Across the street from Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Purple Shamrock packs in wall-to-wall tourists of all ages. This is a rowdy, fun place that schedules DJs and cover bands.

The location is great, the place is packed, but they act like they are a notch above the other 2 million irish pubs in boston, which they aren't. It's just more of a scene than it should be which is a plus for some people and a turn off for others. I think the place has potential but needs to be toned down a bit

A friend and I were visting my sister in Boston. After walking all day, and sight seing, we decided to stop into the Purple Shamrock. What a mistake. First the waitress was rude and argumentative, we should have left right then. But we decided to stay cuz the windows were open and we were people watching. Our waitress finally brought our drinks and made sound effects for everything she put...

We were a table of 3 on a late Saturday afternoon. It was somewhat busy but not every table was occupied. The service was awful. The food was mediocre. We ordered our drinks and food and it took 20 mins to bring us our waters. 5 mins after that, my drink was delivered. 5 mins after that, my husband's drink was delivered. Ridiculous. After 35 to 40 mins later of waiting for our nachos...
