Business Description from the Web
Andiamo walks the line between casual and fine dining. The strip-mall setting implies a laid-back environment, but crisp table linens, well-dressed staff and meal presentation imitate more formal restaurants. The menu doesn't offer expected dishes, but rather entrees like veal scaloppine and prosciutto-wrapped and crabmeat-stuffed shrimp, which exemplify Andiamo's northern Italian focus. The...

The classic fare is delectable, making this one of the top Italian restaurants in the area. Outstanding options at the restaurant at Burnet Road and Rutland Drive include sautéed calamari over soft polenta, veal-stuffed ravioli in a mushroom sauce, fennel salad with white truffle oil, shrimp filled with crab and wrapped with prosciutto and veal Sorrentina with eggplant and fontina cheese.

I was expecting to be blown away by the meal. I was NOT. The bread before the meal was very tasty and probably the best aspect of meal. I had the Gnocci, ...It was ...well I didn't even eat it. My friend stated her lamb chop was "marginal' at best. Service was good, desserts were tasty also. Atmosphere: there was no atmosphere. For the price tag you would expect the food to be good. We did...

I would never have guessed an amazing Italian restaurant lay hidden in the slighty sketchy strip mall. Once inside, you forget the surroundings however. While not luxurious by any means, the ambience is nice, even quaint. The servers are extremely friendly and well versed with the menu. Service is never rushed and I guess can be perceived as a bit slow. We LOVED the delicious bread they...

Best Italian in Austin! We have been here many times and are never disappointed. The food is always excellent, the music makes for a very romantic dinner and the service is just as good. We have tried several different items on the menu and have always been very happy with our selections. Who cares that this is in a strip mall? Once you are inside, you don?t even think about the outside. Great...

Quaint restaurant in Northwest Austin. Quick service, great food with reasonable prices. Located at 2521 Rutland Drive.

A quaint Italian restaurant situated conveniently for us north Austin dwellers. Andiamo delivers a true escape into the flavors of Italy. They made room for us on a busy Saturday night and the ambiance and food were a wonderful escape from the weekly chaos.
Definitely recommended!

We were disappointed with the service, seating (we were seated in direct line of site to the kitchen door, even though there were only two tables in the entire restuarant.) and mediocre food. We would rather not go back, if our friends don't make us go back! Please, no!
Pros
+ I didn't get sick.
Cons
- Poor value for the dining experience.

Good food - flawed service.
We have been to Andiamo 3 times.
-The first time I was served the wrong dish.
-The second time, the bill listed a more expensive wine than what we had ordered.
- The third time the bill listed the correct wine at a much higher price than indicated on the menu.
Sorry, but while the food is good, the substandard service made us decide never to go there again.

This has got to be Austin's best kept secret restaurant. While it looks like nothing from the outside, inside it is the perfectly elegant small formal dining restaurant. We went on Valentine's Night and the dining area was never more than 3/4 full, the service was attentive and never rushed.
We had a fixed menu but the risotto, beef, red pepper soup, salad, lamb, and veal were all spot on...

Oh my God, is the right word for this best keep secret restaurant in town.
Don't be scared of the location, once you will get in, and try their food, you feel like in Italy. What else can I say??
Good Job!

I went to Andiamo this past weekend the food tasteless and it took more than an hour to get our food. I'm a regular at Andiamo but I really the place is going down. I don't think Andiamo is a 4 star restaurant? maybe one! Please get a better service & a good chef.
Pros

My boyfriend and I went to Andiamo a few months ago and had an excellent experience. The service was superb as our server was very attentive. Everything from the appetizer to dessert was very good. Don't let the strip mall location fool you, this place is top notch.

I liked the quiet environment of Andiamo's -very relaxing. We arrived early but by the time dinner was served it was filling up and we were still able to enjoy conversation at the table, unlike many other restaurants where the noise is a disruption. On this evening there was live music and totally Italian appropriate as well as soothing. Our waiter answered all our questions about the menu...

Tour of Italy Cuisine --- Brilliant Concept --
Andiamo's is one of the favorite Italian resturant's of myself and my wife. We have alway's found the service to be impeccable and the wait staff extremely knowledgeable and help in describing the various dishes. I have some minor allergies and they are not only knowledgeable of the various entree's ingredients, but will work with the chef to...

Having lived in Italy and then in NYC for the last few years I've gotten used to (and even picky!) about Italian food. Andiamo is the first restaurant in Austin (we've lived here a year) that has "wowed" me with its authenticity, thoughtful menu, and classic but casual ambiance. This little gem is tucked away in the unlikely confines of a strip mall....but don't let the location fool you! The...

