About midway between downtown and Denver International Airport, the Renaissance is our pick for a comfortable but still somewhat elegant hotel that offers all the amenities we might want. Particularly impressive is the architecture -- a white double pyramid 12 stories high. The 10-story atrium lobby has tropical palms and fig trees growing beneath the central skylight, fountains, lots of marble...

Impressed! The hotel was completly remodeled for the DNC 8/08 a staff member told me. Wonderful decor, lobby is stunning,Starbucks coffee bar, new beds/linens were luxurious! Our room was quiet & relaxing. Will have to agree with previous review that the hotel reminded me of the LUXOR in Vegas.Staff was kind, friendly, and very helpful. Loved the new gym! Manager sent a fun little basket after...

This hotel is very old and located among a train shipyard. If you are looking to be woken up by the whistling of the train signals in the middle of the night then I recommend staying elsewhere. Valet service is horrible and the staff not so friendly either.
The rooms were so dirty that I checked into a different hotel just after one night.

Called the hotel before reservation to confirm that renovations were complete, was told yes! Arrived at hotel to find that the indoor pool was closed. I have a young disabled son who cannot be in direct sunlight due to medications and I had called to confirm that the hotel had a indoor pool. I was also told that most rooms had a refrigerator, but found out that it was an additional $15/night....
