The newest addition to the revamp of Hollywood Boulevard, this 20-story building rises out of the Hollywood and Highland complex, which contains the Kodak Theatre, home to the Academy Awards, and an assortment of shops and restaurants. With renovations completed in 2002, the 637 guest rooms feature Hollywood sign and city views, and a space age feeling ’50s style décor. The unique Panorama suite, which occupies the former circular restaurant on the roof, boasts a 270-degree view. The hotel is designed to fulfill guests’ expectations of mid-century Hollywood glamour, but much of it feels like a theme park. The grand lobby is graced with a massive mural by Charles Arnoldi, while the pool deck offers plenty of chaise lounges and a full service spa. On the second floor, Twist serves California-Asian Fusion cuisine and the whimsical Lobby Bar serves a mean Martini.
