Not being a vegan, I still loved the food and the Ginger Beer (very unusual and good). It is rather plain interior, and the service simply ok, so I would no go there for a first date, fine dinning experience, but then it is not meant for that. If you want unusually good raw veggie fare, this is an excellent place.
Of all the raw restaurants I have tried in New York City and outside of the state, Raw Soul has truly set the bar. Their menu is inventive, the meals healthy and filling, and the taste is unmatched. I am very surprised about the negative reviews. I live across the street from this place, and have been going there for 3 years without one negative experience. True indeed that raw food is not for everyone, but I think the quality of food here is great, always fresh. Regarding "smelly" comments, things like raw cabbage, raw garlic, etc are not as pleasantly aromiatic as raw basil, but we can't...
But I can't. I have been in there a few times, the service is extremely slow and rude. And I had take out that turned out to be bad once I got it home. The prices are ok-high for this neighborhood. But I will say that when you get something that is fresh it more than makes up for all the bad things about this restaurant as the food is yummy.
