The hotel itself was fabulous, very clean, sleep number beds, and helpful staff. Be warned however, if the wind is from the southwest, planes will start departing over this hotel at around 5am (DSM is a UPS air sorting hub). It is loud enough to rattle the windows and the building, even at the bottom floor.
Let me start with what I like about this hotel: free water bottles in room and sleep number bed. Now my gripe. I packed along my Nintendo Wii and Guitar Hero 3 to pass the evening boredom. I stayed at this hotel recently while attending performances of the Des Moines Opera at Simpson College in the nearby town of Indianola. Located about 20 minutes from the Indianola area and about 15 minutes from downtown Des Moines the hotel overlooks the Des Moines airport and would be an excellent choice for anyone needing easy access to the airport....
