"Abandon all vegetarianism, ye who enter" this "affordable" late-night "house of meat" in Somerville, where the "young, pleasant" staff brings out more "fabulous" BBQ "than even a football team would know what to do with"; it's "not formal", but the "rustic" bi-level setup "suits the menu and clientele perfectly", as evidenced by the "substantial waits"; P.S. if you "can't decide" on something...

Great barbecue, of course, but try to visit alone one time. Sit at the counter where the cooks are working. You will get to see them in action, and get a sample of everything! Heaven. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with their vinegar sauce - and a little hot sauce as well, of course.

Boston's best BBQ

Boston is not famous for BBQ but Red Bones would do well in North Carolina, Tennessee or Texas. It is authentic. Not cheap, but cheaper than a flight to real BBQ towns

Where to Sit: It's jumping almost every night--both in the smoke-free upstairs, popular with families, and the darker, bar-dominated downstairs.
