weeks back.. The room and bathroom looked modern and was clean. The revive sheets on the... more

Stayed there with the Rutger's Basketball team, the Bellstaff did such a wonderfull job unloading our bus. Very professional. They also provided transportation for our group, and shuttled us wherever we needed to go as we came by motorcoach and without them we would have not been able to see anything in Des Moines. The front desk staff was very... more

I had a relaxed stay at the Downtown Marriott. The room wasn’t memorable but was clean and had a comfortable bed. What was memorable about the hotel were the facilities. Aging hotel that needs Botox

Stayed here for a business trip as location is incredibly convenient. However, the hotel needs upgrading and it definitely needs to tone down the use of air fresheners. The entire hotel was so saturated with it you could taste it. Only the pool had "fresh" air. Breakfast is standard, a convenience for guests, I would not recommend as a destination... more

Stayed here for two days during Christmas holiday. The hotel was not full, but the staff was very nice. Hotel is clean, parking at adjoining parking lot (operated by City of Des Moines) was easy, and they left a little stocking at out door on Christmas morning...nice touch. Would recommend.

Very well-maintained hotel. Nice rooms, great lobby area. Beware, this hotel is downtown and there is very limited parking. There is a public city lot but you have to drive around the block to get to it. I requested a King room when I confirmed the reservation and told that was fine, but when I got there, they said I couldn't have one. Hotel desk and phone staff seemed very smug. This is a nice hotel. I have stayed there before. The parking situation is ridiculous. No one should have to pay $17 for parking. This is Des Moines, IA. The staff was actually friendly this time and not rude. The room service was ok. Instead of paying for hotel Pizza Hut, next time will order from actual store. Overall, nice hotel.

The hotel was great. Unfortunately a triathlon in the area greatly restricted our experience visiting Des Moines. Because all of the streets surrounding the motel were closed, we were limited to walking to nearby attractions.

This hotel was wonderful. Really great staff that did their jobs cheerfully and well. They really went out of their way to make my stay a pleasant one. It was wonderful to meet people who are determined to do their jobs well, with the guests feelings in mind. Great room. Clean, neat, well kept. Super comfortable bed, shower, etc. Absolutely wonderful.

We were really disappointed that the spa was under construction. We would not have stayed there because of that. We should have been told that! We've stayed there before and loved it. We like the no smoking. No hair dryer? It is a nice place though. Just disappointed this time.

We'd stay there again - nice hotel and pleasant, helpful staff. The pool isn't the best for young children, as it is 3 ft at the most shallow spot. Overall, though, I love the comfort and convenience of this hotel; it is great being connected to the sky walk. Again - friendly staff!

The rooms were great and the staff was helpful. The things that I didn't like were the valet parking attendants kind of swoop on you like vultures and the parking through them is over priced.
