Today is the second time I have visited The Cricket, and the second time I had terrible service. I would not recommend this place for anyone on a lunch hour, or that is trying to impress a date. Food was OK, once they took your order, if you want desert you better order it right away. The waitresses we had on both occasions were less than attentive. Mike whom is the bartender thru the early part of the day has a fantastic Bloody Mary receipe. He truly helps make your drinking and or dining experience very enjoyable. While sitting there you never know who may sit next to you. On occasions there have been all star sporting figures and at other times there have been the rock and roll stars. They had to switch my rooms twice and I ended up canceling my third day. Rooms are outdated, VERY NOISY, internet is spotty, toilets didn't work in either of the rooms they put me in. "used parking garage 1/4 of a block away for $8 dollars and not $25 like valet. Room had new sheets and down comforter, amazing!"

Nice but dark

This is still the best hotel in Cincinnati, but the rooms are a litte worn and very dark. OK when there is something happening downtown, but if not, its pretty dull at night.

"valet was way to expensive, especially after i sat outside for 25 minutes before a valet took my car. 19"" tv in the Luxory King? Plus all the channels had static. Wife found hair in the bath tub too! Won't stay here again"

Needs Attention

Very friendly staff and good tradition does not make up for the fact that this hotel needs attantion. Broken fixtures, torn wallpaper, terrible water pressure (and very little hot water) and bleak late-night room-service options indicate either a lack of concern or awareness. Whichever the case, I hope somebody steps in and saves this classic soon.

Deservedly so, The Palace is always near the top of Best Restaurants in Cincy. Truthfully, the food really is good. However, my wife & I went there this year (2004) for our traditional intimate Christmas dinner and I must say that I was unimpressed with the ambiance. We spent 2 nights at the Cincinnatian Hotel and have to say that it is strictly first class. Our stay there was one to be remembered, and a Hotel we will frequent again upon our next visit to Cinci. We could not have asked for a more luxurious room and the service was Superb.
The food was 5 star as well.

Have stayed at most of the large downtown hotels, the Cincinnatian is the most luxurious and has the best restaurant. Probably would classify this hotel as a "boutique" vs. the larger and less interesting Hyatt, Westin and Hiltons nearby.
