Help us make it rightThe tiny storefront Raton Museum, inside the 1906 Coors Building (the beer manufacturer once used it as a warehouse), brims with artifacts of the coal camps, railroading, ranch life, and the Santa Fe Trail. The museum, which has a large and interesting photo collection, is a good first stop on a visit to the area. The docents enjoy explaining local history.
The building is very spacious, the staff was very friendly. It's more of a display of old stuff without a lot of explanation, likely the ace is under funded. Downtown Raton has seen better days...
There are so many items to see at this museum, very informative about Raton and the area. Actually found a picture there with a family member in it. So much history!

this together have done a marveleous job and desire much credit.
Fun history of the area and the cureator, Mr. Sanchez is a delight! The area was established by a multitude of miners and ranchers and the stories are great fun.