We have recently discovered a refreshingly pleasant Italian dining experience here in Austin, TX. So much so that we have repeatedly returned for more. It is at the Andiamo Ristorante , 2521 Rutland Drive #325 Burnet Road, Ph (512) 719-3377
To begin with there is the quiet ambiance that lends itself, refreshingly, to quiet conversation, and no shell shock from shouting, banging of china, pots&...

Went to eat to Andiamos on Friday night and it took more than hour and half to receive my food.
Place wasn't busy and the food not only came out late but cold and tasteless. So why this place is so different now? Something has changed definitely.
I don't think , I'll have Andiamo in my fav list anymore, sorry.

I usually go to Andiamo for lunch when I want to take clients to a restaurant that serves excellent food, is quiet enough for a business conversation, and where the service is prompt and efficient. I recently went there for dinner with my husband and some friends and family members. I hadn?t been there in the evening for a while. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the special of the day...

I've been to northern Italy many times and have a pretty good idea of what the cuisine is supposed to be about. To me, Andiamo seems most like an Italian restaurant catering mainly to foreign tourists; overpriced wine (300% or more above average wine-shop retail -- hey, let me BYO and I won't complain about any corkage fee), unsurprising and unadventurous cuisine featuring lots of pounded...

We had been looking forward to visiting Andiamo for over a year having heard about it at an Italian language course last summer. We were preparing for a second visit to Italy last fall. Andiamo's has very pleasant ambience. It's one of the few high quality restaurants in Austin where you can actually talk over the table without shouting to be heard over other customers. The food is very good too.
However, the restaurant has a policy of not issuing separate checks or even helping you to tabulate separate payments. This may not be a problem when there are fewer than four...

We were greeted as if we were family! Were surprised to experience such wonderful menu items such as the creamy, flavorful artichoke and potato soup. Andiamo is a hidden treasure discovered by those who truly appreciate great Italian food. We will definitely return for the fantastic food and warm friendly service.
Pros
+ Great for couples!
Cons

This is my favorite Italian restaurant. The ambience is a little lacking to me but the food more than makes up for it. I thought the prices were reasonable. Although, it is out of the way... not really close to anything in my opinion. It's in a shopping mall which can take away from the atmosphere... I wouldn't take a 1st-3rd date here... someone you know will appreciate good food and you...

Second time I've been there for lunch. Everything is well-prepared. My wife had the special, spinach ravioli, and I, baked tilapia almondine. The wait staff is VERY attentive, the sauces are understatated but delicious, and the presentation is very attractive. The luncheon prices are quite reasonable, and there are ample choices. The house wine was great. It's a great place to join friends for...

I have eaten here twice and plan on going again whenever I can. The food is to die for. The ravioli melted in my mouth, and their gnocchi is just wonderful.
The only complaint I have is that our waiter last time was very chatty, and he corrected us when I wanted to start with a salad and my husband wanted to start with an antipasto. I'd expect more refined service from a restaurant with...

Except for the location, this place is nicely done. Superior service. Exceptional cuisine. The wine list needs some work though. This is a praiseworthy restaurant that I believe will do well. I just suggest they serious think about getting out of the ghetto like strip mall location.

EXCELLENT Italian food- it is TRUE italian, as one would get in Northern Italy. I have lived there, and it is very authentic. The lack of a liquor license makes it more affordable as we take our own wine-Very attentive ownership and staff- we try to go every 2 weeks or so- when it first opened, there was no need for reservations, but now, call ahead on weekends-

Andiamo is a really good restaurant. Their pastas are wonderful. We had a couple of the specials, including a terrific asparagus soup and a fennel salad with truffle oil (yum!). The service was great -- the chef came out to greet us and ask how we liked everything, which is really nice. The only odd thing about the service -- we had reservations, but arrived a few minutes late. Though the...

At last, a top of the line Italian restaurant which surpasses any other Italian fare in Texas.
I've dined at many Italian restaurants from Dallas to Corpus and can truly say this place puts them all to shame.

Austin was in dire need of another good Italian restaurant. But this one is the best of the best. I can only think of three of what I consider good, fine dining Italian restaurants in Austin and Andiamo is the best of them all.

The tilapia was outsanding, and very resonable for a meal of this quality. Service was very caring about a good experience.
My friend and I completely enjoyed haveing diner at your restaurant. The service was great and the service was perfect. Thanks!
Not much to say besides high praise for my first visit. I went with my girlfriend, who has been looking high and low for authentic Italian food in the area. Needless to say, the search is over. Our waiter was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. The food was amazing. We will no doubt pass up The Domain to make return visits here. I hope enough people do the same to keep Andiamo around.
