Its actually in the first Union Station in the US. Their traincars are so wonderful, they are all themed and they are all different. If you love trains or have a passion for them, this is the place to stay. This hotel is so different from all the other ones downtown and its right next to Lucas Oil Stadium. That I love! I can literally work across the street! Beautiful place! You will... more

Just returned from a short 2-night stay at the Crowne Plaza formerly a Holiday Inn, so I am told. From what has been posted about this hotel, I was somewhat skeptical to stay there, but had little choice since much of everywhere else was booked. Upon arriving, the area in front of the hotel looks terrible and gives off a uncomfortable feeling. The hotel is alright, but when entering the room it was not clean. After reading many reviews of this hotel, I decided I needed to post my own opinion. I stayed, on a completely booked weekend, with 4 teenage girls and the moms. We loved the hotel!! I was very excited to stay at the Crowne Plaza Union Station in Indianapolis, but upon arrival I realized that my expectations were set a bit too high. The lobby is first rate, the staff pleasant, and shuttle service prompt, but our "4-star" room was disappointing. The carpeting was pieced and raveling. The Crowne Plaza is located in an old (but still functioning) train station so it has plenty of character. The lobby and rooms are well laid out and clean. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance including the ram brewery and hooters. Internet service is free and worked well. The downside had to pay $18.00 for parking, which is more than a remote lot at Chicago O'Hare! If you want valet parking, it's $23.00. The room did shake when the train passed through. The in-out valet is only a few dollars more than the one-time only parking ramp, so it's worth it. And the date we chose to visit made the hotel price a real steal. Great town and great hotel.
