My fiancé and I recently moved to the area and we were extremely impressed with this restaurant. The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. Our server's name was Connie and she was very friendly and also recommended several other restaurants in the area for us to try. While there you must also check out the men's restroom. It was restored to the original art deco design and is... more

my 11 year old and i traveled to nashville from california as a "field trip." returning from a day of sight-seeing, my son smashed his thumb in the car door...upon hearing his screams, all the hotel staff within earshot ran to his aide...later that night, milk, cookies, and a get-well card were sent up to our room. that is just ONE example of their attentiveness. i found the staff here to be... more

The Hermitage Hotel is without a doubt the best hotel in Nashville! The bellhops are very friendly and helpful from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. You get silk robes, slippers, complimentary bottled water and two cookies (per person) each night and so much more. The bathrooms are also one of the best aspects as they are very large with a garden bathtub, separate shower, water... more

We loved that our dog was welcome at this pristine, beautiful hotel. They even provided a dog bed for him--not that he used it! He was quite happy to lie in our super comfy king size bed. The size of the rooms here is really nice. Both the room (500 sq ft) and bathroom are huge, so you don't trip over eachother every time you turn around. Bathroom has awesome shower and separate soaking tub.... more

You Will Melt In Summertime

For such a grand hotel you would think that you would be able to adjust your in room temperture to what ever setting you desired. Not on the 8th floor. Summertime in the south is hot and humid when you come in out of 99 degree weather and your room never cools down even at night it makes for a miserable night of rest. If the hotel would let the guest be in controll of the air in each... more

An extremely expensive restaurant with grade "B" food and presentation. I was really expecting outstanding food, given the glowing reviews. Alas, it was not to happen this night. The worst, though, is the insufferable, pompous attitudes of the restaurant staff.

The grand dining room of the historic Hermitage Hotel attempts to achieve food and service to match its storied setting.

In ShortVaulted ceilings, European banquettes and plush fabrics create an atmosphere of opulence and luxury. At breakfast and lunch, this is the biggest power scene in town. The dinner crowd consists of theatergoers, special-occasion diners and expense-account types. The upscale, Southern-tinged menu offers plenty of fabulous-sounding options, like the buttery lobster with orzo and peas.... more

When The Hermitage opened its doors to guests in February 2003, I happened to be the first one who arrived to check in after a very early morning arrival into downtown Nashville.

Recently dined for anniversary and had 12 course meal. food was superb, good value at $85 i think. service was just right. ønly beef was with the wine list. decent selection but way, way overpriced. come for the food, stay for the atmosphere and definitely, bring your own wine.

I've only had the burger plate for lunch. The burger was dry, hard, and partly burned around the edges. Not even like a juicy burger from McDonalds or Hardees! The fries were limp and cold, though the iced tea was good. Too expensive for a bad lunch! I've given them the benefit of the doubt on several occasions, and, alas, there was no improvement whatsoever. Will not try lunch there again.

Great old historic hotel. Ask for a renovated room as those are nicer than those that are not renovated. A great view is the view that looks out at the capital. Also, the Capital Grill in the lobby is terrific. If all the restaurants on the dining list are better than it, Nashville must have great food.
