Editorial reviews from the web (1)

This immense, hilly preserve is the oldest wildflower park in the country.

In Short
Schoolteacher Eloise Butler feared that the wild beauty of Minnesota would fall to the ax of city life, and she set about to save it. As a result, in 1907 the Minneapolis Park...

With habitats that vary from wetlands to woods to prairie, this park presents a changing array of native flowers, grasses, trees, and wildlife. The interpretive center provides a good guide of what species to look for, but the simple joy of the ramble.

The interpretive center provides a good guide of what species to look for, but the simple joy of the ramble through the changing landscape on winding...

I love to come here with my kids -- it's like a lush fairy land in the summer and fall. Park programs are also excellent and affordable.
