This intimate, brick- and brass-accented room is one of downtown's classiest restaurants. A waiter prepares your salad table-side from a well-stocked cart, and you can select from entrees that include prime steaks, veal, lamb, duck, chicken and seafood. A compote tray of chocolate-dipped fruits precedes the pastry cart, which tempts you with cheesecakes, strawberry torte and Black Forest cake.

As the Strip continues to expand and the tourists arrive in droves, escape all of that and stay downtown. The Four Queens is not lavish and it doesn't have a volcano or pirate show. What it does have is clean rooms (don't expect brand new or luxurious) in an atmosphere of friendliness. It's easy to get around and you can be just a block or so from your hotel no matter where you go downtown.

We ate here on November 4, 2007, because of all the great reviews on Trip Advisor. We were very disappointed. The service was good. The food was mediocre at best. I had the veal marsala. The veal was tasteless and the sauce tasted like it was out of a jar. My husband had the scallops which he said were flavorless.... more

Third time in Vegas, third visit to Hugo's Cellar. This time for my sister's 40th birthday. Seven of us had a fantastic meal, but on past experience, don't fill up on the bread, or order a starter. Went to Hugo's Cellar in September 2007 and had a great time! The atmosphere is nice and secluded, they had a very expansive menu and lots of cool stuff too. We tried the hot rock appetizer, which was awesome, and then had prime rib and a wonderful sea bass for dinner. The one downfall is that the waiter accidentally poured... more

We had a party of 6 at Hugos, after dining the previous night at Delmonicos, we all six had the filet and lobster and we all said it was one of the best meals we have ever had ANYWHERE, and we travel quite a bit. It really put Delmonicos to shame, and the price $125 for two was really quite reasonable considering what all came with it which at other restaurants is Al a carte. We really loved... more

Hugo’s Cellar—This restaurant is in the cellar of the 4 Queens downtown Las Vegas. The room is nice and cozy…brick walls and dark colors. The tables are not too close together and it is relatively quiet. It is easy to forget there is a noisy casino right above your head. First thing they do is present the females in the... more

Positive - the service. We were truly engaged by our wait staff and their stories of 20 plus years working at Hugo's. Negative- the food tasted as if it had been prepared 20 plus years ago too. We will definately make this restaurant our first choice when returning to Vegas.

From the rose when you arrive, to the salad made at your table, to the sorbet, the delicious main course (not ala carte), and the final desert. This is what all restaurants should try and emulate.
