French. Italian. A good steak. Romance comes in all portion sizes. Given that love is an international language, here's where Houston can help you keep the romance alive.

From OpenTable:

Well known and loved for gulf fish, wild game, steaks and chops, RBL features Lunch, Dinner & Sunday Brunch. Owner Donnette Hansen's attention to detail is reflected in everything from the comfortable Log Cabin setting & landscaped grounds to the seasonally changing menus. Insider's Tip: Go for the business lunch ($14.95-3 courses) or try the tasting menu at dinner....

Editorial reviews from the web (1)

One of the grand old Houston restaurants, this elegant dining room celebrates all things Texas. You’ll find no oysters Rockefeller here; instead, the premier starter is oysters Padre, fried oysters served Tex-Mex-style with pico de gallo and lime. The tomato salad is a stack of locally grown tomatoes and fresh basil right from their garden. Expect Prime beef, fresh fish and game cooked in a...

I’ve dined at Rainbow Lodge for many years and it is by far one of my most favorite restaurants! This place is truly one of a kind with its unique setting and atmosphere. Where else can relax and dine in a cozy log cabin, right in the…

Try the tasting menu at dinner if you like a fun variety of flavors.

My grandest and strongest applause to the Rainbow Lodge! We held my daughter's wedding reception here this month and have received so many compliments from family and guests. My daughter and son-in- law were very satisfied with the…

This is a world class resort that you have to see. Finesse in staff, atmosphere and menus are all part of this package.

Business description (3)

Rainbow Lodge is a Houston landmark restaurant serving American Regional cuisine such as seafood and wild game. The patios overlooking Buffalo Bayou (Houston's only waterway) are perfect for al fresco lunches and brunch. Closed Mondays except in December.

Rainbow Lodge is the type of place where you expect to sip wine and play a wild game with the likes of Jim Harrison or Tom Mcguane. Enjoy tasty seafood offerings along with a view of the ravine in White Oak Bayou in this century old log cabin. Plus, with rooms like the Orvis Room you know just where to take the outdoorsman in the family. Just let them gaze at the rustic carvings along the bar....

Rainbow Lodge is an upscale establishment that serves a new American cuisine with a menu dominated by seafood. Expect the average entrée to cost $20 to $30, and people generally go dressed casual, but fashionable.

More Reasons to Go: Rainbow Lodge is appropriate (if not ideal) for private parties. When weather permits, enjoy outdoor seating.

Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner....

Tips about this business (5)

The lush landscaping, citrus grove, kitchen garden and picturesque grounds make Rainbow Lounge a popular spot for weddings receptions and private parties. Call for reservations and catering menu prices.

The restaurant has extended hours during the holiday season, including Monday nights. There are four party rooms available.

"Supper Sunday," starting at 5pm each week, features casual comfort food specials from $15, plus half-price wines by the glass. Entree options include braised buffalo short ribs, grilled bock brined pork chops, smoked duck hash, steak frites and vegetable lasagna.

Request a table on the outdoor terrace for Sunday brunch which features the signature duck gumbo and 99-cent mimosas until 3pm.

Regulars will be relieved to know that the famous Tied Fly Bar (a 20-foot wood bar carved into a trout stream) made it over from the original location.
